Okay I have looked through many guides for help on the records and have done what they said a bunch of times (like befriend Mukumuku and talk to him or befriend Chris and talk to her either at her house or on her way home or befriend Carter and talk to him when he's at the beach (3rd and 8th day of each season) or befriend Griffin and talk to him when he's alone in his room) and nothing has happened. Are the records a year 2 thing or am I just not able to get them for some reason?

Don't you collect your records from your toolshed or something? Wait a moment. I'll have a quick search in a second.
EDIT: Well, you definitely find your first in the shelf of your shed. I can't quite remember how I got records when I played. D: So, whats happening exactly? Your doing all these things and just nothing happens afterward? And don't worry, I'm still searching~ Just curious. EDIT2: Wheee. Multiple edits. Anyway, I read somewhere on the forums that its apparently easier to get records in Special Edition. I don't know how..... But, anyhoo. X__X; It looks like some other people have had troubles getting records, so you may just have to keep on trying and see what happens. EDIT3: Didn't even post my last edit. .__. You may have to set a Game Boy advance link with Friends of Mineral Town or something to get records if you're playing the Gamecube version. I don't know, sooo..... I'm leaving it as this for now. >__> |

Alright, in AWLSE, it's a little bit different. No one even mentions anything about this in any guides.
Befriending people in AWLSE is ALOT HARDER. You must keep giving them things everyday even after they start to look at you, because even though they look at you, in AWLSE, they are still not your friend! You have to keep giving them things until they start asking you questions (which will be in their rooms/houses, not when they are walking around), I've found the exceptions to the rule are Gustafa and Vesta, they won't ask you anything. You'll just have to play them by whether or not you think you have given them enough stuff. But keep in mind, that them asking you questions doesn't mean that they are your friends yet. You have to keep giving them stuff, and answering their questions positively. And then about a season later, they will finally give you the record. Carter still hasn't given me his record yet, and he's been asking me questions for almost half a chapter now, if not longer. |

Yeah but I got the seed maker from Daryl and all the guides say he must be your friend to get the cut scene for that and I tried that cut scene the day after he started moving his head towards me and also Galen gave me the fishing pole and you also had to be friends with him before chapter 2 to get that and I stopped giving him gifts after he turned his head towards me (which was like early spring) so he must be my friend. I also got the clippers from Wally the day after his head turned to me. Maybe you have to be better friends with the villagers? |

It seems to be different for every game. Daryll has been my friend for two chapters, yet he still won't give me the Seed Maker. I had barely spoken to Wally before he gave me the clippers. And I had never spoken to Grant before he gave me the Alarm Clock.

You just have to go to his house when he is there. I also started getting asked question by the villagers and still haven't gotten the records. I'm actually starting not to care except for Mukumuku since I heard you can get a bunch from him and sell them. |

I honestly think that that isn't true. While I haven't tried it myself, none of the other villagers give you more than one. So why would they make it different for Mukumuku. (Also they have said Carter gives you more than one, but he does not.)

(Also they have said Carter gives you more than one, but he does not.) Well I did see one video on youtube of a person who had all the records for AWL:SE and he had 6 of the ones you get from Mukumuku and it seems to be common knowledge that he gives you more than one since it is in all the FAQs I've read on this game. |

Mukumuku is probably the one character that I have never befriended in AWL:SE, so it could be true.
