I'm uploading this trailer to the RS youtube channel. If Sessy or Marie can go in there and edit the details, that'd be amazing.

.........Huh. That peach/blonde with the purple coat and the flower looks uh... kinda like Juris. Only smarmier. Hm.

As for Kamil... unless he's suddenly gotten more interesting, I could really care less. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) BUT STILL YAY CAMEOS.

Yaaay!
I don't have time to go through and read it, but thank you Sessy. This is awesome. :)
I've added your page to the Harvest Moon template. People will be directed here for news, then once English information starts being released, pages on the wiki will begin to be added.

Finally got to watch the video. They sure are streamlining farming. Did you see that guy hauling trumpet as he tilled the land, threw seeds, watered crops and packed up for deliveries? Holy cow.

If those aren't Juris/Ivan and Cam, they certainly do look like them! Personally, I'd love to see Ivan in another game. He was my favourite bachelor from Grand Bazaar, and since Dirk was in another game, why not Ivan too?

Thanks so much for posting this, Sessy! I'm working on translating the website (starting with the prologue), and I'll post that here soon.

Oh thank you for the help, Marie! I know you speak/read Japanese at a way more fluent level than I do, so any help on that front is veyr much appreciated.

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I just had the dickens of a time translating the name of the town in this game! I'll chalk it up to my unfamiliarity with the Japanese names of plants...and the fact that the kanji character for 'oak' (樫) oddly doesn't appear in my kanji dictionary book. At all. Weird.

Finally got it, though: Our town this time around is Oak Tree Town:
樫の木タウン (kashi no ki taun), which literally means "Oak Tree Town."
I think "Oak Town" is also an acceptable English translation, since the "tree" part seems a bit redundant in English.

The backstory reminds me of the backstory of More Friends of Mineral Town, and I think there have been other games with this story, too, though I don't remember the bit about the "ranch exam" being used before.

Rough translation of Prologue:
(Source: http://bokumono.com/series/tsunagaru/prologue/)

QUOTE
One winter day...
The protagonist, whose life has been the same day after day,
finds an advertisement in the mailbox.

"We're currently recruiting a new ranch owner!
Wouldn't you like to work with us?"

One week later...
The message saying the protagonist passed the ranch exam arrived.

The protagonist quickly packed their things, and
headed off to “Oak Tree Town,” thrilled about the excitement-filled
ranch life!

Sessy: My Japanese is *quite* rusty right now, lol. But I'm hopeful that I'll quickly get back into the swing of it.

Next up: translation of the marriage candidate profiles.

I translated the info for the first two bachelorettes, and that's all I can do today. I'll save Iris's info for next time.

"When I come here, I can relax, especially after I’ve been to work in the city."

Full of life and with a love for children, she is the TV weather girl.
Outside of the weather forecast, she also works as a singer for
children’s programs and as an announcer, so she’s very busy.
On her days off, she looks after her younger sister,
chats with the elderly, and even in private works to help others,
so she’s popular in town.

(Her dialogue in the screenshot)
"This is a very wonderful town, so I’d love it if more people come to know
about this town’s merits."

"At first glance you seem to be fine, but... Since you came here,
does that mean something is wrong?"

She’s guild master Veronica’s daughter, and works as a nurse at the clinic.
She’s very quick to think, so everyone sees her as having a cool personality.
She does everything according to a plan, so she doesn’t fare well when unexpected things come up.
She seems mature beyond her years, and doesn’t often let her emotions show.

(Her dialogue in the screenshot)
"...Did you skin your elbows? They are bleeding. Please hold still."

Please, no. Harvest Moon 64 may be my favorite Harvest Moon game, but I've seen enough of those characters to last a lifetime. Seriously.

I wouldn't mind seeing cameos from multiple games. I always like to see how they re-draw characters for cameos.

I agree! I especially love Elli and Gray in Tree of Tranquility. Their presence warms my heart in that game. I wish I could've seen the other flowerbud characters redesigned for wii. However, I also agree it's time for some varied cameos... especially forget-me-not villagers. Actually I've really been hoping they'll do a complete revamp of AWL mixed with the idea of HM:DS for console (with some new stuff sprinkled in too, of course). I loved the idea of the slow growth over many years, and the really immersive family system. To see it upgraded and redone... that would be stellar.

Elli. :D

I'm glad they've made farming faster....
I more or less dropped ToT because I maxed my farm out with stuff, and then it took all day to attend my farm and there was no time to do anything else. I don't know how you were meant to be able to manage more than one farm. There's no time. I think that could have been fixed though with making time not move indoors like they normally do, then tending to my animals wouldn't have been so time exhausting.

Well, back when time stopped inside they hadn't switched to the 1 minute = 1 second conversion system yet, so you needed time to stop indoors to get anything done before the day was over. (I remember the greenhouse being one of the most important things to buy in 64, since watering more than a few patches of crops outside could take until noon or later if you weren't careful.) The first game I that I remember the new time system being in was AWL, and there was so little to do with your time in that game, that having a guaranteed 15-20 minutes before the day ended left you bored out of your mind.

That said, in recent games that has changed, since you've got more to do than you've got time for. A day in HM64 could easily go from being only 10 minutes long to 40 minutes long, depending on how much work you had to do before the day was over, but in the newer games you've still got that strict maximum of 23 minutes to do everything (6 am - 5 am), no matter how much you actually have to do. With the amount of stuff they expect you to do now, reintroducing time stopping indoors would probably be a good thing. They're already trying to drag out the plot of the games to miserable lengths, why not do the same thing for individual days?
