So, I'm sure we've all noticed that RS has been pretty inactive (or at least not as busy as other times).
I believe it might be a good idea to start brainstorming some ways we can help RS get back to its busy days. Maybe we could come up with some big event that members can participate in? Maybe we can think up ways to advertise? Thing is, we need more people to seriously provide ideas on whatever. Again, serious ideas. Or maybe you don't think we should do anything, because it just won't help? |

I still think a primary thing we need is a front page redesign. Also, a REALLY basic thing to those whom wander around other sites actively would be maybe including a quick link in their signatures.

I've been thinking about it, and I honestly feel like getting the Wiki more filled out and looking nice would help. I mean, I think part of the reason Fogu is still going is because they have one of, if not the best, Animal Parade help sections out there.
Quick links in our signitures is a good idea, too. However, most forums don't appreciate things like that. |

Yes, the wiki is the primary thing the site even IS now and the most obvious way to help. As for sigvertisements it's true that most sites don't appreciate it (I'm pretty sure we don't even) but that little rule has been omitted from a few I've seen. Pretty sure I've seen hundreds of links in people's signatures on, say, GameFAQs for example.

Hmm, GameFAQs is pretty much the other "community" place I go to. But that's usually only right before a game I want comes out. I could try putting a link on there, though.
I don't remember much of anything to help out with the wiki. But I'm sure I can take a look and see what I can add still.... |

Yes! We should! To both the Facebook and HM game idea.
No, seriously, we could maybe make a computer mini-game of sorts. We have a lot of people with experience on game-making and graphics and such. |

No, we HAD a lot of people with experience in that. Also, facebook page idea seems ridiculous when the site's main thing isn't even set up adequately.

If you guys can get the Wiki up ang going then I think we can make more of a name for ourselfs but so far all I've seen is too much talk and not enough action. Or wait for the next spike of a new Harvest moon game.

We really shouldn't be relying on game spikes although its a given that people scramble all over for help. the wiki seems to be the most feasible and a lot of the new games have little to no info on the hearts events and everything else Like Sunshine islands

The main thing that would bring in new members is a new Harvest Moon or Rune Factory game and since there are no plans for a new HM I suppose we'll have to wait for the influx of members from
It's the only thing that can generate interest, Harvest Moon has always been a niche game and it's become moreso now. A farm sim community is going to be a lot less active than one for tactical multiplayer fps or something. |

I also think the people who are meant to run the site and forum, if they actually did that, that would help. Considering most of the people with any control over the site are rarely ever on here or don't even care about HM anymore.
Also, the signature thing, the only other forums I go on would hate me for that. And plus I never go on any other video game interested websites, they wouldn't even know what I was talking about. The forum has been a bit busier, there seems to be more posts each day compared to a month ago where there was hardly anything going on. Really, this forum is too based on just general chat, and a lot of new people who find this site are probably put off by the fact that we all seem to have been around for awhile and we all know eachother, and we hardly ever post in the HM areas which probably makes them just go straight to other sites where their main focus is HM. I'm not sure if there really is anything we could do to make a steady flow of people visit. Most of the info would need to be updated and more helpful stuff, which I'm not sure if there is anyone on this site who is interested enough to put that work in. I had an idea awhile ago to maybe find someone somewhere else, clearly interested in HM, has some experience with a forum and website, and maybe see if they want to help run it. That maybe the best idea, get a fresh perspective. |

First point makes no sense, because the people who are meant to run the site after it transitioned into a wiki is any and every one. The only actual issue is overall presentation, which the wiki itself is fine (more or less) but the actual front page is almost completely irrelevant now.
Making sure the RFO section is robust before it releases would probably be a good idea though. |

Because Saffy left in the middle of everything. Kyle apparently disallowed usage of his sprites on the new page, and so we were stuck at the graphics portion.
Perhaps we could get together (those of us who can, anyway) and commission someone on deviant art or something to create usable graphics for us? That might at least help us get the front page revamped... |

So we're still stuck on graphics. V.V;
I'd like to help there, but I don't know if I can. I do know how to colour my own pictures now though; http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc331/p...ow_Coloured.png from http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc331/p...t/EMBM_Mist.png I could try my hand at some Harvest Moon Characters or something if you really wanted. I say I become admin.
I's kidding. Yeah, RS seemed to be dying a bit of time before I left. The bar may have always been active, but eh, when I left, I didn't see much other than the bar doing anything (bear in mind, I haven't been here in forever so don't jump on me for saying that.) I say the wiki that I remember not having reached completion was an opportunity to help stave off inactivity. Then again, I was always more along the lines of "This website should be a wiki and this forum should be the wiki's forum" but I can't imagine too many people going for that. I forgot what I was going to say. Tl;dr version: I'll be posting more on here because of Summer and whatnot. |

If we call support my mindless email spam compeition I entered http://c.kogan.com.au/c/eofy/BPnXSQS9/ we can unfy ourselfs ;)
I mean. What we need is a plan. And a team- an A team! I come here for the Bar, clearly- occasionally I post in the other threads but Harvest Moon isn't a strong interest of mine- well it is to a point- if theres no new title, I'm not going to be ravaging about the series- and even then it has to be a dam good new title. The community for other general threads are bleak- the Bar is the place to be. |
