I think this game looks pretty retarded if you ask me.

I doubt anything will bring them back after they bombed with the older Sonic Riders.

The last good game they had in my opinion would probably be Sonic Adventure 2: Battle.

Though I know a lot of people would complain with my opinion.

Personally, I just think games nowadays are just copying off of how successful Twilight Princess was with introducing the werewolf transformation trait =/

I don't see how a racing spin-off has anything to do with it =\

I just think that after Sonic Riders, everything went down-hill for Sonic Team.

Crush 40 doesn't even play the main themes for the games anymore which kinda irritates me cause they made some pretty amazing songs JUST for the games.

I personally don't think Sonic will be coming back from an early retirement, unless this game goes back to the original Sonic Adventure or Sonic Adventure 2 roots.

Sonic Riders was pretty terrible, yeah, but Sonic Rush was great and I love Hideki Naganuma as a music-man. Their biggest and most notable failure however was easily Sonic 2006. The gameplay and everything was absolutely terrible and messily bugged up with a bunch of really bad design decisions. Things like Akon ruining the Sonic 2 ending music was just another big knee to the groin to fans. This game looks like some actual time might have been put into it, instead of being a rushed mess thankfully.

Of course, before all optimism, it's good to remember this:

Akon terribly ruined the game music.

That's why Crush 40 actually did a better version of His World. Without them, the game tracks suck.

They sang Live and Learn - Sonic Adventure 2, Open Your Heart - Sonic Adventure, What I'm Made Of - Sonic Heroes, Sonic Heroes(Main Theme) - Sonic Heroes, I Am(All Of Me) - Shadow The Hedgehog.

They were like the greatest full Japanese American group EVER.

Why they quit making songs for the game I'll never know.

Well, I'd strongly have to dissagree with the theory of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. I really can't see how it was his final greatest game. What many fail to realize is that shortly after, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this date, Sonic 2 Battle was released in the USA, Sonics original creator and such, Yuji, quit Sonic Team and SEGA all together to create his own gamming industry. Which, I have yet to see ANY games from. Shortly after Yuji quit, Sonic Team replaced Yuji with a different employee which after what I've seen after the past seven to eight years, knows very little about sonic except that he has beach stages, is really fast, and turns super. His first creation was Sonic Heroes, which everyone knows, is the game that put sweights on sonics shoes and locked up the characters for last place in the gamming world. It is due to Yuji's retirement from the company that sonic has become such a failure. Without the true mastermind of sonic to guide him, sonic has lost his path in a forever failing void. BUT! I still believe that his games have been somewhat interesting. Sonic Riders really wasn't all that bad, especially the unlockable 2 sega stages, and the other great unlockable, super sonic. The graphics wasn't really a complete bust when you think about it. I'd say it's the best looking sonic game on the gamecube/ps2. Especially how they focused on making their hands actually look like hands instead of pointy stick fingers on square palms. The other Sonic, which everyone seems to call Sonic 06, was really great as well to me. I like the new system they used to make the screen blur up when you played sonic's mach speed levels. And the way they made his spinning and jumping look wasn't half bad either. I admit the whole, (save the princess) thing was different, but it wasn't a terrible idea. The scenarios were really awsome, especially the intro and ending to sonics story. Now a letdown was the addition of the hedgehog, silver, but hey, ALL games have a weak side. It just so happens that the addition of new characters is sonic's. They have, in my opinion, come a long way with the graphics in the new sonic generation. Even though there's a new man behind sonic, his games haven't truly been...How should I put it?...Garbage since SA2B. I think sonic has come a long way and will still carry on in the future. Hopefully one that will bring him back to the right side of the road, or in some countries, the left side. Now, one more thing I must point out is what seems to be everyones craving for a more...2D sonic game. Sonic Team has been slowly approaching this idea ever since Sonic and the secret rings for wii. Admitedly, the game wasn't that great due to it's glitches and lack of stability and control. And what made it worse was the pre-set path you HAD to follow. They realize that was a mistake and they are making sonic unleashed completely controlable. You can go back and forth at you're own will and control sonics path as you wish. This being good news to alot of audiences, I really hope that people will once again love sonic as they did back in the 90s and early 00-03 as they experience these great new games, but only time, luck, and taste, will determine just how sonic will turn out.

I'm confused, did you yourself say SA2 was the last good Sonic game? It wasn't, but thats what you said. Unless you are talking about music, in which case I didn't catch because it was too long, and I didn't read it.

I prefer the Zebrahead version of His World.

WALL OF TEXT

Also, about said wall, I can honestly say that I can't trust anyone who refers to Sonic '06 as anything beyond "Horrible." The game was unstable, buggy, slow paced, and just all around not fun to play. I also don't get why anyone can complain about the "on-rails" feeling of Sonic and the Secret Rings. All the 2-D games are the same basic idea after all =\

Stop putting B at the end of SA2 or I will be forced to set an orphanage on fire.

To Tolby - No, I didn't say I dislike sonic, just dissaproove some of the teams choices and especially Yujis retirement from sega. The only one I have to blame for sonics recent failures is Yuji Naka.

To Darth Paper Boy - I didn't say sonic 06 was perfect, I said the main thing I liked about it, which indeed may be the only thing, is the graphics. I admit the game had it's fair share of bugs and such, but you must say the graphics weren't terrible. Which is the main, if not only, reason I like the games. And yes, all 2D games have the same concept, but you aren't forced to move when you don't want to. I like being able to stop whenever I want to, turn around whenever I please, etc, so basically, give me a new 2D/3D sonic with great controls, and I'm good to go.

Really? I kinda like the song. Maybe it's just because my speakers sound different than others.

Really really looking foward to the Sonic gameplay, not so sure about the werewolf part... Looks ok, but it also looks like it could be made horribly really easily.

Dynasty Warriors: Sonic?

The first half of the gameplay trailers wasn't really anything new, but I am glad to see that it stayed the same and they didn't suckify it. I'm glad I finally got to see some werewolf gameplay, but like I said, I have mixed feelings about that. It could be fun, or it could be horribly shitty like Shadow The Hedgehog.

Well, as far as the werewolf gameplay goes, all I can say is that only time, and more work from the employees, will tell. I am glad that you enjoyed the E3 footage though. In my opinion I think the razor sharp claw combat could be fairly interesting, not to mention the stretchy arms, adds a sence of humor to it. I think this just may be the one to bring sonic out of...5th...and maybe with luck, up to 3rd. But hey, we will see!
