Pet preferences?, Theirs, not yours Options

So, I can't remember where I saw this, but is it true that marriage candidates (at least prior to marriage) have preferences for certain pets in the same manner they do for certain articles of clothing? I could've sworn it was something like the Witch favored the black cat, and so on.

(If nothing else, it'd be great info for the wiki if true. I can't really test it on Maya since I think I might HAVE her preferred pet already, but I'm already married.)

They supposedly do. Actually . . . wait. I'm pretty sure I got a special line out of Selena about a snake once. And there is a list of pet preferences floating around.

Thanks! It must be pre-marriage, since I just showed Maya our kid, the rabbit, AND the squirrel and just got the same line for all three ("Oooooh, CUTE" or something along those lines).

Now to snag the turtle for Gale.

And Selena is awesome for loving frogs (and snakes, I guess. I hate snakes, but... in this case, I can forgive).

I also find it hilarious that Julius loves the weasel, and the thing with Candace and silkworms confuses me. Is there an actual PET pet she prefers too? I can't imagine you can take a silkworm from the coop and show it to her, but I haven't owned one yet in this game either...

I'm pretty sure there's no way to show Candace a silkworm, or get any kind of line about it. However, I have asked around before (it confused me, too) and can't find anything else she likes. The Witch and Wizard confuse me as well, since there's no way to get the animal into their houses to show them. I know somebody somewhere did have a line from Gale about the turtle though, so . . . yeah.

Also, I am reasonably certain the lines are only available before marriage for two reasons.
1. Regular villagers don't have favorites.
2. Bachelor/ettes stop commenting on their favorite accessory after marriage.


As a side note, I love that Luna loves cats. =3

I think I know what it is for the Wizard. I seem to recall hearing that he can be found outside his house very, very late at night. Most likely, that's how they know he prefers the turtle.

I'm wondering if they used any kind of cheat devices for Candace or the Witch, or if they just took a stab in the dark (since we all know Candace adores silkworms, and logically, a witch probably WOULD prefer a black cat).

I think it might have been listed in a guide or Marvelous' website. I seem to recall the list coming out before the game did.
