Actually, if you look through that thread and a few others on here, all of the rival events seen so far (only one per couple, really) are listed as well as the time, place, and weather necessary for them to occur.

You have to grow Soy Beans and I believe you have to prepare Edamame (which is a dish). I can't remember who sells them at the bazaar, but I do know it's not very early on.

And, all of those items, particularly for Juris (I believe he's called Ivan or something in the English version), will raise their hearts plenty fast - especially if you win festivals and answer Heart Events accordingly. Unlike other Harvest Moon games, you're not really pressured to be married by the end of your first year or even by the end of your second or third. It's just kind of... "whenever you get around to it". Seriously, you could spend the first three or four years doing nothing but building up your bazaar and farm to 100% and then work on getting married and nothing would really change.

The thing about Wind Bazaar is that it quite literally has no plot - you don't have to do anything other than farm and run a shop and the only things your decisions affect are how many people are in your house and how much money you make.

I had a brain melt down. I completely forgot that there are multiple ways then just what they like with 800+ items. I'm reading through some of the guides that are up and I completely forgot about the animal trick as well. I personally don't care about the rival events in this game. But I would like to see them anyway. Anyway, thanks for the information. I completely forgot about certain things. I was just focusing on the 800+ item over the little things. Also, thank you once again. I completely forgot that there is no plot to this game. (This is what I get for playing HMDSC for the last three days).

Also, I have a quick question. Its about the greenhouse that is under your house. Is that for your own personal use? Or is that meant for just when you connect with someone via Wi-Fi? (aka like the Goddess Pond in Twin Villages. You can grow them but you can't touch them).

My one question is how do I get a better fishing rod? I know I use the windmill {I have them all unlocked}, but when I look at the recipe for the Medium Fishing Rod, I need a medium fishing rod to make it... Which doesn't make any sense at all. I have the ore and everything to make it, buy how can I?

Btw, how can I get the elements or whatever they're called for the windmills {things to stick into the left side?}?

Edit : I'm pretty sure the basement is for your own personal use, to grow things during different seasons.

I've never seen the Wonderfuls that are supposedly in the game to power up the windmills, but I assume you can get them somehow... (probably by cracking orestones or whatever those little multicolored things are called)

And, Idler, that's because Felix sells you the medium fishing rod at the Bazaar. You can't upgrade your first fishing rod into the medium fishing rod or the medium fishing rod into the long fishing rod because, essentially, they're three different rods with three different purposes. What the recipe in the windmill is for is to upgrade the rod once you get it.

I'm sure you've noticed that there are three fish shadows in front of any dock area. Each one of those corresponds to a rod - you can't catch them with any other rod but the one they're meant for. The smallest one can only be caught using the short fishing rod (the first one you get), the medium sized fish shadow can only be caught using the medium fishing rod, and the largest fish shadow can likewise only be caught using the long fishing rod. If you were able to change any one rod into the other, you would lose the ability to catch the fish spawned by the fish shadow that it had been able to catch from previously.

So, it's unfortunate, but you'll just have to wait until Felix sells them to you. It's kind of a drag, but what can you do?

And yes, Dragonstar. As Idler said, the basement is in fact for your own personal use. It has nothing to do with Wi-Fi. :D

Okay then, thank you once again. I must have gotten my information screwed up somewhere. I've been playing this game, HMDSC, and HMTV so closly to one another. I'm getting things mixed up. (Lesson learned master one game first then play one of the others. Don't go back and forth between games).

Ah, that is disappointing as I now I have silver with no purpose lol. Oh well, but yeah, I've noticed the different shadows, I just figured it was like the other games that once you upgrade it ect that you could eventually catch the next biggest and still catch the small ones.

Gah, I find it annoying that a characters birthday trumps the bazaar.

Btw, thanks for the help. :)

You're welcome, and god, I know what you mean. I mean, since bazaars are optional and the villagers are loafing around town or the bazaar stalls anyway, I don't see why they can't just double them up. It's no stretch to say that if you wanted to give the villager of the day something, you could totally manage that and run your bazaar well. >:/

(Btw, silver has a decent sellback price at the bazaar, though it will be less than what you bought it for. Er. If you bought it, that is. It can definitely help propel you towards your next bazaar goal. :D)

Once you get your Bazaar to 75% Raul's other brother will open up his own stand. He sells some jewels, special stones that let you change the season in your basement plot (when you buy it you can only grow Spring crops), some kind of flour, and Wonderfuls. So far he only sold a Blue Wonderful after I bought that I didn't see any other colors yet. But now I'm playing a different file so I haven't been progressing in my good file.

Villagers birthdays make you skip Bazaars, but no one even notices your characters birthday. Or was that just me?

Well, if you have a high enough heart rating with certain people, you will get gifts, but even if it lands on a Bazaar or Festival Day, that event won't be changed or pushed back. I know. My second in-game birthday fell on a Bazaar day and I still had to go sell stuff. :/

And thanks for letting me know that. I'm almost to that 75% point, so... yay. Wonderfuls. Maybe I'll be able to process tea quicker. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

I hate that in the first fall you have to go two weeks before you get a bazaar, and at that point I had no room for all the stuff I wanted to sell and it just annoyed me so much.
And, I know, no one cares about your birthday lol. Which is stupid because I always try and give that person a gift.

Also, what did you guys think about the snowboarding and skateboarding? Unnecessary or do you like it?
I find it kind of pointless -.- I won the first snowboard competition and I hadn't even practiced.

Curses I guess nobody liked me. Well it was only my first birthday so I hadn't been playing for that long. And mine was on a Bazaar too. Not cool game, not cool.

I know the Blue Wonderful makes processing stuff a lot faster which was really useful. I have no idea what other Wonderfuls do though.

I think Snowboarding was fun. I like when there's more festivals then just the classic animal and cooking festivals. So even if it is kinda pointless the more festivals the better. I just wish you could ride around town without it stopping. But then the horse would be pointless (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaeyes.gif) .

Yeah, or even the skateboard, that'd be more realistic to ride around town. But I agree that having different festivals is fun than the ones that are in every single game.

Btw, can the spices even be used or just there to look pretty? Why did I bother wasting that money if they can't be used!

If you mean the ones you bought for your kitchen, they're actually a cooking tool. Certain dishes need them to be made.

Hmm yeah the Seasoning Set is almost never used. I probably won't ever buy it.

Are you sure you get gifts. Because I had a Red heart with Ivan, a Yellow heart with Dirk, and seven hearts with some villagers and none of them even noticed my birthday. This is so not cool I can't stand it when your birthday is just like a normal day (unless you're married).

Well, I got tired of it so I traded it in for credit at Gamestop. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif)

Let's hope with the 3DS, we'll get more console-like titles (such as ToT/AP)...because handheld Harvest Moons really don't cut the custard ((IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) ) for me.

Eh...I know that most fans of Harvest Moon have given this game a lukewarm reception, but I loved it! Granted, the replay value isn't overly high compared to some of the console games, but I believe this is the only HM game that I've gotten to my third year on without getting bored.

I notice that many of the people who think this game is a bit below average for an HM game tend to say that there isn't enough to do in a day. While I agree with this, and the observations that the characters are not too well developed, I found that there is a lot to do in this version once you're beyond your first year, and you have more crops and animals to tend to. And as for the difficulty level, I did not mind how 'easy' it was. Perhaps the game would have benefited from the player having to clear the fields, or from having to plant grass seeds, but I liked how accessible it was to the causal player just picking it up. Plus, many of the other games (especially FoMT and DS: for Boy) bothered me by having so many requirements to marry and such.

Many people seem to frown upon the characters, too. While I have touched upon how I feel that they could use some more development, I feel that the characters were a bit shallow in some other games, too. To be honest, I loved how the characters weren't rehashed from past games (while I don't mind this if it's like MM and you actually flesh out the characters, like with the SNES girls, I find it absurd to see how many games have say, the two different Karens and Popuris available to marry). I even loved the art style.

Yeah, I know my opinion's unpopular, but it's no matter; I backed myself up, at least. :P

It's fun. Wish there was more interesting stuff to sell, and more bazaar days.
