Okay, I finally got around to looking at the new side characters and I wish Saffron was marriageable for their design alone. Friggin' pirate chef.

Wantatan (the one who dresses in a dog suit) looks quite interesting too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaeyes.gif) Apparently no one's ever seen him wear anything else. No one is even certain as to whether he's human. How...weird.

Edit: Oh, forgot to mention: Saffron is apparently already married.

I don't know much about it since I haven't seen many scans, but apparently Cam and Reina, from Tale of Two Towns, will both be in this game. And they are both marriageable.

There's also a goddess and a witch...but they're both children.

......Licorice is not only in this game, but marriageable besides? Well, then. Screw all of new candidates, I know exactly who I'm going after. Licorice is kinda sorta totally one of my favorite HM characters.

I find it amusing but also rather confusing that she has an English name (or word used as a name, rather) in Japanese and a Japanese name in English.

Never got to meet Reina since I skipped Two Towns, but she seemed interesting. At least moreso than what I know about the new ones.

Agh. She is utterly adorable, Darth. She's a botanist (with an actual degree) who researches plants and shit. If you play as a girl and befriend her, she eventually tells you that you're her only friend, so she wants to you stick around.

And yeah. I found that strange too. Her uncle's name was pretty strange too - Zauri. I think they wanted the two of them to be Chinese/Non-Japanese Asian and the localization crew either didn't catch it or didn't care.

Meet The Witch, The Doctor And The Goddess In Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land

We previously got a look at Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land’s tiny magical elf-like creatures, known as “Harvest Sprites”. The latest update on the game introduces us to a cute mini-Harvest Goddess, a small witch, and a charming flamboyant doctor.

Little Harvest Goddess:

The Little Harvest Goddess was a recently born goddess, who is new to the game. While she has the spirit of a proper goddess, she’s a bit lacking on the magical side, and fails every now and then, so she still has ways to go in becoming a goddess.

She can be a little sensitive at times and cries if she fails continually, showing a little bit of a childish side to her.

The Little Witch was wandering around and just so happened to come across the town in Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land. She took a liking to the town, and has decided to live there since.

Unlike the Little Harvest Goddess, she possesses extremely powerful magic; however, she can be a little childish at times. She might have a short temper, but deep down, she’s honest and kind.

I like that Marian's earrings are syringes. That's a cute touch. His profile on the site says he's a good doctor, and apparently thinks of himself as being an expert in both female and male matters and loves to give advice about relationships, fashion, etc. That suggests to me that he may think of himself as not being confined to a certain gender role. He's also apparently friends with George, and they manage a union or alliance (like a club) dedicated to beautifying the heart and mind.

...I'll bet he's a relative of Julius, haha.

So, the game is officially out in Japan now (it's the 27th there), and my guidebook is about to ship from Amazon Japan. However, Play-Asia doesn't yet have the game in stock. I might actually get the guidebook before the game at this rate.
