I was playing HM:AWL today and was like, "Whoaaaa... holy spelling errors." Plus the "special" edition that lets you marry Lumina (big whoop, too much lag and load time equals What the waffles? Why just not kill me now?) is the WORST special edition of a game I have seen in a long time. And the DS versions are sloppy and full of glitches that can completely ruin the game. Cute is much better, but I think that AWL deserves a fourth chance. Come on Natsume! Why are you so lazy nowadays anyhow? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalacry.gif)

I'd play one if they made it similar to the GC version, but with the endless play after death, the shipping basket from the start and not having to be third generation hybrids, and most importantly if they just added more to do. New characters would be nice too.

I really loved AWL, but it did have quite a few flaws admittedly. Would love to see a well made remake though.

I'll be honest, I'd rather Marvelous just bury AWL, Forget-Me-Not Valley, and most of its inhabitants in the deepest grave it can possibly dig and never look back.

I'd much rather see them give Harvest Moon 64 a remake. I'd buy multiple copies of that.

I saw this topic and thought in my head "WHY NOT A 64 REMAKE."

I do like A Wonderful Life, and I even own the Special Edition, but c'mooon. 64's great and they haven't bought it to any other consoles. I port would satisfy me. >o<

The N64 game was a bit too slow moving of a game for me when I was younger and I got bored of it fast. I sort of am curious of how characters from HM64 would look with this awesome anime style character design they have. I think what is needed is a new team of game testers to find the glitches, or a team of fresh, young, and talented game designers who know what the player feels like when playing a game. It would be nice to see a previous character's child in the game. Setting stays the same, add a new plot, new characters, and a better view of what farm life was like long ago.

I find it ironic that you call 64 too slow and love A Wonderful Life.

I was trying not to say that exact same thing Charmy. XDDDD

Honestly Geigue, if I were you, I'd take another stab at the earlier games like 64. Just taking into consideration how many real-world minutes make up an in-game day and how many years you have to play before the game "ends", Harvest Moon 64 is vastly shorter and quicker to play through than AWL. That said, literal length and how long it feels to you are two different things. If you enjoyed playing AWL more, then it's not surprising that you felt like it was the quicker game despite it being longer and slower statistically.

I'd still prefer a remake of 64, or helk, the original over a remake of AWL. AWL has not only gotten a girl version and a special edition, it was also revisited in DS/Cute. I don't really think Forget-Me-Not Valley needs a sixth game.

I like AWL. I do. I've mentioned this already in a thread about porting AWL as a wii game, but they'd need to add a coupla things to justify another remake. Actually, I'd rather have the setting set in the past as well (which would pave the way for new characters and a bigger land to explore).

The main focus was the child growth system which was interesting. However, the ball was dropped with things like festivals, and other things they actually had in mind to include originally (circus), which would have made the game a bit more whole for many people.

To keep things short, I would like a game set in the AWL branch, but they'd need to include much more. Otherwise, it'd be like buying the same game again that's still being supported anyways.

The only thing I really liked about AWL was the graphics. I didn't really care much for the aging; I didn't play the Special Edition with its endless play, but the whole thing of your character's death at the end is disappointing. For some reason I'm not really into the whole 'your kid turns into an adult', mostly because they really don't do anything. When my dad played through the game, he didn't even look at his kid.

For some reason I kind of want a game like Magical Melody (but with non-jellybean graphics), with characters from all the different games.

I know right MM was wonderful in all the stuff you could do with land purchases and getting eveyone moved in.

The death scene just added to the realizism the game was aiming for.  And like you said, in both of the other versions, AnWL and SE, you get the heaven chapter used to continue the game.  Personally, I don't like any game overs in HM either.  I played AnWL over the original (it has added cutscenes and things, too) more.

Special Edition was kinda weird.  Yes, it had baby girl and an extra bachelorette additions; but I also didn't like characters having to load up on cue either.  They'd just pop up as you walked towards them, and even popped in cutscenes.

Your toddler doesn't do too much and can be ignored just as in any other game.  I like the changes revolving around their growth and the changes on your farm to see to those changes.  Things are going to seem more pointless than no if you don't even look at it and try to make something out of it.

Something AWL suffered from was the translation in some areas.  You could tell they were taking things in the most literal sense at times.  I mean, tally up when characters said "don't you think (so)?" or "isn't it?" at the end of their sentence.  Better yet, take a shot for every one, then call me when you're done playing after a couple hours.

Eh, Magical Melody's my least favorite, personally.  I don't dislike it, but it's not up there.

I don't really think that the game deserves another remake, there are already too many remakes, special editions, etc etc that'd just be unappealing to newer fans of the series to play ANOTHER remake.

I, personally, adored the game. It was my first game of the series to play, and it will always be my favorite. Both the female/male versions were fine, I enjoyed the SE edition, and I had no issues with the DS games (never had a glitch, a bug, etc that only ever happened if I used action replay).

You're a magical person if you never ran into a glitch in DS. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

I LOVE AWL AAAAAAAAGH

I refuse to finish it because I'm such a chicken and don't wanna see my character die. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalacry.gif)

But its what really got me into the franchise forever. I'm content with Harvest Moon DS though. :) Those glitches though. -_-
