I'd encourage you to get this game.
I completed the PS2 one and I'll tell you, its worth it.
The game is incredibly beautiful and its fun.
Also, if you like Japanese culture you'll love this one.

Spoiler:
Anyone got up to Himiko's death? I was so upset when I watched the cutscene. D:

Thanks. Based on your advice I'll probably get it soon.

Forty bucks down the crapper. I had high hopes of this game after watching the opening cutscene. Only afterwards did I realize that the 'calligraphy' facet of the gameplay was obviously designed by a Nazi war criminal on crack. The controls are frickin' IMPOSSIBLE. Part of this is my fault for having no bodily coordination whatsoever, but the original for the PS2 was much, much easier. This game could have been awesome; instead, it's a pile of wasted potential. No offense to those of you who can actually play this game without wanting to throw your Wiimote out the window.

Part of the reason is how they callibrate the wiimote. To see what I mean turn it upside down and then try to draw. You'll see that it actually goes in the opposite direction. It's never been an issue for me, but I've heard many complain about that. Well, that's not to say I have no troubles and I did have quite a few at the start, but I manage to get around it after playing a bit.

I'm a bit disappointed that I stopped playing the game D: I had gotten to the second arc, and decided it would be best to stop there than continue on. Mario Kart and GTA 4 had just come out then :[ I should definitely go back and finish it before I forget about the game's existence.

That's such a shame. I was going to get this in a few months after the price came down, since I loved it so much on the PS2. But there were a couple of moments in the PS2 version when I screamed out loud because I couldn't get the controls.

Am I the only one who finds the calligraphy easy?
And I have unnaturally unsteady hands. :(

I was going to play it today too, but then, I just couldn't (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasad.gif) I feel like I've missed something in the game.

I played for an hour today. The wiimote kind of annoys me but I'll get used to it =\ I think it's because the tv is now higher up.
