Lindy, did anyone ever tell you that you bear a striking resemblence to a young John Fogherty?

Are you happy with Chicken's observation?
Also, you need to give a deadline for Diplomacy moves

Aerosmith's going to be Boston, MA this summer. You going? Baaah. The nearest tour city to me is like 4 hours away. DX

Was cool

I'm way too busy to go see them. But Steven Tyler usually hangs around my town so there's always a chance encounter.

Is every picture you put in your avatars and signatures supposed to remind me of you? They do look similar...

The avatar would be Lindstrom in the 1970's and the signature would be Lindstrom in the 1790's.

Has Lindstrom enjoyed his time off recently for Summer? We've all kind of missed you. It's odd not having you around much anymore.

I won't, but the mysterious, enigmatic CHALLENGER X will! "Who is Challenger X?" people will wonder.

Last few weeks I haven't really had any time to myself, been busy from 7 AM to 10 PM on most days. I think next week I might go on a random adventure though.

I'm already wondering myself!

So what is that machine your working on suppose to do? Filter out something from the water? Salt I'm guessing?

An adventure sounds fun. Have you thought of taking time off from everything and just going on a vacation of sorts? I know and adventure is typically the same, but I don't generally put them in the same category.

What kind of temperature differences do you see between the two reservoirs?

Also, what's the middle pump for? Does it help with the heat transfer (forced convection)?

That is, if this tech isn't super secret.

The big wheel in the top middle is a turbine. The spinning things on the sides are pumps. The green stuff that bubbles is a refrigerant like ammonia. Basically, you boil the refrigerant using the hot surface water (~24 degrees Celsius) of the ocean, and then cool it using the cold water (~4 degrees Celsius). The pressure from when it's boiling pushes the turbine and creates electricity.

Vacation is for tourists, adventure is for the brave. There will be bears, mountain lions, and water skiing probably.

You need about 20 degrees C difference to get best results, which is generally found in warm Equatorial waters for the most part. The pump in the middle is to help circulation. The technology isn't secret, in fact it's been around for over 100 years (though really only in theory, never been applied industrially).

Wow. That's pretty neat. I hate to sound stupid, but what exactly is it for? I mean, I get the jist of it, but...

EDIT: It's been answered, nevermind. Once again, that is really cool.

Have you ever wrestled a bear with your own two hands? I'm pretty sure a man with your stature could easily come toe to toe with a grizzly.
