Since it's out and all :P My first question: is the opening still in there? It's one of the selling points to me.

Aw, Kozunai's post was deleted.
Anyhow, how long are the days? I'm hearing people say they're about as long as AWL, and that they can do 3 times as much as they would in a normal Harvest Moon day. I guess it's good if there's a lot to do, but I also hate the idea of being stuck on a day for too long. |

If you didn't see my last post. Yes the beginning, with the theme song, is in the game.
The days are a little longer than AWL, mainly because of having to do the cave stuff. It takes awhile to find the stuff in the cave that you need to. Destorying all the generators, then going to the bottom level and defeating the boss... (which by the way, is nearly impossible in Carmite Cave, if you're below level 10). But if you get stuck with nothing to do, you can go fishing, and make about 3,000 G for the day, that's usually what I do. Time does not pass in houses, which makes th days even longer than they already were... I can get through the town, in less than an hour in game time. |

Is it hard to get started in the beginning? How was it for you?

One of the first things you'll want to do, is go to the beach and get the fishig rod. Then you can start making money. Personally, whenever I fish I make anywhere between 3,000 G - 5,000 G. Then you can start buying crops. I still haven't figured out how to woo any of the girls yet... I don't know what they like. But that will change tomorrow when I get my guide.

Animals are easy to get. Tabatha gives you an item you use to tame monsters and they get put into a shed. You build a shed with 100 Lumber and 1000G. It's really kinda easy.

DPB, have you even thought of upgrading your house yet?
And DBP, how do you upgrade tools? I can't find Iron, all I get is scrap iron... |

You'll get Iron by hammering the rocks eventually. I've yet to be able to save up the 200,000 to upgrade my house.

How in-depth are the characters? Is it like MM where they only say one thing a day?

They each say a couple different things for each spot they're in around the day I think.

They walk around like in MM although they have set schedules it's not like MM where they are in that spot unless you move.

In the menu, go down four spots until you hit the one with the little Radish/Turnip and flower. It's on the top screen. I missed it at first too, since everything else was on the bottom screen...

Ah, thank you. Same thing with me. Didn't even bother to look at that the top of the screen. Even got out the manual and I was like huh? That's not there...

Yeah, I just figured out how to do that today actually. There was a picture of the top and bottom screen in the guide. That is also how you check how much lumber you have. I remember being so pissed not knowing how to check how much wood you had...

Now I want to go see if I can get the guide. But it feels kind of pointless having just gotten the game.

you really don't need it, but then you do... You're supposed to be able to beat the game in a year... but not for me... I won't beat it within the first game year...

I heard that, but I don't think I want to rush the game that much either. Right now I'm just debating on weapon to get before I enter the cave. I guess it doesn't matter so long as I have something, but it's so tempting when there's a more valuable one right there.

get the cheapest one and the shield. You can't get through the first cave with a two handed weapon.
