I wasn't entirely sure where to post this but I figured this would be the safest bet...
I was just wondering how many people on here use Twitter, whether just to simply follow certain celebrities or who actually use it and post things. I joined it quite awhile ago just to see what bands I could find on there that actually posted things, but logged in once, got bored, and didn't go on again til recently. After listening to some of the recent interviews from the cast members from Band of Brothers some of them wanted people to add them on Twitter, so I decided to add a few of them and even one of them added me back {I'm now so afraid to say anything incase I embarass myself xp }, which was pretty weird to get an email saying an actor I recognize added me on Twitter. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaeyes.gif) Anyways, now I check it out every few days just to see the dorky things these actors say on this {some of the things they let people know...}. Now, I think I've maybe made two posts but they've only been replies to other tweets, no one wants to hear about my life, which is another thing that's weird is that regular people seem to think people want to hear about such boring and mundane activites. What do you think about the celebrities that are obsessed with it and will post about such personal things? How many of you wish this fad would just disappear? Discusssssss. |

I've never had a twitter; I think it's ridiculous. However, my mother was obsessed with it for a few months. She would follow everybody she had a remote interest in and never tweet anything about herself. Everyday she would be on it arguing over stupid ###### in retweets, and generally wasting her time when she could've been doing so many other constructive things. Eventually it got so bad that she was spending most of her day in flamewars and ignoring everything else. Since Twitter's a website there really wasn't much we could do in terms of blocking it and preventing her from going... so we kinda just had to wait for her to wake up. It pretty much took until she managed to get a job and had to spend five weeks in training for her to get off it.
So, really? I think it should burn and burn ###### hard. Twitter is a monster that preys on people who are bored and think they have entitlement. |

I've been to Twitter...twice. Once, because I clicked a link on Google, looking at an actress that I like. The other time was when Jason did his whole, Jasey Fangirl Twitter thing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) That's it. I think it's stupid. I don't really care what others have to say about their lives. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Now, actors/actresses who have Twitters and keep their fans up to date about certain things, like, maybe give a bit of info out about a new episode of their show, or movie, or whatever, that'd probably be more interesting. Unless it's something like that...I really don't care. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Facebook statuses are enough.

I have never had Twitter before, but I've seen someone's account. I really don't understand any of those type of sites Myspace, Facebook ect. I don't know what my sister even does on her Facebook account. Twitter is probably the most useless in my opinion though. Just because the things people are supposed to post seem pretty mundane. It's boring enough to do why would I want to take the time to write about it? And who would bother to read it? I do understand the celebrity thing. Because people go crazy over information about their lives. Like reading magazine articles about them looking them up on Google. Now they can get news directly from them. I've never liked a celebrity enough to care what was going on in their life, but I know people who do. So I guess Twitter is useful for those types of people. I mean who I am to criticize how people waste their time. I spend plenty of time doing useless stuff because I think it's fun. If it starts consuming their life then it is definitely a problem. I just hope no more of these sites come out there are already too many. I'm not sure if it's just a fad though. Sites like these will probably be popular for a long time.

Oh, I'm not so sure Twitter will be popular for that long. I'm pretty sure a lot of people have started deleting their accounts.

Yeah, I'm in no way saying I'm afan of it, I actually hate the whole entire thing {and really don'tmunderstand regular people who go on it and actually post things about their regular boring lives}, but now that I've found all these actors I loved in Band of Brothers, and they actually post interesting things about what they're working on {minus the one guy, all his Tweets are about how annoying his wife is and how he spends all his time taking his son places... DORK!}.
Like I said before, I could careless what they ate for breakfast or where they just bought clothing, but sometimes it's cool to get firsthand information on a show I'm interested in. I'm sure it'll last for another year, maybe, just like Myspace had it's run and now it's Facebook and Twitter. I'm sure in the new year there will be another social networking site that'll become the new obsession. |

I made one a long time ago, because I didn't really understand what it was. And after the 15 minutes that I used it and found out about it I thought it was boring. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) So, I never came back to it until recently and found out I had two people or something following me. 0.o Yeah....I didn't know them and I didn't know why they chose me since I had never tweeted anything. >.> Maybe I'll go back now and check it (I sent them a message asking why they were following me since I don't know them and I haven't posted a thing).

Ummm I don't twitter this is one trend I won't follow. I started with a live journal then it was myspace then it was facebook. however the twitter train does not appeal to me. I have no need to update something as im doing every little thing seems like a chore and I don't like chores.

I now use livejournal because I've now met some pretty amazing people on there that I have tooo much in common with {Band of Brothers obsessing girls xp } and basically use it to talk back and forth with them.
I really hate Twitter, but like I said, it's kind of funny to read some of these actors that I respect say some funny dorky things. Oscar, yeah, I have a few people following me and I have no idea, I think they just follow people HOPING you'll follow them back, but I could care less about some random person. |
