Hey guys. :) I know it's been a while since I've posted but things have been hella busy. I have, as always, been working my regular job, which got really demanding through the end of January and all of February, but has now started to ease up some. I've also been going to the gym for a contest at my work. I go normally, but the objective is to lose as much weight as possible, so I've been going extra hard. It's challenging for me because I don't have much to lose, so I've got to be very tactful in how I do it, so as not to eat away at the muscle I have.

There has also been streaming, which takes up the last part of my day, leaving very little to do anything extra. But when I'm not streaming, I'm sleeping, and by sleeping, I mean laying down in my bed and playing one of my handhelds. I recently beat Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, but I still can't seem to bring myself to play through the rest of Bravely Default. Digging through my games, I thought to give HM: TToTT a go. I suppose I was just itching to play one of the many I haven't even started yet.

So I liked the idea of keeping a 'journal' of progress through the HM games you are playing. Because of this, I've decided to do the same. I won't be doing it in first person of the character though. I'll just use this thread to keep you all posted on my progress and such.

I want to start by saying I am immediately impressed by the game right off the bat. It is very fluid and not restrictive in the beginning, which is nice. I started in Konohana for the simple aspect of I enjoy farming more than taking care of the animals, only to find out my entire town is very Easternized and RED. Bah. Oh well. I've already got a nice source of cash coming in from all the seed that you get everywhere, and the fact that you can literally dig up your whole land everywhere is just amazing.

I'm about five days in or so, so it's still really early, but the new villagers are pretty cool to be around. I don't recognize them from previous games, but it seems like they were in some of the ones I never bought. I also think the objective of this game seems more clear cut and attainable than in previous games. The visuals are very nice to look at as well.

I'd say my only gripe is that this is my first game where time doesn't stop when you are in a building, so you have to really just keep moving constantly unless you open your rucksack every two minutes to think about what you want to do next. It's not necessarily a problem more than it is me just getting used to it. I've had plenty of time to do all I've needed so far, so it's not been a hindrance yet.

Overall this is the first game I've REALLY enjoyed since HM64, so I'm pretty happy about that. I hope things continue on this way.

Character Name: Peter (how original, right?)
Gender: M
Horse: Fionn
Farm: Helena (I don't know why, but I've used this since forever)
Potential Love Interest: Reina or Georgia... can't quite decide yet.

The grand majority of the cast is unique to this game. In the very beginning, the only people you'll see from past games are Mucho, Hucho, and Lucho from Welcome to the Wind Bazaar. (I don't remember their English names, but they're the Mexican triplets that own the general stores.) Later on in the game, Dirka (also from Welcome to the Wind Bazaar) will move to Konohana and act as the mailman, and Roven and Ariella from Island of Happiness/Sunshine Islands (I think Roven is called.... Nathan in English...? Maybe?) eventually move into the church in Bluebell. Aside from that, the only other non-unique characters you'll see are Pierre, who took over as Gourmet/Cooking Contest Judge in every handheld game after Harvest Moon DS, and the Harvest Goddess, who they've been using more or less the same design for since HM64 with a few exceptions.

However, two of the characters from this game are in Tsunagaru Daichi, the newest game, which I'm pretty happy about. Licorice is one of my favorite characters. =w=

I guess this goes to show you that despite owning almost all of the games, how little I've played of them. I just saw the "Gourmet" for the contest yesterday and why the helk is he so adorable?! Sheesh. <3

Sorry, I only know these people by their English names, so I had to look up who Licorice even was. But yes, she's quite adorable, and I'm excited to get to know both of the potential candidates and see which one I end up with.

One thing out of all of this that I realized after now playing for an in-game week: how much I really missed this franchise. I'm really taking to TToTT a lot, and find myself enjoying it more and more.

-EDIT- Just is it me, or does it seem like this game is a) very easy to collect money on and b) moving much faster timeline wise. I feel like in the old games, it took quite a while to get financially stable enough to support animals, and yet here I am already on day 8 with a calf and chick.

Also, if anyone has a name for my calf, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm terrible with naming my animals.

I think forging in the mountain is why you can earn money so fast.
