Wait... what? I sent you a PM regarding a few changes in those moves. Not the one you had replied to, but another one. Did you receive it?
This was very important, so... |

Firstly, need to point out you've figured a move wrong. I get Gold Fields, since Lake's attacking strength was negated by Highlands. Since nobody else attacked Cliffs or Fields, that means I get it. There's no way round this at all, I'm afraid. Fields is mine, fair and square.
You'll have to edit the map anyway because of this; do Calliope's changes at the same time because she says they're important and legitimate since she sent them in before the map changed (note that it's only two days since the last one, and Koz PM'd me to say he's pissed that you didn't wait or say when the moves were due in). I'm not apologising even if you think this sounds whingey. If it was something minor I'd let it drop but we can't gloss over errors as big as this. EDIT: And why was Versailles disbanded instead of being given the option to retreat? Yeah, looks like we really need you to fix this turn. |

Lindstrom, you keep updating the map at different times. You've never even given a notice about when moves are due in. I always wait and send my moves in the last day, but without knowing when that is, I can't really send it in. Others have complained about this too, and if it keeps happening, I'll have no choice but to close both this topic and the blue game as well.
Please sumbit a newly edited map. |

As long as we don't entirely redo this turn, 'cuz that would be dumb.

Dude, the rules are entirely clear on this. Although Dark Sea's support was irrelevant, Lake was attacked by Highlands, meaning that it now has zero attacking strength and Cliffs is unopposed. You obviously didn't clear it properly, or Lind is changing the rules. Otherwise Lake would have had to fight two battles, see? It doesn't work like that.
Gold Cliffs to Gold Fields Gold Highlands to Gold Lake Gold Lake to Gold Fields Lake has had to defend itself while attempting to do a move where it would otherwise stay in place but keep Fields open. Therefore its strength in the battle for Fields has been negated entirely and Cliffs can move in with no problems. |

Calliope: I generally don't look at the moves til I have them all, which sometimes is late at night and if I'm exhausted and I've received multiple PMs there is a small chance that I'll use the wrong list of moves. I can adjust that if necessary
Hasfusel: When attack strength is calculated, you go with the front of the line first (this is how it always has been). That is, Golden Lake and Golden Cliffs both moved to Fields at the same time. They had equal strength and bounced. Highlands couldn't enter Lake because it was still occupied. If you want to argue that Lake had no power left and should be overtaken, then it would mean GS's Lake unit would be forced to retreat to Golden Frontier (effectively taking it back) while you get Golden Lake. If GS tried to hold Lake, you would take Cliffs, but because he attempted to move first, he spent his strength fighting in Fields first. Because everyone moves at the same time, when Highlands was at the Lake, Lake was at Fields fighting with Cliffs. I can make it into a little animation if that helps Koz: For a while now I haven't even considered you part of the game. If you want to talk about it further we can do it in PMs. |

Lind, I'm positive we did it like I said last time. I'm sure Toast and Lenyo will back me up on this one. Lakes can't be taken because it isn't being attacked by enough pieces. But having to defend itself has negated its attacking strength, so it's forced to stay put.

If you want, go ahead. But it's quite clear to me that Lake spent it's strength in Fields, returned to Lake, and then encountered your Highlands unit

Most of the move sets from last game clearly showed units as having attacking/supporting strength removed by being attacked by a single unit. If a unit attempting to support (or attack without having enough support to gain the territory) was attacked itself, its move would be negated and it would be basically forced to hold, as opposed to keeping the territory it attacked clear and then somehow being forced out and made to retreat.
In effect, we have Gold Lake and Gold Highlands holding while Gold Cliffs takes Fields. I think you'd agree with me since this makes more sense than any business about order of moves or whatever, plus I'm certain this is how it worked last time. But, I don't wanna be a jerk about this. I guess I can't do much about it, although I assume that if Lenyo and Toast agree with me, having been in the last game, you might change your mind. Anyway, at the very least, the map should be updated in light of Calliope and Kozunai. |

If anything at all, just do Kozunai's moves and make this stupid arguing stop, before it gets out of hand.

It's like this:
(IMG:http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y133/MagicPants/goldmap.gif) Everyone is making their initial move at the same time. GS's Lake unit spends his strength against your Cliff unit fighting over the Fields, which because there isn't support, neither of you take, forcing you both to return to your original locations. At the same time, your Highlands unit moved into an empty Lake and waited until GS's Lake unit returned. 1 of 2 things could happen. Either you simply return to the Highlands, or you drive his weakened troops out of the Lake, which would mean they must retreat to the only open area, which is Frontier, effectively taking it. Arguably, GS has a stronger case saying he should have been forced to retreat and reclaim Frontier. Koz, those first two rounds were a total of 8 days, during which I sent you several PMs (often while you were still online) reminding you that the game was still going on and you had limited time to send in your moves. Inactivity hurts this game significantly more than it does Werewolf. Last time, Lenyo was busy for a long period of time and it effectively wiped him out of the game as everyone ate up his land. I don't hold anything against people who are suddenly busy, but I'm not going to keep the game held up when everyone else is ready. |

While I'm tempted to say I deserve Golden Frontier now, I won't make any claims until we come to an agreement on the rules of attack. There's no point in playing the game if we can't agree on this.
