I just happened to see a big spread about the new game in December's edition of Dengeki Nintendo (I bought it for the X and Y coverage, and noticed it was there as an added bonus!).

I like the character designs, but I'm not so sure about the messing around with animals. I never liked having to deal with the wild animals much in past games, and if this one has an emphasis on it, I might have to pass. I get the whole "connect" thing where it's sort of hinting at the idea of social interaction through the 3DS (hey, all the cool kids are doing it, right?), but I'm not sure I like how it's sounding thus far. If it ends up the same kind of fakey interaction Animal Crossing promised but failed to actually do much with, that'll be a huge disappointment.

Seems like they're just releasing a mess of pretty drawings and not giving much in the way of details for the moment, though, so I'll be happy to wait it out and see what develops. :)

Harvest Moon 3DS, Animal Crossing the Nintendo amazing game.

QUOTE
The Harvest Moon series is mainly known for having you take care of crops, raising livestock and living your life, but it looks like Neverland are taking a page out of Animal Crossing’s book for their next game. Now, you can go swimming and will also have more interior decorating options in Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land.

Most of the item creating and crafting will be similar to past installments of the Harvest Moon series, where you’ll be gathering resources to create new objects.

(IMG:http://storage.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/l_527a0b9c64623.jpg)

However, while previously we’ve always been able to make adjustments to the interior decoration of your home, Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land will allow you to go further than just your wall paper and floors, as you’ll also get to create furniture like cabinets and more.

That’s good news for those of you who are keen on your color coordination skills, as the game will have plenty of different objects with various colors to make your perfect home.

Character creation will also be seeing more customization options, as it will have similar choices from Harvest Moon: A New Beginning, with the addition of optional accessories such as hats and glasses.

Looks like some additional characters have been added to the website. Can't really read anything about them though.

OHHH.

Nurse's name is Angela.
And, um, ah. There's like, way to much kanji. Seems like typical worried nurse who watches over you, wants to quickly attend to your needs. Nurse of Veronica.
The other guy's name is Klaus (However you wanna spell it). I think he's a dandy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) He's busy everyday ~ a proffesional in...something. Curing a sickness. People's interests.....

God, I don't know. I hate kanji I don't know. I'mma stop trying. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

Actually, it says that Angela is Veronica's daughter.

I'll have to look some of those kanji up later when I have time.

I'm glad to hear that customization will be making a return. The chances of me liking any of the male candidates enough to woo them is slim to none, and I like the female farmer's design more, so you can just bet your ass that I will be abusing that customization system again.

New character, help for friendship love heart marriage.

QUOTE
Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land has revealed two more characters for players to choose from to get hitched to. (As if you wouldn’t want to marry Raegar, that dashing young chef!)

http://www.siliconera.com/2013/11/13/harve...-sophisticated/

(IMG:http://storage.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/0016.jpg)

(IMG:http://storage.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/0037.jpg)

Angela is a nurse working at the local hospital, and the daughter of Guild Master Veronica. While she appears cool and collected on the outside, seldom showing off her emotions with her (understandably sometimes bloody) surroundings, she’s also got her weak side when exposed to sudden and unexpected events.

It’s probably because she appears older than she really is that she tries to keep her emotions in check. One wonders what happens if you marry her though with her mother around…

(IMG:http://storage.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/0047.jpg)

Klaus, on the other hand, is the town’s dapper and dandy perfumer. Able to craft any form of perfume to suit the right mood, he’s used to being calm and is exceptionally broad-minded in thinking. His high levels of tolerance and calm disposition should be able to weather any storm with players if they choose to marry him.

Oh sweet! I love how some of the characters appear a lot older now. Reminds me of Soseki's age from A new Beginning. :) Makes me feel a lot less creepy since I'm beyond high school age. X)

Well, most of the marriage candidates have been beyond high school age anyway, so it's more just the art style... And the girls are still short, cute, and ambiguously of age. I've never really felt creepy going after any of the HM characters, though. I dunno. The only character who's looked so young I just said no was Chihiro from Twin Villages. I thought he looked ten. (And yet I had no problems with Dirka in Welcome to the Wind Bazaar, and I married Anemone in that game, who also looked very young.)

-off of tumblr info- If your reblogging reblog from here
This is the translation for the japanese on the siblings images.

Iris

“The clear autumn sky is very beautiful, isn’t it. Consequently, I get very inspired and make good progress with my writing during this time."

Mistel’s big sister and an active/successful novelist. Very knowledgeable and experienced, she has a frank personality and doesn’t make fuss over small things. Big-sister like in nature, she is good at taking care of others and gentle to those she cherishes. She does things at her own pace; sometimes she may spend all day sitting at her desk working on her novel, sometimes she leisurely takes a stroll around the town.

Mistel (Mistle?)

"There are many valuable things placed here, so please don’t run around so much."

A young man who runs the antique shop. He may look very young, but he thinks maturely and always conducts himself like a gentleman. Just like his big sister, he has a frank and refined disposition. He likes old things and deals with various goods like furniture, accessories and paintings in his shop.

Also Mistel is such a shota. He looks so young. Oh gaaaaah. Look at the character size chart if you want to know what I mean. (IMG:http://25.media.tumblr.com/765da74f8fe904312a6b3b162aea90af/tumblr_mxo30uJyWS1rvsfpqo1_500.jpg)

Smaller than the male character! O_O

Hm. Elise looks nice... And yeeeah. Mistel/Mystel/whatever is definitely a shota. He actually makes Dirka and Chihiro look kind of old. But you know, I'm not surprised that they added a shota-esque character. They've actually been very popular amongst players, especially in Japan. He's cute, but I like his sister more.

As for the trailer... I'm liking that instant boxing method, whatever that is. Also, the town looks ridiculously cute.

I don't feel so neutral before and got a little excited from the trailer. :D
It would be nice to play one of the newer Harvest Moon's. It's been a while.

Also, eeeee.

But yeah, no moneys or time. Next year. :<

Harvest Moon 3DS, Mario's April joke off stop. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/monster.png)

As part of the game’s farming element, Mario’s plants are making their way into Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land in a collaboration. As part of the deal, players will be able to harvest the ubiquitous Red Mushroom, Fire Flowers as well as Stars from their fields, though how you’ll fulfill the “special conditions” to obtain them aren’t known yet. http://www.siliconera.com/2013/12/19/plant...w-harvest-moon/

Yeah, I saw that. I can't help but wonder if the gift-giving is like the absolute nightmare that trading in ANB was. On one hand, it was great since it allowed trading, and on another it was such a hassle that it almost wasn't worth it most of the time.

I also saw them mention a strap of the angora rabbit at the end, but I didn't catch the particulars. Is that a preorder bonus or what?

Thank you for sharing. I better hop to getting ANB and beating it before this comes out.

Anyone else here impressed by swimming? I'm just going to do that all day, every day.

Yeah, I saw on the website that little rabbit toy. I think it's a japanese only pre-order bonus.

Looks like they took a couple of pages out of ACNL's book with the swimming and stuff. I really just hope they find a way for the farming to feel less monotonous, especially late game. I remember toward the end of ANB I was just spending day after day tending to my farm and nothing else cause it had gotten so high-maintenance. They need to have a way to expand fully and still leave time for other things and keep the farming fresh.

Not sure what this new town square system thingie is, I can try and translate that later too... I didn't take too close a look at it.

Also I could write up short character bios too, if anyone wants.
