If you could take all the features you like from past Harvest Moon games, and put them in an upcoming game, what features would you choose?

How about for bachelor/ettes? Any that you'd like to return?
What about animals?

Buuuuuut, I always like a family with more depth and I think AWL took that kind of step.
I want fast-paced action like in the old 64/BtN days - but it's understandable they extended the time in the day due to more things being available to do. But the newer games (Err, ToT for me) tend to have these slow movement animations and were kind of sluggish. In the old games everything was done in a flash.
I like that they've upped customisation and I'm sure that's fun, but I am actually content with just a plain old Jack. Customisation isn't a necessity for me in HM games.
And I want the village to be more integrated. More events between the villagers, have them talk about each other, make them like an actual community. I know 64 had lots of events that weren't just between candidates and that was great.
And while some magical elements, like a Harvest Goddess and sprites is good, I prefer the "Save the farm" idea over "THE GODDESS IS DYING" or such. I like how it's like trying to revitalise farmlands in the world and it feels more appropriate to Harvest Moon, in my opinion. And those storylines tend to let you do what you kind of want more.....in a way. I'm not sure how to explain myself here though so I'll stop. :q
And festivals that are fun. I freaking loved the Tomato Festival in BtN, then when I went into the MM events and found out all you do is stand there in most of them.......:/
