I don't know if this is a topic that was posted before but has anyone ever been in on or seen on in person?
I have so far been in three the most recent one was on May 7th 2010. Me and my friend were driving home from a double date in Plainfield which went okay. So it was dark and he decided to make a left turn and BAM! My side including me gets hit by another car luckily I was not really hurt other than my Right side being extremely sore. My right hand was skinned to I have to keep ointment on it. Anyway I have not been able to contact my buddy I think he thinks that I am mad at him. I hope he shows up or contacts me soon. I can understand that Friday was the first time we'd hung out since he moved away half a year ago. His car was totaled I got to ride in an ambulance for the first time ever we took him home after they gave me the okay. So how about you guys? |

HOW CAN THAT BE My family doesn't own a car, so no accidents for me other than witnessing a little old French grandmother get knocked over and killed in Dieppe. |

I've had my fair share of accidents and I have seen my fair share of accidents (including deaths).
Once you've been in one, you change your way of driving. Like Humpty Dumpty, once you fallen, you never can be completely whole. |

Never been in an accident, but I have almost been killed twice by (assumed) drunk drivers. Both being after midnight..
One being someone ran a red light as my friend was turning left. I, naturally was in the passenger seat and would have taken the full impact. My friend got PO-ed and chased down that car as I called the cops. In the end, my friend and I got to watch him get handcuffed and put in the cop car. =') The other I was driving around a highway wide corner and at the last second avoided someone who was driving down the wrong side. We were both going 70+. I have a 2006 cobalt, which is a fairly tiny car. No doubt a 140mph head-on would crinkle that car into a soda can. EDIT: Found the topic I wrote about this. I should probably stop driving at night huh ;) I'm really glad you're okay, Noviwan. :) EBWonder: I've never seen any car accident deaths, thank God. But it does change how you drive, for sure. |

How can that be, there is a bear in the car, haha. That's funny!
I've been in one and in a same situation as Jason's first incident. Except the guy didn't run the red light, my friend just didn't see the car and the guy in the truck that was about to smash into the passenger seat (where I'm at) had to stop suddenly; it was scary. >.> There have been almost situations, too. If I remember more things I'll post. |

If I remember more things I'll post. Ooh reminds me, since that one in particular, I keep an eye on any oncoming lanes at stop signs or lights to make sure drivers come to a complete stop. Sometimes I get a little too paranoid about that, I admit. Safety first, no chances. D; |

Never been in a car crash but when I was around 11 I was hit by a car which then knocked me against a railing, I could have probably gotten straight back up and walked it off but a bunch of strangers crowded around me and were like "no! you have to go to the hospital" so I had to wait around for the ambulance. Everything was fine I just had a huge mark one side of my face from scraping across the floor which disappeared after a week, I went home, played some Final Fantasy 8 and carried on like nothing happened.

I am also paranoid, haha. I hate it when someone honks because they're impatient. I want to put the car in reverse and slam into them, lolz.

I haven't wrecked, yet. My friends seem to be extremely accident prone, though. >__>
One was speeding up an icy country road ON THE WAY TO MY HOUSE, and flipped her car completely over the fence. Not a scratch on her, but her car was totaled. The other one got ran off the road by someone coming home from the methodone clinic and then hydroplaned. They were ON THE WAY TO MY HOUSE Her mother ended up getting a hematoma which had to be surgically fixed (if memory serves) and my friend got cut up, but was otherwise okay. Of course, naturally my mom and I flew out to the sites both times to make sure they were okay. |

Aw nice strangers! :D I was in a car accident 2 years ago. Some old guy ran a red light. I had a broken arm and some general bruises and such. It wasn't fun. |

My goodness ever since that latest accident I have now become Extremely paranoid I had to see my doctor and he was like oh thats normal because like I said in my first post. That was my worst accident ever. I always do realize now that I was passenger in my first accident I also have to hide the fact that I was in a car accident from my friends because my buddy the driver whats me to keep it on the low. Man this really sucks I am only getting sore as the days go on and the weather is so depressing. I wish I was as lucky as you all who never got in accidents or had really close misses. I am kind of afraid to pursue my drivers license because of this. However on the plus side this accident gave me a great idea for a story I want to write. It's all in the works but it has a lot do with scars.
Funny story I saw my best friend he saw my hand all wrapped he was like "Dude what the helk did you do to your Hand man!?" I replied. "I got into a fight with a car!" He was astonished and said. "WHOA... wait so who won!?" Then I did one of my triumphant voices. "Do you see a car around right now? Well thats because they're scared." |

I've never been in an actual accident but one day walking home from school during winter, my dad was supposed to be picking me up because it was too cold, and he never showed up so me and a friend started walking home and we saw a car in a ditch that looked like my family's, and it was.
Some young guy who didn't even have his license yet rammed into my dad, the guy also didn't have insurance and we never got paid to fix the car. -.- The past few years my dad and I {while I've been in the car}, we've almost been in pretty bad accidents but somehow didn't. Driving home at night from where my dad and I work is pretty scary since it's a country road going to a casino with absolutely no street lights until you hit the highway. And there's always a nutcase or two coming or going to the casino and thinks they own the road. |

I've never been in a car accident. However I did see a really bad accident back when I had to live in Singapore, where cars were unnecessary (because of the public transport and the fact that it was ridiculously expensive to drive one).
I was riding the bus to school when some truck driver ran a red light. The truck then collided with another bus. I didn't actually see it happen until I heard the screeching of the brakes and until some kids in my bus started screaming. I did however look into one of the ambulances and I wish I hadn't seen what I saw but I guess it made me a lot more paranoid about safety on the road. A lot of people were injured and it was announced later in a news article that the truck driver had died in the hospital. :c |

The only accident I ever saw was a really bad. Both cars were ruined. It was a long time ago so all I can really remember is my dad parking the car in the middle of the street and running out to drag one of the drivers from his wrecked car. His arms were bleeding really badly and he looked like he was unconscious, but I never found out if he survived or not. And about three years ago my younger brother who was around 11 at the time was hit by a car while he was running down a crosswalk. The driver was trying to sneak past the cars that were waiting to let him pass because he didn't see there was someone on the crosswalk. The driver ended up serving so instead of getting hit head on his foot was crushed and his face was sideswiped by the car's mirror. He has made a full recovery since then. I have never been in an accident, but once while I was in the front seat a large truck tire exploded and some of the debris flew into my open window and hit me in the face. I wasn't able to see what happened to the truck.

Ah, I forgot one I saw last summer... Err.. possibly the summer before that, I really can't remember now.
My Dad and I were coming back from Toronto.. Okay, then two summers ago then, when visiting my grandfather. We were about half an hour from home and suddenly the traffic just stopped and we were in traffic for about an hour until we saw the accident, and we also had about 10 police cars race pass us and ambulances. It turned out to have been an 18 wheeler and someone on a motorcycle and the motorcycle was smashed to bits and the 18 wheeler was on it's side and had broken through the barrier. We never saw or heard what happened to the people involved, but it didn't look promising. |
