The Bar hasn't gotten much activity, though. There's some old posts on the most recent page.

I'm not really sure what can be done. I returned mainly because I not only remembered user account stuff, but because I remembered the good old times of the series. The series has been pretty slow in America now, so my interest has been on and off with the whole thing.
I'm on another forum about a game series that's Japan only and it's still really active. Besides that there's still new releases on stuff related to it, people are mainly active for this thread: http://forum.project-imas.com/index.php/topic,1144.0.html Started by yours truly. Which allows users to request stuff from the game, mainly performances, thus at least keeping interest. |

Perhaps we should have some kind of mass event that could bring us all together, like a contest or something. How about an art contest of some sort? An anonymous one, so that nobody knows who made what, and the winner is the one that becomes the layout. So then, they'd all have to be harvest moon artwork......

If only that farmer would show up and do various tasks and ring all five of Ranch Story's bells to bring the place back to life! Er wait....
In all seriousness though I feel like Darth has hit the situation spot on. Just need to fix up a few things. Only problem is not too many people will do it. If a new Harvest Moon that attracted decent publicity (like AWL, MM, TOT, 64, heck even AP) came out, and we could get the information first and have it around before other's and successfully fill out the wiki on it, and main page then I'm sure that'd help. After that we could finish up the rest of the missing bits of the wiki as well and maybe keep some of the audience still around, and when we have em we could do a group play or a few events to keep them for a while. Just an idea, and so many things would have to go right for it to work, but it's a thought. For now though, a solid front page would be best. |

For popular games, I think the best thing to do would be RFO information right now. And since contests were mentioned, I was actually kinda interested in asking Jason about doing a similar thing when RFO is releasing here as we did for Sunshine Islands. Just need to see him online some time.

Oceans sounds like it'd be a good start, unfortunately though, wasn't Nurse Fin normally the one to give us information first as she'd import from Japan and knew the language well? And as for the main page, maybe we could scope out a graphics designer for it? Thought Jason was one actually (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) The main page mainly just needs updated with the new staff (Emy, and Kyle haven't been here for a while, and now that Saffy's gone leaving them there could potentially confuse any newcomers that take the time to look at the stuff, so replacing them with Darth, Jason, and maybe a moderator or two would be nice), and maybe dumbed down a bit for simplicity. I mean we could do maybe an event for a new layout? Not sure how it would work though. |

I wouldn't say nobody cares, as I see some people commenting. Lots of people care, it's just that people don't know, can't, or simply don't feel like doing anything. I personally didn't even have time until recently.
I've been working on the AP section of the Wiki a lot recently, mostly scripts and dialogue, since that's my specialty. It's a slow process because it takes forever to get anywhere in a Harvest Moon game. As for information on newer games . . . Well, I can't get information, but I'm willing to help get it up on the site. I don't know if I can do a lot, since I'm still a very new to the Wikicode, but I'm at least willing to try! |

Hi. c:
The only reason I haven't been on much at all, despite how much I love Ranchstory, is because I've been busy with school and whatnot. I'd love to help out with the wiki, but I don't have any of the newer games to play and find information on. But I could help post and edit and whatnot? I'm also not too shabby with graphic design, either. ^-^ |

We need information on a lot of older games, too. =3 Some of really old games just have blank pages.

The only older games I could really help with are AnWL, AWL, and Magical Melody. (MM got broken though, so information on that would be from memory. Luckily I have good memory. ^-^')

I try to give shout-outs whenever I can.
The main reason I stayed so attached to this forum is probably because I noticed how warm everyone was when I introduced myself. And the fact that someone mentioned that I might be able to help RS get back into the swing of things made me feel immediately attached to the forum. So maybe, we could make the introduction thread-thing more of a priority. Because if members go THERE first, and are properly welcomed and introduced, they might feel more inclined to stick around. I came for the harvest moon information, I stayed for the emotional attachment. |

I think what RS has is a very close-knit community, so if we keep on strong with welcoming new members and encouraging them, then it can definitely help. It helped you stay! :D Is there any way to make an automated PM be sent to all new members? Darth, do you know? The PM could suggest they introduce themselves. |

An automated PM to make an introduction might come off as annoying. I mean, I personally hate automated messages.

I agree, no auto PM. The Intro thread is supposed to be the first point of access. perhaps a restriction until they have posted on the Intro page?

It would only be one PM and I'm sure it might push some people to make the introduction topic. I doubt anybody would get that annoyed over it.
That may be more annoying, EB. They may not have intentions to stay here at all and maybe just want to ask a quick question. We shouldn't force them. |
