Yaaay. :D
HSC = Higher School Certificate PLEASE POST SO I CAN FINISH SCHOOL. Anyway, I'll be posting in this topic probably just my Visual Arts and Extension 2 major works. My monologue for drama would require video and I don't know how Youtube works. Anyway, right now, I'd really appreciate suggestions for my artwork riiiight here! Old one so you can play spot the difference (CHRONO TRIGGER). I have to do some made up journal work since I don't have any notes from my previous planning. Essentially, it's working within the cultural frame of the video game community, focusing on me and my friends. I'm using post-modern techniques of appropriating video games into my friends (or whatever) comedically through the commonly asked question and meme, "What if video games were real?" That'd be weird that's what. But I'm running on jokes that an audience interested in a wide variety of games would understand. And....I have to hand in a statement with it since it's so specific. So I really have to see if I do have any of my old notes lying around somewhere. X( I fixed some of the old pictures up, upped contrast on all of them, and changed the text so far. What I would like from YOU, is suggestions for new boxes for different games! The only one I will so far definitely add is actually saying bye to the video games. It will probably be the biggest picture. Other than that, I would like more pictures for the smaller sections towards the end, or suggestions for new plot to add pictures to! Other suggestions I would appreciate arrre, telling me how I should present this, should I have time. If I don't have time, I'm simply handing it in on a thumbdrive. Another teacher recommended me to do a digital book, turning the pages. Another said light boxes, but those are expensive. Printing it out nicely and some sort of collage? Suggest anything! tl;dr Look at my picture and tell me video game jokes I could do. |

Yeah, after looking at it, I was definitely going to suggest adding some pictures showing the world going back to normal, since I feel that would close it better than a simple text explanation. You know, end it where you began it, with people playing video games normally again.
If you've lost all of your notes, you might want to take a look back in the picture thread when you first started showing us the project and asking for ideas and suggestions, and using that to at least try and see/remember where your thoughts were when creating. If you need anything specific on the games that you made references to themselves, I'm pretty sure that we can all help with that. I'd like to say that I really like the new expression the chef lady has. I think it works far better with what she's doing. On the other hand, I think that some of the text updates are a little awkward. In the Sims panel, I think that the sentence there would probably sound a lot better if you moved 'all of a sudden' to the end of the sentence. As it is, it just feels a little clunky. I'm also not a huge fan of the text update in the zombie panel. I liked the "I just wanted to buy a dress..." line much better, and the new one feels weird, since there isn't really a such thing as a 'baseball bat store'. There are sports stores and baseball specialty stores, but stores catering specifically to bats aren't exactly common. You'd probably be hardpressed to find one anywhere other than online. (If you could even find one there. The chances that such a place also offers other baseball equipment would be extremely high.) I don't mind the change to the Super Mushroom panel too much, though I'm not sure if you actually wanted it to sound like she was being passed drugs by her peers or not. As for putting it all together, I like the book idea, but I think it would be more fun if you printed them out and made it more like a picture book or comic book. I also think that since every picture in the set is the same size, even your final pictures should be that size. If you want to make a much larger picture for it, drawing it all and then splitting it into panels might work for that. (Or just making it the same size as a certain number of panels put together in order to keep the illusion of uniformity.) So far you've got two sections of three, two sections of six, and then three sections that need to be expanded upon that only have one or two pictures. If you could get all of those sections up to multiples of three, you could make your large picture the same size as six panels and not have it look too out of place, simply depending on how you present the whole series. |

Yep. I'm not sure when I'll get to do it but hopefully after trials at least I can start working on it.
I thiiiiink I may have the old art book from last year in my wardrobe, so here's hoping, haha. I need to add stuff anyway since I was lazy with it. I'll change Sims and Zombie back then, and that was intended to be drugs, yes. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) I like the idea of a physical comic book, but I'm not sure of the materials and where to get that printed at. And I'd have to do a title page...then again, the pictures are really small that way and I think they expect it to be appreciated on a larger scale? I'm not too sure. So guys! If you can help come up with some jokes for: - The heroes panel (2) - The boss panel (1) - The glitch panel (2) For this, I would be eternally grateful. And something else....seeing as they're caricatures of my friends, a good idea for my journal would probably to have photos of who I'm drawing in it....so for those of you in there..........can you PM me a photo of you (or of at least when you looked like how you do in my thingo)? EDIT: I find it hard to stop swapping to and back from the Pokemon and Chrono Trigger boxes. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) |

Draw me fighting the big bad Dragon Age archdemon and make it supar cool. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/emot-kraken.gif)
There's no joke that I can think of, except even if you're a mage, the cutscene plays of your person grabbing a sword and jumping on top of it to stab it in the head..... Maybe just something about how there's the super dramatic cutscene every time you defeat a boss in games? I feel like for some of the boxes the speech bubble is overly large. Draw the scary animal people glitch from Red Dead Redemption. |

"Shopping is so fun!"
"Team Rocket is harassing people again." "It's never the last boss! NEVER!" And then most of the ones for the Bully one, particularly my bubble and the mommy one. heheheh..... There's nothing really recognizable about Dragon Age from what I can think, unless you want to draw the people wearing the game characters' clothing. There's lots of nice moments and stuff, but nothing that would make people say "yep, that's Dragon Age." |

Oh! You could put the Sonic one in the glitch section. Sonic 06 is NOTORIOUS for having terrible glitches. You can be doing everything right and just randomly get stuck IN THE WALL, and one glitch that people love pointing out is that you can get shot into space during the fight with Silver. It's pretty great, and I wouldn't mind being in it, since I own the game and have played it.
I'm also thinking Dynasty Warriors could fit in there somewhere... and you could probably make a joke on wanting to read the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, not take part in it. (Like, I dunno. Have whatever friend you put in there holding a book with that title and freaking out about the ancient chinese war going on around them.) |

I remember nearly getting stuck in the wall in Mario 64....Sometimes clunky camera controls jerk me off. >:0
I only have a few more boxes left and I haven't started drawing new ones yet so I'll see! Thanks for the suggestions, I'll probably get to it after trials. |

I once crashed into a building, got flung out the front window, and glitched inside the building on Saints Row 3. It was funny at first since the guys who were chasing me couldn't find me and decided to leave me alone, but then I couldn't get out so I had to reload.....
