Sonic Unleashed is the newest sonic game comming out this holliday season! Sonic Team is going back to the roots of old as sonic returns to his straight, back and forth, sence of motion. Although there are several parts in the game where you go into a complete 3D motion, mainly when making turns and grinding, this is surely the thing SEGA needs to bring their mascot back into action. Maybe not first in the gamming industry, but certainly far from last. Not to mention the addition of a brand new sonic transformation! By day a hedgehog, and by night, a werehog! It's a whole new spin on the sonic gamming generation! It's time do dash off with yet another addition to the grand sonic franchise! Can you handle the power of the new sonic?... *SYSTEMS* Playstation 2 (Surprisingly) XBox 360 Nintendo Wii Playstation 3 *RELEASE DATE* November/4th-8th/2008 *SEGA/SONICTEAM E3 INTERVIEW* Interview - Part1 Interview - Part2 Interview - Part3 *VIDEOS* Sonic Unleashed - Cutscenes and Gameplay Sonic Unleashed Gameplay Sonic Unleashed Desert/Woodland Gameplay Werewolf Sonic Teaser trailer *MUSIC* Sonic Unleashed Theme Song - Endless Possibilities More cool stuff to come! From what I understand, all major systems are getting it with the Wii getting some sort of special version. In any case, pretty much nothing can bring Sonic back sadly. Most of it's from just plain bad choices made by SEGA and that alone has tainted him enough that it'll be hard for alot of potential fans to really accept him. =\
Also, Sonic Rush already did the 2.5D thing and I think it worked out pretty well. *shrug.* Also, here's my opinion on the werehog thing: (IMG:http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/worthlessnewbie/opb053editcur0060.jpg) edit: Why am I always slow recently? Gah. I blame Shuckle. |

Gah. I blame Shuckle. Well, sega's mistakes has been due to sonic's creator, mr Yuji Naka, quiting sonic team a few years back shortly after sonic 2 battle was released in america. Supposedly he did this to start his own gamming industry. So basically without yuji's sonic mind making the games, they just don't turn out like they used to anymore... |

Hm? I thought Yuji left a bit after that. I was pretty sure at least Sonic Heroes got out before he quit. Maybe something else too.
Probably one of the major things that's been ruining things for Sonic is not only the needless introduction of new characters (Which just bog down the whole SONIC bit down), but also the fact Sega likes to rush the games now (Sonic 2006) and maybe listen to the fans a little too closely. Things like Shadow coming back because he was "teh awsum" even though he served his purpose and had what could've been a memorable death and left as a great character, but, instead, came back to just plain be annoying. =\ |

In sonic unleashed, the only playable characters will be sonic, tails, and knuckles. And the main enemy will be eggman again. This time there won't be any goodie goodie moments between sonic and him. Like teaming up to save the day and such. All the other characters aren't in sonic unleashed from what I know either, and trust me, I know alot about it... |

Well, that's nice to hear. Hopefully they don't do what they did for 2006 and have it be all "Sonic is going to be the only playable character! Oh, you know what? Nevermind. We're going to bog you down with stupid crap again." I had such high hopes for 2006 when it was first announced... Then came Silver and Akon and all this other crap. =\

Glad you like the new's. Personally, I didn't mind sonic 2006 all that much. The cenematics were great, especially the intro and ending to sonic's story, and I liked his theme song "his world" a great deal. The only thing that bothers me is how they made eggman and the characters move during the clips. They moved like robots and were always flailing there arms about. That's probably the only thing that annoyed me about that game. And no problem. I'll make sure to exclude the quotes. Thanks for telling me.

If you think SA2 was the last good Sonic game you need to pick up the Rush series, not the best story, but awesomly fun.
I'm looking forward to unleashed cause it looks like it might be going back to its roots, like Rush. This is pretty old news too... This post has been edited by Tolby: Jun 12 2008, 02:11 AM |

That explains why sonic riders sucked |

Uh huh, I hear ya' Rayne...
And tolby, I've played the rush series. Beaten them both. True, they were pretty good, but seriously not the best...I think they took the Sonic Rush Adventure idea of sea travel off of Zelda's Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass...Not that I purposly want to ditch sonic like this, I'm just saying... |

Didnt say they were the best, I'm saying they are good Sonic games, game worthy of being Sonic games. You acted like the last good game was SA2. |

I know they were good. And they are worthy of being a sonic game. I just wish more time and thought had been put into em'. Sorry if it upsets ya', it's just my opinion.
Now, if I were manager of sonic team, I would do a remake of every single sega genesis sonic game and re-desighn them into 3d format. Make the game's 3d, but keep the moving around back and fourth without all the camera angles just like the classics. I'm sure that would please all the fans. And bring new one's to the series. |

Not a problem. Glad you told me so quickly, I was just about to walk up to the witches hut!
And I guess you're inclined to say that tolby. Maybe the new sonic game will give me a change of heart about the series. |
