Hi everyone, I'm Spectre! I'm a Harvest Moon / Rune Factory fan and I was drawn here by Daniella. I'm eager to start posting here and interacting with you guys! I won't say that I'm overly up to date with the most recent developments with HM/RF, but I feel pretty familiar.
As for me personally, I'm currently a university student studying psychology and animation. A bit of an odd mix of majors, but it's two things I'm passionate about. I enjoy drawing, writing, singing, reading, and playing video games :"D. I won't go through the ins and outs of listing out all the games I play, but feel free to inquire! At the very least, I play PC games like League of Legends and Hearthstone. I naturally also have played Harvest Moon and Rune Factory games, but Animal Crossing holds a special place in my heart too. I also post art on deviantART and post covers and other videos on YouTube. Nice to meet everyone and I look forward to chatting with you all! |

Hellooo! Daniella's been telling me a little about you. I hear you're a beginner at Japanese?
The most recent Harvest Moon game I've played is Tree of Tranquility, but I've finally sold my copy. I really like the older games and I think my favourites are HM 64 and Back to Nature. Story of Seasons doesn't look that bad though, but it isn't released here yet anyway. >__>; A lot of us here are also Animal Crossing fans. I haven't finished expanding my house yet. uhuu I hope you stick around for a while, it's nice to see a new member finally. :) It's no secret that the forums have tumbleweeds rolling through but we're still alive!!! |

Oh hi, Charmy! I've heard a bit about you too from Daniella! I'm currently in Japanese I at my university, so yeah I'm pretty new at learning the real ins and outs of it. I couldn't really get through ToT. I only played it for a little while. I feel like my heart still belongs to Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. Rune Factory 3 is still my favorite of that series, although I haven't been able to really play 4 or much of the other games. I really enjoyed both of the Wii games though. I've been wanting to play Story of Seasons painfully bad, but I have no money :"D. I haven't touched my Animal Crossing New Leaf in months :"D I need to time travel back so all my villagers are still there, but it'll be so much work to catch up :"D I hope to stick around as well! So far it looks like it'll be a fun community :3 This post has been edited by Spectre: Sep 28 2015, 04:52 AM |

Hi, welcome to our humble abode. I have also heard things about you from Dani. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasmile.gif)
I studied Japanese for several years, though I haven't had anything formal in quite a while. I'm pretty sure you're the one I had to translate error messages for... Anyway, my favorite HM game of all time is HM64, though I'm also a big fan of Hero of Leaf Valley and most of the later handheld titles. (With A New Beginning being the sole exception. I hated that game.) It's a shame, but A Wonderful Life was actually the game the killed the series for me almost entirely until Welcome to the Wind Bazaar came out in Japan. I just didn't like the setup or the focus on child rearing much. Also, you can't time travel to get villagers back in Animal Crossing. Once they're gone, they're gone. You'll just have to let new ones move in. In fact, time traveling long distances forward or backward will make MORE villagers move/want to move. You're better off just picking up wherever you happen to be in time and moving forward with things. If you want to take a break and not have anyone move out on you, you'll need to make sure that you prevent a villager from moving that day. The 'moving villager' check the game does only happens when you load the game up the first time that day, so no one will decide to move until the next time you play. Regardless, it's nice to meet you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/emot-iia.png) |

Those games are still giving me issues all over the place too, but I can't do much about it now aha. Thanks for your help with it though! I was at least able to get one of them to work after you translated one of those messages. I haven't played too many of the handheld ones. I just think that I think very highly of A Wonderful Life mainly because that was the first one I played and the one I played for the longest amount of time. It's got a special place in my heart. I really want to play some of the newer Harvest Moon games though. I feel so behind in the series. Nice to meet you too! |

If you ever need a hand with Japanese feel free to ask me or Mizuki.
I haven't really studied since high school but I'm planning on doing lessons again next year. I got up to the end of the plot where you had to befriend lots of villagers to save the Harvest Goddess, but I never really spoke to anybody because it was too bothersome...(and boring). I didn't get married either. . A .;; I bought Rune Factory 3 in Japan so I haven't played my copy yet since I've been behind on my Japanese. I also own Hero of Leaf Valley and Grand Bazaar in Japanese. And I'm up to the ice dungeon in Frontier, but I haven't picked up the game in a while since I've mostly been playing handheld titles recently. I've played A Wonderful Life special edition. I'm right at the end of the game but I haven't finished it, man. Going back to those really slow loading screens is painful. ; o ; |
