Do I have to have married townies up to a certain number of hearts before those couples start having children?

I think couples start having children a season after they married.

I walked into Jin's house and *poof*. Hey... meet our new baby! LOL I thought there would be more of a cut scene like I would leave my house and see Anissa and Jin in the clinic or something. So I guess that answers my question about the hearts.
