I need to work on it, too. I've only done it once, but that was to unlock the Expert Staff ghost thing. The other day when I was playing, I went flying over one of the ledges; you know where it does a sort of S thing right before the snowboarding shy guys? I went flying over the first little cliff and landed on the other side, going, "OH MY GOD, WHAT JUST HAPPENED!??!?!" xDDD It was funny. But that's not the first time something like that has happened. I was doing Wario's Gold Mine, and flew up into the air and skipped part of the thing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) I'm having a hard time deciding on how to handle that Shy Guy half pipe part, got an idea on what to do just don't know how to get it down without screwing up horribly. Oh and I unlocked a buncha easy to unlock stuff today, and Baby Luigi since I finally got around to it. Theres some karts and bikes I want to unlock that look like they're really good, but seems like a lot of work.
Edit: Oh and my internet still isn't working properly yet. They said they'd try to get it completely handled by wedsnesday, but we'll have to see. |

It kind of feels like most of the vehicles focus on a specific area, with varying levels of ability in other areas. Because I'm all about drifting, I stick to the high drift vehicles, which have high speed too. That includes the Mach Bike and Wild Wing so I use those pretty regularly.

I tend to use the Mach Bike since I can get a good sharp turn out of it cutting time, oh and Lindstrom I was going through some TT stuff, and saw like all of yours and you have incredible times on courses. I think there were only a small few that I flipped through that you weren't above that road sign with a 10 bubble.

On my main license I have everyone on my friend list beat in every course, except DK Summit since I beat my old time on the Captain Steve license.

That's insane. I have hard time with expert ghosts even, but I imagine you beat pretty much all of them by a good couple of seconds. Do you practice alot or is it just that you can play against your brother whenever like you said you did with SSBB?

My brother's more into Smash Bros and I'm actually more into Mario Kart/F-Zero. I like to think that playing F-Zero gave me an edge in understanding how to be a better racer, in that I can think about how to reduce my time. Anyway it does take me a number of tries to get the Time Trials right, like usually 20-30 minutes at a course. I start over if I go offroad, hit a wall, fall off course, or just plain suck.

I could see how F-Zero would help, and I always restart if any of that happens to me, unless I hit an obsticle in a small way that I can easily recover from.

If I don't get a good boost at the beginning of a Time Trial, I usually quit instantly. X.X;
I have only the costumes to unlock now. Been that way for quite a while. But from memory, it sure takes a heck of a long time to do so. I could just go check my Prima book now but, meh. I haven't started the DK Summit Time Trial yet. And I really have to remember to. >3>; |

I watched a video on Youtube to get an idea of how where to use the mushrooms (I'd been using them in a different place). When I finally got all the way through without restarting (towards the end of playing, I kept blowing out at the beginning, and having to restart, I'd hit a Shy Guy my first lap, or I'd fall off the cliff my last time around), I'd shaved 2 seconds off, putting me at 2:14. :] I'll probably work more on it in a little bit. :D

... did you just say you're at 2:14... you gotta be kidding me you beat my best time by ONE SECOND. Ugh I gotta get workin on that, but I've cut every turn as sharpy as I possibly could. Got an idea on what to do so I'll give it a try.

I want to get atleast 3rd in this tourney... It's my goal right now, Lindstrom will probably get first since all his times are amazing, that or Saffy since I heard he was good, but he said he was busy and wasn't sure if he could play.

Hey, Charmy's pretty good herself.
Anyway, my secret is skipping across the first turn after the hills and before the shy guys, and saving my mushrooms for the last round/emergencies. |

Have no clue how good Charmy is since I've never played her, but have you seen Lindstroms time trail scores? It's pretty hard to beat unless you're pro at it.

I think she has 3 stars next to her wheel, so I'm pretty sure she's good. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)
And for some reason, I play really good when listening to Poker Face by Lady Gaga. o-o |

DK Summit time trail. Just try to get the best time is all we're aiming for right now.

Saffy and Charmy are pretty amazing racers. When I first added them I had to redo like half of my Time Trials to beat them, and I certainly wouldn't be surprised if they beat many of them. It comes down to how much time you can put aside to make sure you have a good enough performance, plus how well you know the courses.
