New to Harvest Moon Options

I know this game has been around awhile... but I just started playing TOT for the first time. HIGHLY ADDICTING I must admit. I just completed my first year. My first concern was building up stamina so I went for the power berry in the mines right away. I then started to upgrade my tools. I'm not sure if this is good for year one but so far....

House upgraded to level 3
Completed 2 Rainbows
All but 2 tools are upgraded to Silver
Have a Coop (no barn yet)

As far as love interest... I'm torn between 3 ... Chase, Calvin & Luke. Pro's & Con's with them all. I'm worried about the Calvin glitch. I purchased a used copy from GameStop and have no idea if my copy has the glitch or not. Luke has no rivals and I kind of want to see the offspring of all the other couples. Though Chase is adorable too. Hmmmm what to do.... what to do.

It should have an indication of what version you have on the packaging and game.

What does the letter-number code say on your game disk? (The underside that you have to tilt in the light to read.)

If your game was made in 2009 it should be the fixed version, if before, you might have a glitched version. The date will be on the disk. I don't know the different codes though, sorry. Mine says RVL-R84P-EUR-B0. Might be different since I have a European one.

I hope you continue having fun with your game and continue on with the Harvest Moon series (Even though Natsume can make such horrible glitches). ^-^

My first print copy says "RVL-R84E-0A-0" from the looks of it. So I imagine yours would be the next print after that.

Oh, good, good, it's different than mine. I preordered and never bothered sending it in to get fixed, but my friends got the fixed version. That's like her's.

My favourite is Chihaya/Chase, and I also quite liked Luke when I started playing the game. I've never cared too much for Calvin, though. D8 Also, I stopped playing before I got married, sooo, I don't know what that's like. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

Just of note: Don't fill up your barn and coop with as many animals as you can. It takes up about half of your day to tend to them all.

Am I the only one who likes Calvin? Maybe it has to do with being an older gamer so his more manly looks compared to the other bachelors appeals to me. I'm also a sucker for the whole Australian rancher look. I also think his heart lines are very sweet. But I like Chase's pink hair and he is a year round sandal wearer like me. Benefits of look are those eyes and I would get to see all the children of the other couples come into the game. I did read if you have a child with Calvin or Chase, you can end up with a whiny child. o_O

Right now I have all three up to 3 hearts. I'm sure I'll make up my mind at some point.

There's been a fair share of Calvin fans. I remember a small uproar floating around some other HM communities at the time the glitch was first discovered. I think there were a few here too, but we're kinda small.

By courting all the characters and seeing all of their scenes should help you decide one.

I like Calvin (pacifically, in Animal Parade). At least as a character. Not so much as a marriage candidate for me, but still cool and such to have around.

I go into a game not knowing and raise all of them, then decide, all the time. So keep at it and you'll figure it out eventually. I'd raise even the ones you might not've considered, too.

I'll try that. I currently have my house at level 5. w00t w00t I purchased the town plot. Hope to build a house there but not till after all my tools are upgraded to gold. I have the gold watering can and the rest are silver. Little at a time.

I went with Chase. He was too adorable. So now I'm married to Chase.... House to final level on the hilltop. I have all the golden tools. One more rainbow to complete. I purchased the town plot... have a level 3 house on it and turned the land into an apple orchard. I married off Jin & Anissa. She was such a beautiful bride. Jin is already complaining about her. In one exchange he said she was a bit of a nag but he didn't mind. o_O lol
