Yeah. Actually, even at the point I'm at, around 85% of my income comes from foraging and fishing because there's just so much to grab on that mountain.
I should probably write up some stuff on this game or something, but I don't really feel like going back to it right now... |

Aw, the only way you can save is by going to bed? Well, that's a load of BS. I've just started the game yesterday and it's pretty cool. I probably won't have much time to play it because of school and whatever, but still. :3 Btw, does anyone know how we can get to the mountain where Micheal is?

Michael doesn't show up until later on in the game, much like Sage. I can't remember what the exact conditions are for unlocking him, but I doubt you'll have to worry about it for a while anyway.

Hmm I might pick up the 3DS version... Thoughts on the game? Good? Bad? I wasn't exactly caught into the last HM game I got, which was GB so I want some opinions on this one.

So far so good I like the fact that there are other things like bug catching to do now I have not gotten to the point where I can mine yet though I want a new horse my pony is looooooow
anyway honestly hmr I don't see what would make this game good in 3d unless they added stuff you could just get the ds version and save ten bucks I do like the game though like HM + a bit of animal crossings mixed in with bug catching |

I think it's a good game, personally. If you're the type who needs some kind of plot or goal to keep you going, then this game delivers - though the plot is silly as ######. The game has a nice, large map and plenty of things to do to keep you busy until sunset. I rather like the cast, though that's just a personal opinion, and I like a lot of the interesting little additions/changes to the gameplay.
Just expect to get good at cooking and make sure you're always prepared to cook something from each category of dish. Otherwise, you'll find yourself rather like me and completely fucked during one of the cooking contests that raises your friendship with the other village. |

Novi: My control pad on my DSi is a tad sketchy and sucks when moving in a 360 sort of way, and the way the DS games fill in the 3DS screen (which has a nice control pad that I love) hurts my eyes. My main reasoning anyways.
Mizuki: Good to hear about the space. GB felt so crowded and small, and without too much to do which killed my interest fast. Didn't even make it to year 2. Think I'll pick this up sometime soon then. |

Does anyone know how to make the same item separate in an inventory?
Like, how to split two Moondrop flowers that are clumped together or something? I don't want to give my five Moondrop Flowers to the same person. D: |

You can't give them all five. You can't separate items that are stacked; however, since you can only give one gift per day, it will automatically only give them one. The principle is also the same for items that you throw. You'll only throw one and will still be holding what remains of the stacked item.

I was pretty confused there for a sec, haha. Btw, another question. I'm try to make connected rows (I think they're called irrigation trenches?) on my field to grow crops. It worked for me the first two times, but no matter what I do I can't make anymore. I didn't know what I did to connect them either. Help? I really would appreciate it! I'm confused, and looked it up but no tips were really working for me. |

Can anyone help please with the irrigation system? I'm running out of stamina just by attempting to make connected rows, lol.

Yeah, trenches are a pain in the trumpet to make.
Did you notice that if you till a patch of soil and then press the d-pad in the direction you want to go that you'll automatically move one space in that direction without turning? Do that and then till the next area of soil while you're still under the gridlock imposed by that movement and you should get trenches to form. |

D: can you still do it, because that doesn't seem to work for me. :( EDIT: Actually, tried that on newly tilled soil, and it worked, but it won't connect my existing squares of tilled land that I was attempting to connect. How do you get the tilled land to disappear? A hammer? D: (And how do you get a hammer if that was the case) |

Yeah. You have to hit it with a hammer in order to get it to flatten out. You get the hammer after completing a request from Shen Lo (I have no idea what his English name is). It appears during spring some time on the bulletin board and he'll ask you to bring him a couple of stones from the mountain and some money.
EDIT: No. You can't connect newly tilled soil to soil that's already been tilled. I tried that too and it didn't work very well. |

I'll ask my girlfriend (who recently got the game and also has the fishing rod) about how to get the rod for you tomorrow and report back.
