Day One Options

When you first start a Harvest Moon game, what do you normally do? It doesn't have to be just the first day, but maybe even the first week or season. What are your goals?

My first priority is usually to clear land and start getting a few patches of crops growing (usually 2). I'll forage to get some sort of an income. Throughout the week I'll try to have talked to everyone, with all of their first scenes being done within the first day or two.

Probably to clear alot (or in the case of MM all) of the field to plant crops in the beggining. I get finished talking to everyone in the first week I guess. I save up money for more crops and tools. Sooner by the end of the first season I get animals.

I usually try to fill up the chicken coop by the end of the Spring, or enlarge it in the case of BTN.

Mine is always just to wander around and talk to people, and work on getting a cow. Because I love cows.

But I actually [finally, more of] got More Friends Of Mineral Town yesterday. And I cleared the field of everything that I could without upgraded tools, and then all these weeds came back, so I gave up on keeping the whole thing weedless. Only the parts where I'm growing the crops.

I normally clear some of the land. I clear it and I plant some crops and grass. Then I walk around and meet all the villagers and then I go fishing or go mining to earn some G.

I usually plant crops and then sell them, save up to buy a Chicken Coop/Barn, then buy a cow.

I usually try to get enough money for a chicken and some crops, just to get the ball rolling. Also, gotta start working on my future wife!

I wander around the village, explore and talk to people. I usually buy my first bags of seeds in the first 3 days...

Friends of Mineral Town and Back To Nature the first week what I do is first check out what crop is most profitable then grow that like crazy, then secondly what I do is go to the mine and forage ores and what not and sell them. The first season is literally dedicated to making gold. Then in the summer what I do is go to purchase Pineapple seeds from Won and buy the end of summer I have enough money to buy quite a few things, usually an upgrade or a few cows or something. In the summer after watering I usually then try and go to befriend people not so much as foraging and what not more raising heart and friendship levels.

I usually meet everyone then set an amount of money that I want by the end of the year(ex. 10,000)
I also start romancing my future husband/wife.

When I first start the game, I go exploring. Wandering around the town to see whats there. And talking to anyone I come across.

Eh, I seem to do the same as a lot of people. First day I try to meet most of the people (well, in AWL, you're kind of forced to), clear fields, etc. My first season is spent trying to earn as much gold as possible, and hopefully have a few chickens and if I've made a lot of money, a cow and/or sheep. I don't usually try too much with my marriage options until maybe mid-summer, because I'm greedy and want the money first (then I realise I don't need so much money and try to get a girl/boy--like in Rune Factory, after I started getting a little money, the money just came flowing in and I had way too much--several hundred thousand by the end of the first year, after getting the expansion and everything I could buy for the house, blah blah blah. Who needs that much, I ask you?)

Clear a little land and forage for goods so I can buy a ton of seeds to pull in a large, early harvest.

In the original, since time stopped once it got to 6 PM and you could always go to the hot springs as often as you wanted to heal yourself, if I was up to it I could do as much as clear as much of the field as I wanted and chop all the lumber I needed for the entire game.
