Actually, I'm looking for opinions- which is better, Bleach, Higurashi (I know it's very violent, but I can take that) or Death Note? Or is there a 4th one I should check out?

I've never really gotten into any of those. Then again, I haven't really been much into anime/manga at all for a long time. You could try Detective Conan/Case Closed, as it was the last thing I was really into. Then Adult Swim took it off the air because of ratings being low at 1:30/4:00AM. Who would've guessed?
edit: I guess you could try older/classic ones if you haven't already too. Like Macross/Robotech, Lupin the Third, and, ofcourse, the granddaddy of them all, Astro Boy. My two favorite Anime shows are Cowboy bebop and Paranoia agent, they have finished now but they are still good. Not that this has helped you in anyway. I just thought I'd tell you.

If you haven't seen Elfen lied yet, you should be ashamed and then watch it first. After that, every other show won't be as good, because you've already seen the best. But the first part of death note is nice. (the second part isn't worth mentioning, or worth wiping your @$$ with).

yes I agree, it's really not one of my favorites. Elfen lied is real good though it is one of my favorites. Comedy wise I love Ouran High School Host Club. Theres another one that is short only 6 episodes it is called Hantsuki, very cute if you're into that cheesy stuff. : )
