Awesome, glad to see ya join Ichigo! The more the merrier! :D
On Winter 2nd with growing doubts. Almost wonder if I should abandon Nami and marry Muffy or Celia >.> Don't want to be a jerk though, although I haven't seen Nami's last heart event, I'd still feel kinda bad. Though I've accidentally triggered quite a bit of heart events of the other girls... My cow is ending the year with a plesant gift of S milk :D Nice way to end the year. I would very much like advice on the marriage thing though. Is that a jerk move >.> I did sort of want my son to be a Farmer/Rancher or Musician, and avoid art at all costs. Dunno, I just don't think I'd like Nami's son a whole lot.... Eh maybe I'm just being dumb :/ |

I absolutely adore nami's son. My favorite child of all time from any harvest moon game. If you go with nami just make sure you take your son to the villa and gistafa's yurt a lot. Also make sure your friends with gustafa, griffen, lumina, romana, and Sebastian. Nami's son is good at almost everything so turning his interests towards music isn't that hard.

I know I'm double posting, but oh well. I dont really care.
Chapter 1, Season 1, Spring Name: Kozunai Farm: Chorus Farm Dog: Kody Starting Cow: Bella Things I purchased: I purchased a hen, and named her Harmony. I also purchased a rooster, his name is Score. I bought quite a lot of fertalizer for my field, now I have four rows of grass growing. I need a lot more fertalizer before my entire field will grow... :( but I'm gonna purchase the pond first (haven't done so yet) because in this game the pond and tree area in your field aren't really surrounded by grass. I also bought the fishing pole and the brush. People I befriended: I made friends with Nina rather quickly. (In this version you don't start out friends with anybody, not even Takakura...) Nami was the second person I befriended, usually she is one of the harder people to befriend. I thought that Muffy was my friend because she has a red heart in her diary, but alas, she still doesn't look at me when I walk by... I finally managed to get Gustafa to be my friend, and the only reason I mentioned him in this update is because he became my friend on Spring 10th! Although no matter how many times I try to get him to give me the Weird Sickle, he never does...? Oh, and Lumina still wasn't my friend by the end of Spring (she is now though, and she also has three hearts now, but that is going to be saved for the summer update). I saw both Nami and Lumina's first heart event. I answered them both the right way, and didn't offend either of them. Random Observations: I think one of the biggest things that changed between the two version is that now, everyone takes the day off when Van comes to town. Well, except for you and Takakura, but everyone else changes their schedule so that they can go by Van's, and yes, they do actually shop there. They will also mention things about Van's shop. When I spoke to Romana and Ruby before Van's shop opened for the day, they both said "I thought that the shop was going to open today." When I spoke to Lumina after Van had closed up for the day she said, "Are you going to open your shop today?" To which I did, and sold things to several valley go-ers. The next thing I noticed is that people have more a set schedule in this game. I liked the randomness of the original AWL, so the fact that they will mostly be in a specific place is sad... For example, Lumina is in her room from the time she wakes up until 10, when she goes downstairs to play the Piano. After 12 she goes back to her room until 1:30, then she goes and walks down to the Firework Twins place. Then she heads back to the Villa, and in between 7 and 8 she is in Romana's room with Romana and Sebastian. Then at 8 she heads back to her room for the night. The prices on seeds and everything from Vesta's farm has been greatly reduced. The Banana seeds in the original were 1300G, I believe. In AWL:SE they have been reduced to a mere 280G. That is a big change, it's really good though, because I bought five Banana seeds my very first day! They are almost ready to be picked too! That's it for this update! I'm gonna combine the Spring and Summer pictures and post them when I post the Summer update which will be sometime this weekend. |

Man I never realized the tree seed price drop(banana trees were 1500 in the original). And I find it a bit funny that I've still managed to blow off getting a chicken so far (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)
Oh and I've also had kind of random observations as well, like I saw Gustafa and Dayrl talking, as well as Ruby and Murrey, and Flora and Murrey. Was kind of odd to see em talk, and I wish I snagged a picture, but I didn't have my 3DS with me D: |

I don't think it was just the tree seeds that dropped in price. I know for a fact that fertalizer dropped from 120 in the original to 40 in special edition.

Yeah that too. I don't even bother to fertilize in the GC version, I just upseed a few crops with and use the seed maker. Otherwise it's hardly worth it.
I plan on doing some hybrid trees this time around too. I've never gotten into the third generation of hybrid crops, so I'm pretty interested in it. |

Well in AnWL and Special Edition you have to fertalize your pasture before grass will grow.

Year 2, Seasons 3 and 4-
Bought- Nothing Obtained- Cat- Lalande Hatched Female Chicken- Violet Hatched Male Chicken- BBQWing (sold) Hatched Male Chicken- C.Fried (sold) Female Calf- Roasta (sold) Family- I have the awful feeling my son's going to be an artist. My kids have always turned out to be farmers, aside from Muffy's who went down the athlete path, so I was trying for a scholar this time, but I swear the kid only likes art and animals despite all our trips to see the smart people. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/weirdsmile.gif) Maybe he'll do better next year... As to Celia, well, she's there. Villagers- I find that I very much dislike Samantha this time around. I'm not sure why, she's just... rude or something. Iunno. Anyway, everyone loves me, I know they do, even though I never get invited to the seasonal parties unless I stumble upon them. Daily Life- Lotta the same. My son and I visit Daryl or Carter nearly everyday. Making a lot of money off the cows and chickens now, think I'll have paid off my Ruby Spice debt in another season or so. Speaking of the chickens, I'm often getting 3 or more Gold Eggs a day, I don't remember getting so many in any other game. Random Observations- Trees need to grow faster. That is all. I ended the seasons with 21,902G (Fall) and 50,151G (Winter) |

Think I'll marry Muffy, this way all files stay pretty different (Tot with Celia, Koz with Lumina, Ichigo with Nami, me with Muffy). Would rather avoid her son being an athelete and maybe take an interest in ranching, plants, or music if possible. Never fully finished the game, but I've made it to chapter 4 with Celia (accidently neglected her son by sort of ignoring him ^-^") and he was set on art it seemed. I almost think not influencing a kid at all leads them to art... Oh well. I guess I should finish up this year and chapter then...

Here are some tips to keep your son from being something you don't want him to be.
If you are friends with Kody then there is a very strong possiblity he will lean toward Art (especially if you let him play with the Scratch Pad, if you don't want him to be an artist take the Scratch Pad out of the Toy Box) If you don't ride your horse, then your son will lean toward Athele. He will take a lead from you and run everywhere. If you don't want him to be a Rancher, then you have to use the tools to take care of your animals. I.e. Milker, Goat Milker, Milking Room... If you don't want him to become a Farmer, then don't grow any crops! That one is simple! |

"You just seem stupidly happy... I'm sure Celia will rethink the marriage."
Way to be a soreloser, Marlin. Dream on. Me and Celia walked around telling people we were married, after being engaged for a whole two days. I named the kid Mikey. And thus starts Chapter Two. SPRING I bought the Food Processing Room and a star cow to kick off the new year. I named the cow Subaru. And I named the Food Processing Room "Le Fromage XX". Brass and Ciel were hatched. I had never put eggs in the incubator during the end of Fall and the rest of the chapter, because I couldn't be bothered, so I finish off the coop-dwellers this year. I continued my casual mine digging and stumbled onto the D Tablet. Hardy gave me his sickle and Galen gave me his trusty fishing pole. I done the grave washer thing and made Nina, my parents, and the rest of the universe proud. The Hoe and Electric Clippers were also purchased. This finishes off the tools I could buy. Before the season came to a close, Mikey asked if I tink aminals aw cute. I told him yeah. I guess he's growing an interest in them. Then again, I can't tell you how many times I've tripped over him in the pasture, because I didn't know he was there. |

I was playing earlier and thought of doing that, took it and the ball out, but I wasn't sure if it would actually affect anything. Glad you mentioned it, thanks. I feel less like I'm abusing my child by making him play with just a crappy wooden car and some blocks now. Which reminds me of what I came in here to ask, do the building blocks raise any skill? What I had written down in my old notes about toys didn't say anything about the blocks, and I can't find anything about it on any sites. I'm guessing they're for learning or just a neutral..? |

I don't think the blocks raise anything. If I remember right, the ball raised athlete, the car raised science, and the sketch pad is art, but the blocks are just something else to play with. I had it written down on paper somewhere, but I'd have to dig it out to be sure.

That's what I had written down, just seemed a little weird to me that they do nothing. Anyway, thanks.

Thought the car did that though? Would they make 2 toys for the same career? |

Ah I see. I usually do that as well.
Oh and I'm trying to get Muffy's hearts scenes before the year ends, luckily I saw the first 2, but the third one is being a major pain. Was never this hard to trigger in my other files... |

Which one is Muffy's third event? I can tell you how the easiest way is to trigger it. (I know practically everything about this game, it is my favorite :)
