Yeah, the main characters throughout the Mother series have had some pretty strong resemblances to each other. Lucas has quite a bit more character development though.

Hyper Sonic was Sonic when he got the 7 Chaos Emeralds and the Floating Island's 7 Super Emeralds. He was a bit faster, flashed multiple colors, and had a double jump to kill everything on the screen.

That'll be because Nintendo decided to delay it to February 10th in a press conference. Supposedly the same one that unveiled Sonic. Guess he was only there to soften the blow, huh? Gives some of you more time to get a Wii I guess.

Aww. So no Brawl for Christmas. :C
I'm really happy about Sonic. He looks a bit funny in Brawl (maybe it's his eyes?), but he seems like fun. And plus, this opens up an opportunity for TAIILLLSS to appear~~! Which isn't likely, since only the Mario and Zelda series seem to have more than one character from their games in Brawl so far. But if Tails doesn't come up in this one, he could come up in the next one, and... Tails would be lots of fun. And I'm not sure what his final smash would be... He's only gone Super like, once in the whole Sonic history, maybe? And probably not even Super. But maybe the Tornado could make an appearance... Oh the possibilities. Even though it's asking for a bit much, especially since they just released Sonic, please let there be a chance for Tails TTATT |

He'd be lots of fun. Though they might consider Tails a "double" character, since he usually uses spin dash and stuff like Sonic. But if they did add him, they could add variations on his attacks. Like, one of the more obvious ones is him using his tails to fly. Or the usual tail swipe he uses.
