But isn't life, too? Everything is a learning experience so why do we need rules to follow by? Why should something written in a book be taken as law?

And what makes the Bible so true, in your honest opinion? I have asked this question to so many Christians and never recieved a proper answer. I meant all the stuff about angels and magic bowls and eternal life. The rest is the same assortment of proverbs and guidelines you'll find in any religion, usually as a means of social control. |

Who's to say there isn't proof of signs and wonders just because some chose not to see them? ;)
Yes, ma'am. I do indeed have an iPod. :) Foofoo, before I answer your questions, answer mine. |

It's going pretty awesome. Just got back from shopping ($15 iTunes and got a KISS Sonic Boom Tee and some other shirts at Walmart for 3 bucks each!) and then went bowling.

I'm asking you these questions because I'm genuinely interested how religious people justify their faith to themselves.

Okay, then. Magic bowls? Not only do I not understand that, but I also wish atheists, agnostics, and the like would quit thinking Christianity involves magic. That is generally a pagan theme. And as for angels and eternal life. Well, I've seen people pray for traveling mercies out on the highways and sudden their car becomes completely totaled, yet they are absolutely unharmed. The reason that I figure they don't show themselves very often is because they have better things to do than prove to the doubtful that they exist. As for eternal life, I just see that there is no end to the awareness of one's self. There HAS to be more after this. Existence doesn't just stop. You can't prove that death is the end. You've never been dead. Surely, the body ceases to function, but does the inner being?

*aplauds Chicken* What denomination of Christianity are you? (Like, Baptist, Catholic, Methodist....I'm not positive 'denomination' is the right word, and if it isn't, I can never remember the proper one. x-x)

What does she deserve applauding for? She's still saying she believes in something that you can't ever prove.
Honestly, I feel better about dying knowing that there might not be anything after death than to fully believe when I die I'll end up going bowling in heaven with Frank Sinatra and Elvis. What kind of iPod do you have, and how many songs? I lost all of my songs now and am too depressed about that to download iTunes yet lol. |

I am really my own type of denomination, but I most closely associate with The Assemblies of God church.
I have an 8G iPod Nano in silver with a black touchpad. (Wanted yellow, but they discontinued them in the 8GBs. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalacry.gif) ) I have 52 songs, mostly because I choose to abide by the law. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) And, aww. That would suck. How many did you have? Probably in the thousands. |

Oh, yeah! That's right, we like the same color. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) I forgot. Hmm? Me? I'm Baptist, personally. A PK...pastor's kid.
Have you ever played any of those online games? |

Not sure of the exact amount but around 2,500, and yes, that's mostly also abiding by the law. The only downloaded songs on my iPod are ones I'll download to seeif I like a band or want to buy their cd. I don't bother with actually buying from iTunes since I'd rather have the actually CD with the artwork. I even own quite a lot of vinyl albums, and no, not all old bands. :P
I can't believe you only have 52 songs, and I get bored with my iPod sometimes and just set it to shuffle. And yeah, it's going to take forever to upload all my cds again... Ugh, really not looking forward to it lol. Are you planning on going to university/college next fall? |

Nah, those online games are too hard for me to follow. Bleh.
I've only had the thing for around two months. Just slowly building. I always spend the card in about a day when I do get one. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Yes, I am. I'm going for an MBA in Social Work and then going to graduate's for a doctorate in psychology or social work. Probably the former since it's more avaliable. |

No, but I feel the sudden need to walk on my hands. Does that count?
Well, I was psychologically abused as a child and I want to save more kids from that, but even more so, I feel a burden for little girls who are sexually abused by a relative and those that are sold into prostitution. I want to start my own firm and do what I can to help. Eventually, my dream is to expand and start rescuing children from secks-trafficking in Asia. |
