So, yeah. This is the topic for our annual get-together to play through some Harvest Moon goodness over the Summer. With it coming in quick, and with some great games to burn time until their release, I think it's a good a time as any to kick back and pull out some old favorites. This isn't going to be limited to any particular game(s), just pick and choose your favorite one(s) and play along with everyone else. Feel free to make your own topic, post here, or just comment on everyone else's playthrough!
I'm thinking of picking up either Rune Factory Frontier or Tree of Tranquility. I never did a re-play of ToT because AP came out a bit too soon and I just never got around to doing another run of RFF. Maybe I'll do both... |

Hmmmm..... I'm never very good at keeping up with these for extended periods of time.
If I'm starting fresh I'll probably either play Twin Villages, GBC 2, or HM64. Motivating myself through the first spring in Twin Villages is really, really hard, but once I get rolling it's great fun. In HM64, I can knock out a year in a single sitting without even thinking about it... and I don't think I've ever gotten beyond the first year in GBC 2. I'm also kinda tempted to erase my old girl file on Welcome to the Wind Bazaar and start a new one. Choices, choices. |

I have GBC2 and GB3 that I haven't gotten to play yet... I have a hard time playing hand helds. But I might try it.

That's the sensible thing everyone expected when the feature was first shown, then the game came out and NOPE. It sucked.

I've always wanted to take screenshots of my games but I never knew what tools to purchase and didn't look into at all. :<
If I do have enough time, I might chime in with Rune Factory Frontier (Which I'm half-way through), maybe try to restart one of my Japanese ones but kanji takes too long to translate so maybe not, or one of the older Harvest Moons. |

Is there any way to hook your DS to the tv and play that way?

No, unfortunately. The most we've had was mentions that a DS Virtual console may be possible on Wii U, but who knows when they'd do that.
There are super funky capture devices/mods out there though. They're... kind of expensive though. |

Well that sucks. I'd love to play a New Beginning on the tv. I decided since I can't play ToT/AP until I get a new mote that I'd start playing Another Wonderful life.

Started my summer play. The game? Oh come on. This is me, what the hell do you think it is?
This summer I'm doing an all picture run. It's gonna be lots of fun. Though Elli's picture may be a pain in my ass. We'll see. Also, I'm playing this on my physical cartridge rather than an emulator, so no pictures, though, if I actually make it to the evaluation, I'll try and take a picture of my photo album with a camera or something. Name: Gary Farm: Oak Farm Date: Spring 10th, Year 1 Dog: Eevee Horse: Ponyta Recipes collected: 6 This first week always sucks. Some playthroughs I prioritize cleaning up my field and earning money over interacting with villagers, but that's just not gonna work this time. I've gotta get Maria's affection up to a pink heart before the end of summer, which means talking and gifts every single day. As soon as I get enough money to buy a chicken, I'm gonna need to start wooing Elli too. Her picture's pretty early on in Fall. (I'd start now, but time and money constraints are a problem.) Other villagers I'm working on include Duke, the Harvest Sprites, and Rick. I'm not too worried about befriending anyone else at this point, but another goal of mine is to have 16 or more villagers at maximum friendship. I haven't really decided who I'm going to marry yet, but I can tell you straight up that it won't be Ann or Elli. Elli's too boring and marrying Ann will mean that Cliff will leave. Which is just no. Oh yeah, if anyone has suggestions for six-letter-or-less Pokemon names that I can use for my animals, that'd be awesome. Pidgey and Fearow are already on the list, as are Mareep and Flaaffy. (Which will be spelled with one f instead of two to fit.) Tauros is a likely candidate. But other names are all welcome. |

I'm gonna do that during the last week of summer. Karen's picture is the Kifu Fairy Dance, which takes place on Fall 7th, and can't be triggered unless you save the vineyard - something I'm working on accomplishing right now. I suppose if I really wanted to, I could woo Karen the traditional way, but that'll just take more time out of my already far too short day.
And Cubone is an awesome name. I'm imagining an adorable, fluffy sheep named Cubone now. 8D |

I remember getting Kifu. And I got Popuri's as well. And Ann's I think, too. But I don't remember the other photos.
I know I did it after reading that you could, haha. I've only played once though so...I don't know what route I'll go next time. Stick a skull on top of that fluffy sheep's head. B] |

Oh boy! I may be busy today, but I'll try to get started and posting tomorrow. Think I'm gonna go with AP, but other than that I don't have much of a game plan as to who I'll marry, and what I'll be aiming for. I just know that I'm going to be using the newer male model they offered in AP, rather than the older male model you can pick which was the same one from ToT.
