I always gather wild plants first, then give the flowers to locals and sell the rest. Of course I like to get all those I can marry to fall in love with me, so for me this way is the only way.

Hmmmmm.....It really varys for me....It just deepens on the HM...
AWL: I planted a few seeds, got a chicken when I had enough money, started working towards my future wife, and admired the night sky....Oh! I also played that one triangle mini game... FOMT and DS: I do this in most of my HM games... I'll do a little work on the farm...Then Harvest a lot, until I have money to start planting.... 64: Clear most of my field and harvest a lot...Also introduce myself to the town people MM: I harvested some, planted a little, and talked to all the people....I also tried doing a lot things to get a lot of notes....I had like 15 notes on day 3 or so on my second file (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Rune Factory: I basically mined and fought monsters most of the time....I just mined in easy to reach places in the caves ^-^....I met everyone in the town and went to the bathes like everyday.... |

On the first day I don't do anything farmy at all. I introduce myself to people, then for a while forage and mine until I can afford a chicken (And maybe a shed). After that it isn't very firstish. It'd be confusing.

Um, when I start playing a new HM game I've never played before, I play for like 3 days to explore and know the basics, the shops and everything .. And then I restart the whole game without saving my first file and start doing stuff on the first week .. Foraging, buying seeds and planting them, mining, talking to people, and giving gifts to villagers and girls! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasmile.gif)

My first day is completely spent clearing my land and planting the seeds provided at the beginning, then I talk to each villager and flop into bed exhausted.
I then concentrate on socialising and crop growing; getting extra buildings built if the game allows. I get a few animals around the middle of Summer, which is the time I start mining - by now I'll have a nice wad of money, which can be spent on presents and tool upgrades. I am Teh King Of Teh Castle when it comes to games, however. Like a British Lil' Poison, except I actually do other things as well. |

I usually get to know everyone in town, and just explore my area and learn certain peoples schedules. I usually start off by focusing on the girl I want to marry...but Kotomi doesn't start off in the game (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasad.gif)
I also get a little bit of crops and try to at least get a cow and some chikens. But that might not happen the first week. |

I usually start by clearing the land and planting crops. Then move on to meeting everyone, and foraging. If I don't have a fishing rod, then I try to get it asap.
I avoid mining like the plague, and try to get a chicken coop and chicken by the end of spring and a barn with a cow or sheep by the end of summer. |

I usually walk around and get to know the area better. While wandering, I scavenge whatever I can find to sell later on or, in some cases, for gifts. Hopefully, I end up getting a fishing rod. If not, I save up money for a fishing rod. After getting enough money from fishing, I have a barn or chicken coop built, or, if the barn is already built, I purchase an animal. I do not normally fuss around with crops at all.

On the first day, I clear up some land until many of the shops open. Then I go out to buy seeds (if the shop is open) and meet everyone while I'm out. When the stores close or I've met everyone (whichever comes first), I go home and plant the seeds.
Within the first week, once I'm done getting lost, I've got a good number of crops going, and depending on who I'm going to woo and the price of livestock in the particular game, I may even have some livestock. For example, if I were marrying Renee in AP, I could get a cow very early on and once it grows up, start bringing her hot milk every day, because livestock is relatively cheap compared to crop selling prices. If I'm playing 64 and marrying Elli, I'll just get a chicken and give her eggs. But if I'm going after Gill in ToT, who can easily be won over with a cold glass of tomato juice, I don't bother with livestock until much later on in the game. Then I start immediately with the flirting and get married as soon as possible. Not until after I'm married do I concern myself with other friendship, storyline completion (unless I've already sped through the storyline to unlock my spouse), or becoming Richer Than God. Usually livestock, even; unless it's useful in my Quest to Marry Someone Extremely Amazing, I don't bother with animals until after I'm married. |

I usually start out by clearing as much of my field as I can, then hopefully by then a farming store will open, and I can go buy seeds to plant. Then I go, and flirt with the eligibles or anyone important to the main story.

I usually clear the lot out from weeds.
Then I go around exploring to learn my locations. Then I like to harvest what I can and sell it. |
