I been trying to be friend the animals but I'm not getting any of the hearts to color in how do I get the animals to be my friends (the wild and the domestic like the dog)

Generally just picking them up, and with certain animals brushing them gets hearts. Wild animals in Magical Melody can be befriended by just picking them up every day for a while. Like anyone though, it can take a bit.
