Harry Potter: The Grand Finale Options

For the films, at least.

The first one was released in 2001. I was ten years old! And now I'm about to be 20. It has taken a decade, but I've enjoyed watching them throughout the years. They've grown up with me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Have they grown up with you?

Is anybody excited to see the finale? It's gonna be 4 hours and 38 minutes long. Midnight releaaaaase!

Practically 5 hours...? Eh I mean it looked alright, but no way I could sit down and watch that in a sitting.

Yeah! I was surprised it was that long. But I kind of am okay with it being that long. There's more to see! But it will be a very long sitting. The most ever for me in a theatre. Which movie is the longest movie ever, anyways?

I would like to add that the movie is not 4 hours and 38 minutes long. That's what Flixter originally had, for some weird reason, but now they changed it to two hours. So yeah.

Oooh! I'm definitely excited to see it! A bunch of my friends want to see it with me and I'm not even sure who to go with! *V*
I didn't really grow up with the movies, as I've only seen like... 4 of them, one of which being Deathly Hallows Part 1... which gives me a really good reason to see part 2... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Buuut yeah, I was a biiiiiiig fan of the books back in middle school so I'm definitely really psyched for it. *____*

No, I was originally gonna go with a friend, but we decided to just go the next day, so we could hang out afterwards. Plus, we wanted to sleep, haha. I've been to the midnight releases for the past two, at least.

Why not just go with all your friends as a group?

I saw the first part of the Deathly Hollows & thought it was great.
I'm hoping to see the last part!
But my dad fell asleep during the first part ._. because he said it was kinda quiet. so I'm not sure if I'll be able to watch the 2nd part because I don't want him falling asleep again...

Hehehe, yeah, I probably should! When I saw part one of Deathly Hallows I was a bit confused cause I read the books sooo long ago and didn't even see most of the movies. Don't want that happening again! :B

Oooh! Pahahah. *V* Yeah, it's the same with me! I think I'm just going to see it the day after. But I do have this friend who's been obsessed with the series for a loong time and she really wants to go to the midnight release. She's been nagging me about it forever... Urk! X'DDD

And I would, but the friends that want to go with me are from different schools... so it'd probably be a bit awkward if we all went as a group cause they wouldn't know each other! Then also, there's some friends that want to go see the midnight release and others that are just like "Whatevs let's just watch it the day after the release (IMG:style_emoticons/default/emot-iia.png) "

I'm kind of happy I didn't read the books, in a way, because that way I don't know what's gonna happen next, so I'm more excited.

Well, I'm gonna double post since I just got back from watching the movie. It was amaaaazing! It was an awesome ending to the series. Hogwarts was the perfect setting for all this craziness to go down in! And since I hadn't read the books, I wasn't sure what to expect.


And I went to see it in 3D and the 3D glasses were made to look like Harry Potter's glasses! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

I went to the premiere for this last night! It was truly spectacular. I feel like it still hasn't come to me that the series is over. I feel like rereading the books.

I'm not going to say much. I enjoyed it for the most part, but the ending of this movie pissed me off to no end. There's really no need to elaborate beyond this: I wanted to rip the epilogue out of my book when I first read it and almost went out and bought a second copy so that I could do just that.

That should explain my feelings quite adequately.

I do understand that many fans were extremely angry at the epilouge. The movie makers origianlly were only going to include that clip in the DVD, but they decided to put it back in the theater film last second.

I really wish they had left it on the DVD. Just seeing it ruined my whole experience. I was in a great mood until the "19 Years Later..." dialogue showed up.

My mother loved the epilogue ending, but then again she's so little of a Harry Potter fan that five minutes after walking out of the movie (after seeing it TWICE IN ONE DAY) she couldn't remember the word 'horcrux', was talking about how they destroyed Voldemort's seven "personalities", and was calling Snape "Professor Spade". (And oh god, I WISH I was making this ###### up.)

Granted, she also looked at me like I was crazy when I said that if they'd left Molly Weasley's line out of the movie, the entire thing would've been ######.

At least they didn't mention all of the kids names... >:/

Lolz, I didn't mind that epilogue. I know, those type of endings aren't exactly amazing and creative and don't leave much to the imagination, but I guess I didn't mind it much. Though I never read the books.

Yes, well... I invested a lot of time into Harry Potter as a kid, so the epilogue was like a kick in the teeth for me. It left nothing to the imagination (the book version especially) and was pretty much a "This is the end. Get over it and ###### off already" kind of ending. I was never happy with it and probably never will be. The pre-epilogue ending to the book was so perfect she didn't even need it. It felt like it was tacked on just to tell the long-time readers to get a life and find something else to do. :/

I looked at that ending two different ways when I read the book. At a first glance, I really liked it because it told everyone how things ended up, and I thought that was cool. At another glance, it seemed like it was quickly and carelessly put together. it was extremely short too. The shortness of it almost did make it seem like a slap to the face telling you to go do something better with your life. It's over.

but they didn't have her use the Killing curse.
I saw the movie today; it was all right, but I still like the books better.
