If they made a show just about the sport, I'd watch it.

I would love to see college pro-bending teams, just like there are quidditch teams. I would join such a team. Heck, I'd start it at high school.

Great spin-off series! Love it. I like the fact that it feels new and different, yet keeping original fans satisfied with the bridge between both series. Korra's personality is completely opposite to that of Aang's since she just does whatever she wants, even if it's violent.

I like Korra I would be upset if she didn't have her own personality.

Me too, Noviwan. I'm very interested in the main antagonist's powers and how he has gotten them....

I must be the only one that feels this way, but Korra is proving to be very lackluster. D:

There's still the issue of terrible voice acting that remains... Korra's voice actress IS getting a little better as we go, so we'll see, but yeah. The halfhearted acting gets to me sometimes. I find that Korra's VA does especially bad in scenes that are really tense and serious-- she kind of makes the scenarios seem less significant than they are, due to her lack of expression. Arg. Really disappointing performances from her.

As for the episodes, themselves... I feel like they could have been pieced together better. I find that this season, the scenes kind of jump around. It really does feel like a collage of different pieces of a single script that is just put together in random order. The placement of certain segments of episodes seem very strange where they are and they just kind of... suddenly come and suddenly go? I find it a little off-putting that I can't enjoy any one part of the episode that they're trying to flesh out because before they do, another is introduced without rhyme or reason. In this way, season one was much better. It was your classic "Hey, we're going to start a scene, people are going to walk from here to there, they're going to say this and that, and THEN we'll change the scene when they're done." Where as Korra's just... "This guy will come in, say something, then before he's even done we'll put in some random scene just to get the audience confused! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/emot-iia.png) "

Also, unlike probably everyone, I'm a little confused about Korra and Mako, and I'm not sure I like them. Korra isn't as strong of a protagonist as Aang was, and she's much less relatable, in my opinion. I appreciate that they made her stubborn and headstrong and rash, but aside from that, it's hard to pick anything out that I like, as she has no other traits. She isn't multi-faceted like Aang was.
Mako too... just... I feel like the creators almost don't know how they want his personality to be like. He appears to be the kind of... brooding character, in the first episode. But then this latest episode, he's so cheery and awkward and weird. And he has that touch of emo, too. I don't know. I just don't relate much to him, either. I'm sure my opinions on them will probably change, as they grow and develop, but just so far, I'm very unimpressed.

Hahahah. I don't know. Probably The Last Airbender's just had such an impact on me that I'm comparing too much. And maybe the differences are too vast for me to like LoK. :9

It isn't without its perks, I guess. I'm finding that certain characters are extremely likeable. Tenzin's my favourite. I don't even know. He's just so great (?). Others are really pleasant too. Like... Meelo (obviously), Bolin, and Ikki.

THE ANIMATION IS JUST AMAZING TOO. Bending just looks so fantastic. <3

Okay I wrote an essay of complaint and endless whining. I should just stop. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalacry.gif)

I'm afraid I cannot locate the nature of everyone's "bovine meat", or issue, with her vocal emissions! In all seriousness (and please allow me to make my case in capital letters to show the urgency and fury of my passion for this issue), I HAVE HEARD WORSE!

IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU PLAY THIS GAME TO ILLUSTRATE MY POINT: (IMG:http://spawnkill.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/arc_rise_fantasia_boxart.png)

Everyone seems gripped by the cold fist of death and displays a complete and utter lack of caring - and when they do demonstrate some true, vigorous effort, it is wrong, entirely out of place or exaggerated with the fiery passion of the bowels of Hades!

My "beef" with her voice is that it sucks and she can't use expression to save her life. For such a popular series, it would have been better for the production team to just get someone more experienced with voice acting. There's so many people that pay attention to Korra because of its popularity, and so there's bound to be an abundance people who have a problem with the main character's voice as well.

I think I actually understood what you meant by her terrible voice acting with this most recent episode. When she started crying, the animation told me she was deeply, emotionally hurt, but her voice said "I'm not taking this too seriously. I'm just pretending to sob between lines, rather than with them like a real person would do."

It feels like everybody else is at least TRYING to put emotion and likeability into their characters, but perhaps this girl is just new to voice acting. If that's the case, I'd give it time, because she's getting better by small degrees.

As for Amon, I have an absolutely insane theory that I doubt is true. I believe that he is, or has some connection to, former Firelord Ozai.

Though, I am having trouble predicting canon ships. Is it going to be Korra x Mako, or Korra x Bolin and Asami x Mako? (also I believe that Asami, as a nonbender, is secretly and Equalist, and much higher up and closer to Amon)

I am absolutely in love with Mako, or they just intentionally make all firebending main characters attractive....

Hahahah! I know what you mean. Unfortunately, she's just been terrible at expressing sadness so far. It's hard to sympathize with someone when you can tell they don't really know what they're doing. The only point in which Korra could have redeemed herself in my eyes was kind of ruined by her. At the end of episode 4 when she's sobbing in Tenzin's arms showed a little of her development-- she learned about her folly and became wizer and yadda yadda. But like, her voice actress was just... FAKE SOBBING all over the place, and it made me feel awkward rather than sympathetic. :<

Amon, huh. I don't know.
I like your theory. It's definitely possible. :B
Argh I should spoiler this before Hassy rages at me like he did before with Tiger and Bunny lul... >_____>
Spoiler:
I mean, it makes sense, because at the end of Last Airbender, it was a point that Ozai's bending was taken away by Aang. This fact that bending can be taken away is highlighted again this season by Amon, so there could definitely be a connection between the two. I can't come up with any suggestions as to why, though. :9

Arg and as for the ships, I know right! ;_______;
Asami really pains me, and I don't like her much. Something about those insanely beautiful female characters who just appear and sweep the male leads off their feet... irks me. But on the other hand, I don't really like Mako either, so I don't mind him being swept off his feet as much... this is weird. X'D
All in all, I would be okay with Asami and Mako as the canon, but I feel like they're probably going to put Mako with Korra in the end. ;___________________;
I'd prefer the canon to be Korra and Bolin, myself, but... bleh. Don't see that happening, as he's just the kind of... "Sokka" character, if you know what I mean. They're probably going to get some random girl in the series to just come along and get with him. Imo, Bolin and Korra would make a heck of a good ship though. They could show Bolin's struggle in getting his older brother to stop overshadowing him, his development from a silly boy into a MANLY MAN, and they could get him to cast aside all the girls that fangirl over him and choose Korra instead (WOULDN'T THAT BE CUTE HE COULD CHOOSE ANYONE BUT HE CHOOSES HER??? IDK I'M LOSING IT). :D
And as for Korra, she could like have her little crush on Mako be unrequited and then have Bolin be her shoulder to cry on and then they'd fall in love and asg;lag;dadlgm-

GOD SOMEONE STOP ME

I get the irking feeling that they're going to put Mako and Korra together to make the Zutara fans happy that water and fire finally mix. If it's not that then it'd have to be Korra x Bolin. I mean, in the previous series, only one character actually married someone that wasn't in the Gaang (as far as we know) and had a daughter to prove it.
Spoiler:
It was Toph

Despite Korra not being voiced very well, I think everything else, and the reputation of the last series will keep the fanbase fairly strong and loyal.

Spoiler:
also according to the official Nickelodeon page and Republic City game, Zuko's still alive (and is like, 87) and has retired from being firelord and has a daughter (name unknown) who he gave the position to. He currently travels the world.

Also, the whole fact that Amon was supposedly attacked by a firebending gang member when he was younger, and that
Spoiler:
THE BURNS SCARRED HIS FACE SO BAD THAT HE HAS TO WEAR A MASK!!!!!!!!??????????
sound familiar at all?

I unfortunately missed today's episode, and according to the guide it won't be on tomorrow.... I had an SAT to take.... and Nickelodeon still hasn't put it on their website yet... They were so speedy about it last week. I guess I'll just have to wait. Is the episode worth it?
