First of all I'd like to make clear that Nintendo has (currently) not announced any plans to release a new Smash Brothers nor do I personally believe the rumours that they will do so at E3. I hope I'm wrong though so that we can all look back at this post and laugh at me, hahahahahahahaha oh my.
Yeah so anyway if there was a new Smash Brothers which characters would you like to see in it? Any particular features or stages? We all had a fun time with Brawl here but for a lot of people it was a major disappointment and for me I had more fun with Melee for some reason despite it having much less content - I can't put my finger as to why though. |

I honestly can't think of anyone that I actually want in the game. I feel like they've hit all the marks as far characters go. Anyways we're guaranteed to get a new Smash Bros game whenever Nintendo puts out a new console. And the reason why you probably enjoy Melee more is probably the same reason why most people share your opinion. It was just a better actual game in terms of gameplay. Take out all the fluff in Brawl like story mode and collecting stickers and all that crud and compare Brawls gameplay to Melee's gameplay. It was faster, more precise, combos actually existed and it was arguably a legit fighting game.
In Brawl Sakurai wanted to remove anything that might make it competitive hence making it slower, more floaty, random tripping and next to no combos for any characters because hit stun in Brawl was almost non-existing. Also the removal of the more technical aspects such as wave-dashing and L-canceling. All that made for just a worse game and I'm sure whatever new Smash Bros game they're making will be no different if Sakurai wants to continue going his same route. |

But I hated the competitive Melee players, they annoyed me to no end with their over analyzing. FOX ONLY NO ITEMS FINAL DESTINATION, and overall douchebagity
One thing I really want (and I hope this extends to the new console in general) is BETTER ONLINE |

Nintendo? Good online? Console? That does not compute at all. I'm not getting my hopes up for that. Nintendo still has no clue how to handle consoles online and as long as friend codes exist I probably will never like it. I just want this new console to have actual good games that aren't just first party titles or from the oceans of shovel-ware the craptacular has Wii has brought us.

What!? I want online. I don't want them to remove it, I want them to improve it. By a lot. The one in Brawl sucked horribly. I want random online matches to be flexible and easy to find an opponent.

It'd be suicide not to, today's gamers have gotten accustomed to online play and it'd just be a pointless step back, it'd be like removing save files and going back to the days where you'd have to start again every time you turned the game off.
Maybe not that drastic but you get the idea |

Well as we've already seen from Nintendo they never like doing the popular thing. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Though I think Nintendo likes to think that they can continue to get by on bare minimums of everything else as long as the games are good. I mean that's ok but people want more than that in a console now. Getting rid of online would indeed be suicide. Sometimes I wish Nintendo would stop trying to be trendsetters and just go with the flow on certain things.

If I'm not mistaken, Nintendo knows there online isn't good, and their goal is to create an awesome online service better than Sony's and Microsoft's.
As for a new Smash, I would prefer if there weren't any clones. It really annoys me that a character slot was wasted for a clone. |

I would like it if the trophy selection was better if anything this time around. One of the cooler things about Melee's trophies in the first place was all the old characters in 3D. Brawl had almost exclusively recent depictions of characters used in games only a few years before it.

Only character I want to see in Smash Bros is Mega Man/X. Been waiting for him for a while, but nothing :/
I also hated the floaty-ness of Brawl and liked Melee a bit better. Probably because I like Roy more than Marth though haha, was so mad when I saw they were only bringing Marth up. Better online would be much better. Hated how there was little to no options for random play, just four players timed. I like stock better personally, so I would never do their online, especially because it was just slow and hectic. Wish you could select what kind of match you were looking for, and as for items it could just be an all or nothing sort of thing so it wasn't so bad. |

I actually have enjoyed Brawl more. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) I liked the adventure mode, as well. I just felt it offered more and the gameplay was still as fun (minus the random online matches and the lagginess of normal matches).
I'd like to see Rick as a playable character! Who is Rick you wonder? (IMG:http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081101124115/kirby/en/images/a/af/Rick2.jpg) He's a Kirby character that appeared ages ago. Umm, but I would also like to see Shadow, too. I can't think of anybody else....I'm sure there's so many other characters out there that are awesome. |

Oh I've seen Rick before! Haven't seen him in action though. Feel like some of the assist trophies wouldn't make bad characters either though, like Fighter Joe and Mac. Although ones like Issac would be cheap (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

I really wanted Megaman (any incarnation) in the last game alongside Snake and Sonic but it wasn't meant to be. He can't even get into Cacpcom's crossovers anymore now!
Characters I really want to see playable - Isaac (golden sun), Ridley, Bowser Jr, Poo. There's more but that's just what comes to mind |

I think they have enough people already. Unless they remove some of the characters they had in Brawl. But really each game added new unexpected/awesome characters and I'm not sure who they could throw in now that would really get people excited. But either way I wouldn't complain if they did come out with a new Super Smash.

Sounds interesting though. The 3DS version and the Wii U version will work together?

Too bad it's too early to know anything at all. I'm sure the Smash community has violently exploded though.

I'm more looking forward to the hype than anything. Looking back that was the best part of Brawl!
