Oh, yeah, Nintendo feels they are doing great. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

But yes! Ducklett is another one! Cofagrigus is fun to say, haha.

A lot of them just fall flat this generation. Serperior, Samurott, Ducklett, Klink, Klank, Klinklank . . . . -_-

There are a few I like . . . Gothita, Gothorita, Gothitelle . . . Litwick, Lampent, Chandelure.
Then there's a couple that are just . . . odd. Like Reuniclus. I couldn't figure out how to pronounce that for a while. Isn't the point of translating to make it easier for the American audience? I can pronounce the Japanese name more easily!
Then you get the bad puns . . . like the LGM one . . . Elgyum was it?

You had trouble with Reuniclus, too? I love the Pokemon, but that name is tricky. Best to nickname it, haha. And yeah, Elgyum was it...I think. And I like saying Klinklank. Every time a trainer uses it I will scream "KLINKLANK!!!!"

Yes, I couldn't figure it out untill I looked at Bulbapedia's etemology.
"Ree-younee-clus", I think.

Klinklank is fun to say. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif) Though it is uncreative. . . . not that the Japanese was much better. (Gear, Gigear, Gigigear. >_<)

Yeah, haha. I though they might have kept the Japanese names.

Ahh, okay. That helps me. Too bad he's not available in Black.

Lol, "2nd gear."

Nothing much, Noviwan. Just anticipating the release of this game. And trying to come up with nicknames, but it's hard. D:

Meh, maybe, don't know what to believe lol. I was even kind of considering finally for the first time getting the extra version. Could be a marketing trick, too.

Naw, it's not. Just sit down and scribble some stuff down indiscriminately. Works great. =3

I've tried that, except just sitting and thinking. Hmm, I'll write down stuff, though. But I'm not too rushed yet, since we still got three weeks.

I do have two nicknames already thought up, though.

I would definately write some down. I can virtually guarantee you'll forget a bunch if you don't, and the action of writing helps get your brain moving. I came up with a page and a quarter of potential nicknames over the weekend. Most of them references and some I'm sure I'll scratch out. Just write some names down and don't worry about whether they're good or not, get the creative juices flowing.

Yes. Creative writing techniques applied to Pokemon. Ah, the joys of college life.

And what better way to apply this knowledge than by taking my video games way too seriously. I'm sure my teachers will be thrilled. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif)

I'm sure they'd be a little happy that you used those skills. Maybe even that teacher that has been giving you problems will appreciate it or not. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

Ma-a-a-a-aybe. ;)

On a side note: I love the French. Leopardus is so much better than Liepard. (The German Kleoparda is awesome, too!)

I like the German one best.

Hey, where can you find a list for all the updated names? I'd like to see the Spanish ones.

Spanish is the same as English, almost always are. The Japanese, American, German and French are really the only ones who come up with names on their own. Well, a handful of Asian countries do, but I really can't read those.

Anyway, I found them on Veekun and Bulbapedia. Only the ones that've been officially revealed are on there.

Ahh, yeah, I remember now that there aren't any Spanish ones ever. What a shame, you'd think there would be with more people speaking Spanish than German and French lol.

Keep in mind the French and German names are actually used in France and Germany.

The Spanish basically just copy the American names. They do that with anime, too. A lot of the time, a Spanish dub will have the same cuts and edits as the American dub. The French dubs, on the other hand, are usually unedited and more closely translated to match the original.

They do this with Pokemon names, too. The Americans come with their own names, and the Spanish version usually goes with that. The French and the German come up with their own names, usually closer to the original Japanese. (Hence, Leopardus and Kleoparda from Leopardas instead of Liepard.)
