is there ANYTHING special about the pricier cameras? I mean, you even get to keep your old one! what's the point in getting more of the same? just looks? I mean, the luxurious cookware does no better than the normal. is that the case here?

I believe that the better the camera you have, the more pictures it can hold in its memory. Basicly, you get a larger album.
