Ideas appreciated, Help for a Harvest Moon Cosplay Options

Hello Hello~

as some might already now, I'm a cosplayer.

Right now I'm working on a Harvest Moon Wind Bazaar Cosplay. And I really really need some help.

About the hats. and the feathers.

I'm not sure what kind of hat they are wearing exactly. is is a cowboy hat? Another kind of hat? Does anybody know where I could something in the shape like that? Or in a shape that I could change.....important: it should be cheap!

What else....About the feather?
Should I use two real ones and stick them together to get the colering? are there feathers like this? oooor should I use cellular rubber and glue feathers on it to get texture?

before I forget it...I make the male character....but I also help my friend, who is going to make female character.

For those hats, you'll probably need to make it yourself. I'd recommend using high-quality felt (or wool) and just getting feathers from a craft store. (They should sell "natural" feathers. There is a variety of bird feathers that are mostly white with a darker tip.)

If you need something more concrete to base it off of, I'd suggest looking up patterns for a short-brimmed hat (for the boy) and a cuffed hat (for the girl). Maybe I'm just underestimating things, but the hats themselves don't look particularly complex, so you can probably get away with using some very basic hat patterns and just modifying things a bit.

Also, you can try looking up varieties of brimmed hats and cuffed hats and see if you can find something that resembles them and then modify them, but that could be expensive. :/

Like... for the girl's I'd probably use something like this:

Technically, they're both very similar, but to pull off the stitching on the boy's hat, you might have to make an exception and go for something closer to a boonie/short-brimmed hat. (Which is why I suggested it.)

They're very similar in shape, but the girl's is much easier to simulate with a standard cuffed hat, whereas the boy's isn't.

For the boy's hat, you could use a Navy Blue Fisherman's hat, but you'd need to embelish the rim.

or you can always make one out of felt and cardstock. not as hard at it seems.

I just wanted to thank you guys again for the ideas :3

the hats are finished!!!! I got my WindBazaar Guide Book I bought in Japan....and magically there were really good pictures how the hat should look like (from the side, from the top...)

So in the end...I made it totally myself....my mum helped a lot :3

Now I just have to work on the vest, shirt and pants - for the last I already have one set...but I don't like the colors (grey-white, stripes are the same size) so I'm recoloring right now....grey fabric with ice-blue stripes....

*goes off to conquer bells, shoes and other stuff needed~*


btw if any body wants the pattern how to make such a hat...I can write it down :3

Amazing job on the hats! They are amazing looking!

As for shoes, I would say the male character is basicly wearing like constuction worker boots, so if you could find those. A thinke pair.

As for the girl, I think a pair of flat Mary Janes would work.
