Most likely it'll be Cloud, Sephiroths sword has too much reach to it.

I don't remember Sephy ever appearing in CoM. Either way, I still think it'd be more likely for a more "Nintendo" Square-Enix character to appear. Cloud and Sephy are a pure Sony feeling all the way when you look at them.

Then who would be a Nintendo Square character?

BTW, why are you signed on as an anonymous user?

I find it more Mod-ly to be stalking the boards for evil to vanquish in shadow.

Also, a more "Nintendo" Square character would be anyone who's made major first appearances on Nintendo systems. For example, Final Fantasy 1-6, Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, and Super Mario RPG is a definite stand out. Super Mario RPG is another one of those games where we're not sure who exactly owns those extra characters like Geno, Mallow, and such. It's either Square or Nintendo though, so that eliminates the problems with the legal battles with a major corporation. (See: Kingdom Hearts and Disney)

So all we would need is for one more FF to make it on to a Nintendo platform for Cloud or Sephiroth to get in on Brawl?

Pretty much. Since Final Fantasy 7 never made an appearance on a Nintendo console, it's sorta not very likely. The only way I can think of is if Square themselves wants Cloud in and really pushes Sakurai to include him over his cameo in CoM.

Ofcourse, all I want to hear from Sakurai at this point is some freakin' MOTHER information. I wanna see Ness! or Lucas! or Loid! C'mon already!

You don't care too much for one of your favorites? What?

Lucas is the main character of MOTHER3, Loid is one of the characters who joins you in the original MOTHER. Hes got flame throwers and stuff! Crazy geek kids.

Know what I feel it's time for? More of Darth-Paper-Boy's third party character analysis!

QUOTE(Darth-Paper-Boy @ Jul 24 2007, 10:04 PM)

Cless is the main character of Tales of Phantasia, the first game in Namco's RPG series "Tales of..."

(IMG:http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/worthlessnewbie/cless.gif)

He's a warrior who uses swords, axes, spears, and a number of special moves to take out his opponents fast and efficient like. He's appeared in a number of games since then, as a hard boss fight, quiz master, doll, costume, and so on. Can't give out too much information on him as a character though, as I never even finished the darn game because, for one reason or another, my data has always managed to get lost somehow. Similar to the reason I've never finished FFVI.

(IMG:http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/worthlessnewbie/20050901_amnamco_05.jpg)

Gilgamesh is the main hero of the Druaga series. In the game, he is the son of King Marduk [whom in real life history is the god of ancient Babylon]. Sadly, King Marduk was defeated in the invasion of the Sumerian Empire. Gilgamesh is the Prince of Babilym, who would eventually become King upon his wedding to his childhood friend and lover, Ki, the Shrine Maiden of the Goddess Ishtar. Gil is brave and noble in his duties--always striving to see them through to the very end. Which is greatly in contrast to the actual figure he was based off of. The game itself was released in 1984 in arcades and set the groundwork to future games in the genre and even precedes the Legend of Zelda.

In the sequel, Return of Ishtar, he also teamed up with Ki, a magic user, making a possibility for a sorta Ice-Climber like duo character.

I'm gonna finish up the Namco theme for today. I think later I'll do Capcom.

VALKYRIE

(IMG:http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/worthlessnewbie/Valkyrie/wal_yukuzo_musume.gif)

This is Valkyrie. She's awesome. She's wielded swords, axes, maces, and fierce magic, appeared in numerous amounts of Namco titles, and is well loved in Japan. Not to discredit her completely to America, her cameo appearances still made it here, and her main claim to fame, The Legend of Valkyrie appeared on Namco Museum 5 for the PSX. However, that's not where it began, as her original outing was much longer before back in the days of the Famicom. Starting with Adventure of Valkyrie. A sort of Zelda-clone with alot less direction that encouraged players to combine efforts with their friends to make the eventual win. You'd level up, learn new magic, and fight through dungeons. Later, the much easier to get into Arcade game the Legend of Valkyrie debuted in Arcades in 1989. A sort of overhead shooter type game with RPG and exploration elements mixed in made it an amazingly great game. She also appeared at the end of the prequal "Whirlo", or in Japan, "A Xandra's Big Adventure: Meeting with Valkyrie" that tells the lovely backstory of Player 2. She later appeared in a "Digital Comic", The Glory of Valkyrie (I think it's a cellphone game...), her own short Manga series in 2006 (The Birth of Valkyrie), an orchestrated CD performed by the Slovak Orchestra, two remakes of the original game, one with new graphics for the cellphone, and another with Legend-style gameplay and more fleshed out story, and later on as a playable character in Druaga Online: Story of Aon.

She's made cameos in: Numerous Tales games, Marvel Land, Soul Calibur II and III as a costume, Mach Breakers, Super World Stadium '99, and as a playable unit in the game based entirely on cameos, Namco x Capcom.

Ki

(IMG:http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/worthlessnewbie/chara_kai.jpg)

If she's to appear, it's as a Ice-Climber team up with Gilgamesh. No ifs ands or buts about it. Here's her story: She's Gilgamesh's life-long friend and fianc?e and shrine maiden to the Goddess Ishtar. In the game, Gil gets critically injured, and she's commanded to venture off into the Tower of Druaga by herself by Ishtar to steal back the Blue Crystal Rod to shift the outcome of the Druaga War. She fails and gets turned into a rock. Sad, I know. After Gilgamesh saves her, they both venture out of the Tower together wielding the Blue Crystal Rod to blow the crap out of stuff. She makes many cameo appearances alongside Gilgamesh and Valkyrie, so I won't bother to list them now, but I will say this: In NG Gaming Community Magazine, NAMCO of Japan's discontinued Arcade newsletter, Ki has made the most appearances on the cover artwork of any female character, and probably any NAMCO character at that time, period.

No particular reason other than I was bored, wanted to type something up, and personally feel that the remaining two third party characters slots are most likely going to Capcom, Sega, Namco, or Square-Enix. Maybe Hudson. Maybe.

I'm gonna do SEGA now. Sure, it might seem unlikely for anyone other than Sonic, buuuut... Well, I'm bored as heck, so let's learn you kids some Service Games!

Sonic the Hedgehog

(IMG:http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/worthlessnewbie/144857432_9ed88cc360.jpg)

He can really move, he's got an attitude, and he's the fastest thing alive! He'll put any other speedy character to shame, and be impossible to catch with a bunny hood. He's been with us since 1991 and since day one has struck a rivalry with Nintendo's multi-talented plumber. School days could be spent discussing their strengths and weaknesses and finally the ultimate gaming battle that defined what some see as the Gaming Golden Age can be here. I don't really feel I need to say more about him aside from that he might be teamed with Tails. Maybe. Although I don't really see it happening personally.

Alisa Landale

(IMG:http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/worthlessnewbie/alis-myau.jpg)

The girl. Not the cat. The cat's name is Myau and he can fly. She's the original hero of the 1987 RPG classic, Phantasy Star. She took on King Lassic and Dark Falz with their legendary weapons. It's not too much of a backstory I'm giving, I know, but it's been ages since I've played and it's the start of SEGA's great series. Another candidate is Rolf Landale, her descendant. He's got a bit of a bigger backstory as Phantasy Star II had a stronger story. It also was alot more well known and loved. He also participated in the slaughter of the last survivors of Earth. Hooraaaay!

Alex Kidd

(IMG:http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/worthlessnewbie/20010328_01_05.jpg)

That's right. Alex Kidd. The mascot before Sonic ever entered the scene with Opa Opa preceding him. Sadly, he hasn't made any appearances since then, aside from his sad new life as a retail clerk, but isn't it about time he returned? ... Maybe not exactly. He's still a worth while candidate, with history, although still unlikely due to the fact most of today's gamers don't know who the heck he is. I bet you don't.

Vyse of the Blue Rogues

(IMG:http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/worthlessnewbie/vyse.jpg)

Another one of Sega's RPG heros, this time alot more well known to today's gaming world. However, I'm getting tired of writing these and wanna move onto the big "What the waffles?" at the end. Let's do some copy and paste work.

Vyse is extremely driven to do well and be a role model to those around him. His strong compassion and empathy are known to inspire others to great feats that they did not realize they were capable of. With nothing more than his goodwill and personality, Vyse unites a disparate crew from all over the world into a single fighting force to do battle with the Valuan Armada, and he can call on his crew members when the need is great to fight the enemy by shouting, "Blue Rogues, attack!" Vyse is a notable character in modern RPGs because his personality and character design visibly eschew the brooding, monochromatic and depressive characterization embraced by Squaresoft (now Square Enix) in the PlayStation iterations of the Final Fantasy series. Also in a departure from many role-playing game heroes, Vyse is not a silent protagonist, and the player is often given a choice of what Vyse is to say at key moments in the game.

Hmm... There's more stuff... good stuff... but I think more than a paragraph is pushing it. Don't wanna do what I did with Valkyrie before.

Taro Sega

(IMG:http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/worthlessnewbie/20010328_01_02.jpg)

Who? The main character of Segagaga, that's who! In the world's first, last, and only Sega Simulation, he helps Sega return from their slump in the industry, taking on the evil DOGMA corporation (Sony) by assisting in the development of new games to help win over the hearts of all the boys and girls who play video games while meeting such characters like Alisa, Nei, Alex Kidd and more, while parodying both Sega and the general industry's practices. "Those are gigantic doors. Are they for keeping intruders out?" "Nope." replies Alisa. "They're for keeping our staff members in." He found, insult-battled, and put to work programmers, graphic artists, and designers to make new products to win over the industry and eventually faced off in the final epic space-battle with the evil DOGMA. Awesome. If you're not sure you're gonna wait out for the fan-translation of the game, stop by Youtube and see the ending segments of the game. Especially if you're a Sega fan.

That was fun!
