Crystal: Well, Ducklett I don't like very much along with Swanna. Sigiliph I don't particularly like and Basculin, too. Those are the ones that come to mind immediately.
I actually like Cofagrigus, haha. HMR: Ahh, okay. And well, you'd be copying some other people, too. A lot of people on GameFAQs will be naming them that. But it is a neat name. I didn't like the ice cream face's names, but I kind of like them now. :D And yeah, I saw that, Serebii posted a list, too. For starters I would have to go with Tepig! Nice choice! Though I am a little bias.... |

I'm going to go look at Pokedex data. I'm going to check them against the translations I have and see how accurate they are . . . or how badly they got localized. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif)

Beware! Pokedex spoilers in this post!
I'm up to Tirtouga . . . and I am impressed. I haven't seen anything worth complaining about. They even kept the part about people putting Darumaka's droppings in their clothes to keep warm. (Yes, really.) They left in how Yamask comes from the souls of humans buried in ancient times, too. Later (now up to Jellicent): But they made Gothorita less . . . sinister. In Japan, in hypnotizes people are "spirits them away while their still sleeping" in English, it simply leads them astray. However, it leaves in how Frillish paralyzes its prey and drags it to the depths. Yes, Frillish is an evil frilly octopus ghost. They also left in Jellicent feeding on life energy and that ships and crew vanish in their territory . . . but it doesn't explicitly say that Jellicent sucks the life out sailors who enter its territory like the Japanese version does. . . . Beware the ghost octopi! Still later (now finished): And yet, Litwick sucking the life energy out of people and Pokemon is left intact. Lampent taking the souls of people on their deathbed is also intact. Furthermore, Chandelure burning up your soul and leaving your body is also left alone. All they did was change "soul" to "spirit" for the English entries. Localization teams are weird. =/ And the Litwick line is awesome. =3 Let's see . . . Landorus is demoted from "God of Agritculture" to "Guardian of the Fields" because we can't make god reference in English Pokemon games (but you can have a church). And . . . that's it. There are some minor quibbles with other entries, but no big deal. They did a pretty good job with these, as most are dead on. Also, this has been an excellent way to aquaint myself with all the new names. =3 |

For the most part I like the fifth generation! It reminds me of Johto. But my favourite name might be Purrloin for the cat. I thought it was funny. Pidove though was boring and Zebstrika.... Yeah.

That's good to hear, Crystal. I like Jellicent's.
I kinda don't like the name Zebstrika much, either, to be honest.... |

I don't mind Zebstrika, it's the same as the Japanese name. There's no reason to fault NoA for it, really.
I got tired of waiting for Veekun and Bulbapedia to update with the French names, and went right to the source. XP The French Pokepedia is so much fun. |

Then GameFreak is to blame! Darn them.
I can't believe it's almost here. :D But I'm gonna be pretty busy this weekend. Hoping to have finished 90% of my homework by Sunday; leaving the 10% as a thing to keep from playing too much the first day lolz. |

I took Sunday off from work. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif)
I'm off to learn the German names from PokeWiki! Wish me luck because my internet doesn't seem to like the German site as much as the French. =/ |

Well, that's good. You'll get some good time to play! Which version will you start with first?
Haha, good luck with that. |

The names of Pokemon in all languages are mine! Ahahaha!
>_> <_< Anyway. I think I'm going to run my test file on White version, since that's the one I'm going to play as a girl. |

Ahh, okay. But Gothitelle is in Black! :O
I seriously just spent a while laying on my bed trying to think of a name for Emboar and could not come up with anything! I still need him and Vanilluxe! Give me tips to name thinking. I've already tried writing down what comes to mind. |

Sadly, that is true. Lilligant is in White, though. =3
Tips? Well, let's see . . . what do I do? I think of books, movies, gods, and so on based on same animal or element as the Pokemon. I used to have a Raichu named Jupiter, and I currently have a Dratini named Falkor. Sometimes I pull from the scientific name for whatever animal the Pokemon is based. I have a Persian named Panthera. =3 Sometimes I think outside the box. For example, not pigs . . . but animals similar to them. Like peccaries. Not just fire, but other things that are hot and generate heat. Evolutionary ancestors and relations are good, too. (I have a Vigoroth named M-Therium.) Sometimes I go from what the animal eats or where to find them . . . I have an Aipom named Plantain, for example. Uhm . . . |

You should name Emboar Bacon.
*is shot* 8D Nah, uh, Torch... Is the only other one I got. Male for Vanilluxe would be Frosty, female being Snowe or Creme. |

Yeah, Lilligant is cool.
Wow, haha, that helps out! I shall get started now and come up with a name once and for all. Thanks! You should name Emboar Bacon. *is shot* 8D Nah, uh, Torch... Is the only other one I got. Male for Vanilluxe would be Frosty, female being Snowe or Creme. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) I did think of Bacon, but it's too expected. Frosty the Snowman?! But all my Pokemon are boys, so.... |

Either that or Jack Frost. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)
I'm not good at naming other people's Pokemon. </3 |

I'm using Tepig for my test run, and I am totally set on naming it Applewood. As in applewood-smoked bacon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) But I do like the name Peccary. Hephaestus would be good, too, but I'll save that for a file I'm going to keep. There are some other names I've thought of, but they feel too expected for me.
I like to go for unusual stuff, but sometimes I fail. =/ Oh, well. Edit: Poking around~ Potbelly and Razorback are names I would use, too. Razorback is particularly good for me. I might actually use that instead. |

It's okay, Twi. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Thanks, though.
I was thinking of Hephaestus, but I don't like how it sounds much. I just found out about a species of pig called "barbatus sus" and I may name him "Barbatus" but it doesn't sound that cool....UGH!! |

You could go with the Roman name for Hephaestus. That would be . . . Vulcan, I believe. Alternately, you could go with a sun god, Helios or Apollo.

Vulcan is too close to "Volcarona" and so that's why I decided to not go with that. Apollo sounds cool, but I don't know! Freaking frick!! I hate this!
