DIPLOMACY: The New World (IMG:http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y133/MagicPants/diplomacybanner.png) Become the ruler of your own country! The continent of Liebe (pronounced LEE-beh) is a wonderful place where all sorts of strange things can be found, like the Chocolate Forest, the Waterslide of the Gods, or the Golden Tower. This land is populated with all kinds of people, many of whom would like to unite the continent under their own country. Ask yourself, wouldn't you like to rule this amazing new world? Each player gets a country to rule and can be as creative as they like in designing it, from the name to the color and whatever other details they want to include. For signing up, you get a Lindstrom drawn set of yourself for the game (you don't have to use it if you don't want to of course). If you want, you can even team up with other members to joinly rule your country. The goal of the game is to take over most of the continent of Liebe. HOW TO PLAY After signing up, I assign the players their countries on the map. The game is played like Werewolf in that everyone goes at the same time and is played in rounds. Unlike Werewolf, though, all moves are sent to me in a PM. After I recieve everyone's moves, they all are played out at the same time, and depending on your strategy, you might succeed in taking some more land. - Everyone has land and sea pieces (stars and anchors). Only one unit can be in a region at a time. - Each piece can be issued a command each round. - Each piece has the same strength. To overcome an enemy, you must outnumber them. To defend, gather your troops to back eachother up. - Make alliances with other players to help you achieve your goals, though nothing is set in stone so you can always backstab them and take their land too! - Rounds are the "Morning" and "Night" of each "Day". These "times" apply only to the game world, with each "time" ending after I have received everyone's orders. - Regions with sun symbols on them are called "Power Centers". For each Power Center your country owns at the end of a game day (Night), you gain an additional piece (which you place in the Morning rounds). If you lose them to your enemies, you'll lose pieces. - The game ends when one player has more than half of the Power Centers under their rule at the end of a game day (Night). - If you get confused or stuck, ask me for suggestions or help with understanding the rules better. - Check the map regularly! It gets updated with the latest news. COMMANDS: MOVE: Each unit you have can MOVE to a region that borders where they are currently. Land units (stars) can only move accross land. Sea units (anchors) can move across oceans and into coastal land regions. If you and an enemy MOVE into the same area, you both cancel out eachother's MOVE and keep your original position. SUPPORT: To overcome an enemy, you need another piece to be next to the area you want to take over and SUPPORT the first piece's MOVE. Only by outnumbering the enemy can you overpower them. To defend yourself from being outnumbered, you SUPPORT a piece with nearby pieces. HOLD: The command to "do nothing", cuz sometimes there's nothing good to do. CONVOY: Stuck on an island? You can have land pieces travel accross the ocean if you have sea pieces connecting 2 shores. Pretty useful! To sign up, post your name in BOLD. If playing on a team with someone, say so. If you want to be on a team but don't have a teammate, say that. Lenyo is so in. The fact it's Fire Emblem themed, and has NASIR on the cover sold it for me, completely.
Edit: Also, I think Toast and I would make a killer team, man. Edit 2: Also, I can't remember if that Pegasus Knight is Tate or Thany, I think it's Tate. Also, YAAAAAAAAHN. |

Hasfusel, evidently. I might share with Christopher if he wants to, I don't mind someone else.
Don't pick a colour, but wait till the initial map is posted so you can pick a position. |

Mizukithepanda is in. I honestly don't mind being paired up with someone if the need arises. That said, I'd appreciate if it wasn't someone too domineering - we'd get into far too many arguments.

"My only regret is, I didn't build strong enough diplomatic ties with Funland!" Christopher! is down for this game as long as he is paired with Hasfusel. |

With the surprising amount of people who have signed up, I've decided to run 2 separate games instead of forcing people into random teams. Sign ups will continue til Friday.
you can pick your color if you really care about that, I suppose, but the second I start seeing people argue over blue... |

If they're both Fire Emblem based, I'm cool with it.

Are we playing both games at once? As long as it doesn't get confusing for you. Maybe when we send our moves in we could have some kind of way to indicate which moves are for which game, like a Red game and a Blue game or whatever. If we name our countries and territories, it'll be easier to notice.
Maybe we could have one game for less experienced players, and another for more experienced. Do we actually 14 players? Otherwise some people might have to play in both. I think it might be more simple to proceed as before and just put people in pairs. It solves problems with not having time to make moves, prevents the game from being screwed by people leaving and lets people come up with more developed, discussed strategies. Also, people will be less likely to make silly mistakes and such. |

I am willing to be paired up with Mizukithepanda. She can decide everything and I will merely advise as needed....that is, if she is willing and desires to.

The problem with putting people into teams is that if those two people don't communicate regularly, there'll be problems, either being a disagreement on strategies, or that they're so indecisive that they won't make a move til the other person agrees with it. I'd prefer people only be on teams if they want to. I can handle running 2 games no problem so don't worry about that. Also, the number of people in a game isn't a big deal as long as there are less than 7 total countries.

We've currently got 13 players, which I suppose would mean six pairs and one individual player.
Here's the proposed list: Toast & Lenyo Mizuki & EBWonder Totoro Spirit & Twilight Wanderer Hasfusel & Christopher These pairs will have no problems, I think. Calliope, HMR, Kozunai, ZBoy and Guitar Smasher will need to make arrangements, as I don't know who would be happiest with who. I'd advise Guitar Smasher on his own and then Calliope & Kozunai and HMR & Zboy. |
