No. He couldn't. It was stated a long time ago that even be eligible for being one of the very few third party characters (2-3), the character would have had to appear on a Nintendo console before. I don't ever remember Dante doing that.
If anyone is to get in from Capcom, it's probably Mega Man. He debuted on Nintendo consoles and has two exclusive series to Nintendo consoles (Megaman Zero and .EXE) to pick and choose from, on top of the X and original series. |

NEW UPDATE:
Smoke Ball! The Smoke Ball does exactly what it sounds like. It emits smoke when you throw it. It doesn't hurt anyone in anyway, its just a smoke screen. Plus, after you throw it, you can pick it up and make trails of smoke wherever you want :D

Yeah, it was nice to see Peach again. The only thing I'm worried about now is if they'll replace her moveset with one from Super Princess Peach... If they do, I hope they just grab Daisy to pick up the old moveset.

I bet one of the next five characters they reveal will be Sonic, I just have that feeling in my bones that he will be in this one.
They need to reveal more Pokemon in this game, all they have released is a little bit on Pikachu... I want Lucario in this game! |

NEW UPDATE:
Ike's Special Moves have been released! The first is called Aether. In this move, Ike throws his sword into the air, hitting the opponent, then flies up and catches the sword. He proceeds to slam down on the opponent after reclaiming his sword. But here's the kicker: after this move, he doesn't flinch for a short while! The next move is his Standard Special called Eruption. I'm not sure exactly what this does but you can find out:
