I was playing harvest moon DS and just my luck that I spilt soda all over it. But it still was fine, and I soaked it pretty bad. Well have you dropped or done something to your DS that seemed weird when it survied?

This is typical of all Nintendo systems. I don't know why, but Sony and Microsoft's systems tend to die on their own, let alone by result of accidents.

My Aunt spilled beer all over it and blamed it on me! It was all sticky and it smelled bad... Still works though!

O_O

And one time, I accidentally left my DS in the fridge overnight... I bet many of you are wondering how you forget a DS in a fridge. Honestly, I don't know.

I put mine in the refridgerator once too, but that's because I was saving it for a later meal.

^ That's crazy!

I've personally never done anything to mine, but my little cousin threw his DS at the wall and it worked just fine still. No scratches, well just a small chip...

I think I've managed to avoid dropping my DS so far. I tossed it on the bed a couple of times, but very lightly and onto a blanket.

But Nintendo is really good about the stuff they make. One of my old issues of Nintendo Power was full stories of abused consoles and handhelds that still worked fine. They'd been dropped off balconies onto concrete, had entire containers of bubble-blowing liquid spilled on them, and even been backed over with cars! But they still worked.

Go, Nintendo!

L button is horrible, horribly dead. It's actually enough to give me interest in a DSi, but not nearly enough.

Everything else is great though.

You just made my day with that mental picture. It reminds me of that insurance advert where some guy's intelligent enough to be leave his coffee cup on his laptop keyboard and then accidentally knocks it over and is all, "aw, nuts, I totally did not see that coming"

A lesson - don't try to vigorously pet your farm animals using the Touch Screen while holding a can of soda over your DS. You got off lucky this time.

My DS' back buttons L and R never work now thanks to console abuse from some kid who I had to babysit and who like, used it ALL THE TIME for three weeks playing Metroid Prime. He took out his rage and frustration by pressing the buttons as hard as he could, so now they don't work and I can't play such gems as Rune Factory which relies on the use of L and R. I hate people who use their handheld consoles as stress balls. Especially if they're MY consoles.

I'm very careful with my systems, so they suffer no abuse. However, my L trigger fritzes out on me from time to time. After a while, it'll decide to work... then stop again. Just when it feels like it, I guess. So I'm in your same boat, Darth. I agree, though. Nintendo knows how to make a durable product.

This is not the case for the Wiimotes. I went to wash my bedspreads, and I accidentally had a wiimote wrapped up in the blankets. Into the washer it went, and I only found it after the cycle was done. I pulled it out, and it was SUPER dead. A few days later, I regained all functionality, minus the motion sensor in it. That's impressive if you ask me. The motion sensor is new tech for Nintendo, so I'm not real surprised, but the rest of the wiimote held up just as a Nintendo product should.

But, on topic again, no, my DS hasn't fallen, gotten stuff spilled on it, etc. It looks like KFC though. I've had the blasted thing since the Lites first got introduced.
