Hmmm.....Ethnic Foods from My culture....Seafood and Tofu Hot Pot and Sweet and Sour Pork

Ethinc foods from other cultures: Pierogi (Polish), Crispy Pata (Phillipino), Haggis (English/Scottish), Sushimi (Japanese), Menudo sin Maiz (Mexico), and Weiswurst, Bockwurst, and Knackwurst (Germany).

I'm part German, and I like this German potato dish my grandma makes. From other cultures, I love Italian pasta, and Mexican rice. I like lots of other foods from different cultures too, but I only though of these for now.

Pupusas! I love them much My friend Joseph Is of El Salvadorian Descent. His mother made them once while I Stayed over at his house. They are Godly Delicious!

Um, let me see:

1. Chicken Paprikash (Czech) it's this chicken that's cooked til it falls off the bone and it's swimming it gravy made with sour cream and paprika

2. Ttuk Bok Ggi (Korean)- It's this really good rice cake that is covered in red pepper sauce. Mmm.

3. Bu Chim Gae (Korean)- It's a spring onion pancake.

4. Packzi (Polish)- It's this wonderful jelly doughnut that Catholic Poles eat during lent.

5. Latkes(Polish/Yiddish)- A fried potato pancake. Wonderful.

6. Humus and Pita Chips (I'm going to go with Greek, but I'm not positive) Chickpea spread and crispy pita bread.

7. Chicken enchiladas with salsa verde (Mexican; My pal, Oscar, loves salsa verde. :P)

8. Udon (Japanese)- The best noodle ever invented. Period.

9. GOOD macaroni and cheese (American? Italian? Whatever...) With the crumbs on top

10. Spicy Korean Ramen soup

11. Steamed white rice (Asian)

12. Ratatouille (French)- A yummy dish of cooked veggies.

13. Lasagne (Italian)

14. Gnnochi (Italian)- Potato pasta that is excellent with marinara sauce.

15. Onigiri (Japanese)- Rice balls. I love them soooo much. Especially with soy sauce.

I'm sure there's more, but I'll edit later.

Um.... I actually don't eat anything that comes from my own ethnicity... Unless you consider Tex-Mex an ethnic food.

I eat a lot of flautas, tamales, barracho beans, soft tacos, crispy tacos, quesadillas, salsa, and other tex-mex foods (though I despise enchiladas :P)...

And... I also eat a lot of Italian food. (Of which I generally prefer anything made with chicken and stuffed with herbs.)

Let's see... and then I tend to like a lot of Chinese food, Korean food, Vietnamese food, and Japanese food. I think my favorite foods would have to be Curry Rice and fried Bean Curd, though I also enjoy things like Hot and Sour Soup, Donkatsu, pretty much anything with duck in it, and many various sorts of teas.

Thai food is also pretty good. I remember having this lemongrass soup stuff that was excellent. ^w^

OH. And cajun food. Cajun food is goooooood. I especially love Crawfish Etoufee. <3

As for ethnic foods from my culture, Britain is too cosmopolitan to talk about "ethnic food" unless you mean traditional stuff, which I don't eat much of since most of it contains so much cholesterol it makes my arteries recoil.

I guess most of my preferred food is "ethnic". My utmost favourite dishes are~

-Salade Niçoise
-Irish stew with potato farls
-Curried udon
-Japanese curry with rice
-Gyoza dumplings with vinegar
-Stir-fries of all sorts
-Almost all Provençal dishes (sorta my own ethnicity, though my grandparents are from the north of France)
-New York deli-style bagel (pastrami, swiss, pickles, mustard <3)
-Lox & cream cheese bagel
-Various Indian curries, particular favourites are specialities
-Thai green curry (especially with loads of lemongrass and coriander)
-Kimchi (Korean, methinks; spicy cabbage & other vegetables)
-Most Chinese noodle dishes
-Various African vegetable/meat dishes I couldn't name
-Moussaka with lamb
-Most Italian pasta dishes, especially with pesto
-Italian baked aubergine
-Soba noodles

I must second the latkes and hummus with pita chips! I also enjoy yakisoba and onigiri, as well as a bunch of curries. Italian pasta is wonderful too! Pfft! I'm not picky about what I eat as long as it's vegetarian, and I love so many foods from different cultures! (And while I'm thinking of it, gnocchi's pretty excellent too!)
As for food from my own culture, when I used to eat it I always loved niku. I often consider going back on my whole eight and a half years of vegetarianism just to eat the stuff again. Unfortunately, now I don't know anyone who makes it anymore since Grandpa died. Apparently Grandma does sometimes, but it's never quite dry enough. (For the record, I should probably mention that 'niku' is dried caribou meat. Excellent stuff, it is!) Smoked salmon and redberry tea is also quite nice.

One time, I ate this absolutely phenomenal meat and tomato dish. It was Egyptian. I though I'd died and gone to heaven, but I never understood the dish's name. (Probably because I was too busy gawking at the cute Egyptian man who made it.) So, on the rare chance that someone knows what I'm talking about, I'd appreciate a name, as I'd like to look up the recipe for it.
