I shall call him Chrisgopher!

Also I wouldn't mind if that was the last evolution of the grass snake.

...What the crap is it supposed to be?

Why do so many of these new Pokemon look like precisely nothing?

It looks like a bat/squirrel to me.

Yunno, at least half of these pokemon can be figured out. Whether it's a pigeon, zebra, ape, pig, otter, chinchilla, or even the stylish piggy bank.

People keep saying that the new generations keep getting worst.
But in my opinion, people that are new to pokemon, are use to the current generation of pokemon. They look back at the first generation and think they are bad and "weird" because they're used to their kind. Your first experience is always the best in my opinion
Also, with every new generation of kids, they are exposed too sugar coated, safe, cute and hugable crap, without realizing it just sucks in their money.
( Hope I'm not insulting anyone )

Example;

Musicals revolving around teens.
Then; Grease
Now; High school musical

Sooo.. Pokemon are cuter and more unimaginative.
I bet they can pull of better pokemon they just don't want to get sued.

Gang member, caused troubled.
too this.

New pokemon fans will like it
Old pokemon fans don't.

No, that thing is ugly. Gen 1, 2, 4 were good. 3 was ugly. Mostly. 5 started off weird, probably because of what you mentioned. Not being used to it, but now its about 50/50. Some very unpokemonish ones and still some cool ones I would love to fight and capture. Haven't seen any I would want to keep on my final team yet, besides smugleaf.

The blue and yellow spider has me interested, but would like to see the front. Like some of the other ones in the screenshot only pictures, but those are the ones I would want just to fight. Or capture.

Mijumaru is adorable. D'= I've been a fan since the first generation, but I still think it's totally irresistable.

I haven't had any major issues with the designs from any generation. Indeed, my only problem with the fourth is that way too many Pokemon evolve from or into old Pokemon. In the second and third generations, you could go without catching any previous generation Pokemon and be fine. That's a whole heck of a lot harder in the fourth generation.

The fifth generation is confusing me. It's alternating between "What a cutie! And that other one is pretty cool!" and "What the heck is that? That doesn't even look like a Pokemon. That looks more like a Digimon . . ." So I don't really know what to make of it right now. I am liking the fact that nothing seems to evolve from/into previous Pokemon yet.

As much we can critique the Pokemon in generation 5, the game hasn't been officially out yet. And game leaks/statements are low.

Who knows? Maybe the developers wanted to have a different Pokemon style.. Maybe that's their goal.

BUT
I have too agree, the water pokemon is cuteeee~

Serebii has some nice, clear pictures, confirmed names, character details, new attacks, and some other stuff on their front page right now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasmile.gif)

Also, Mijumaru kicks Pokabu's butt. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif)

Pokabu will just scare it away with it's awesome powers. Mijumaru will forget it's a water type. That is the power of the Pokabu.
