Twi: Nintendo's repair is very speedy, and they probably won't charge you. When mine broke, it took my Wii two days to get from Houston to California and two days to get back, if I remember correctly, not counting the day it was in for repair. And it only took one day for the repair! Just... don't tell them if you ever opened up the Wii. >> Long as you didn't leave any marks, you should be fine.
And I wasn't charged, even though I had a 2+ year old launch Wii. O:

I basically followed whatever answer choices made sense for Crystal to be a romantic, and she turned out to be one (Romantic is apparently the least common type for Gill's children). Though sometimes it's not as easy, and fogu will help if you really want to be sure.

Here's another question (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) I was wondering how the whole New game + worked. The only thing I know is how you send one of your kids off to a new island or something and it's like starting a new game, but does it force you to save over your current save file? What do you get for doing it (besides having to do everything over again)? And is your child now a character in the town? Or just made a mini guest appearence?

As far as I know, you choose the gender and style of your new main character and the child shows up and gives the new character the item you gave them (if any) but then vanishes for you to start anew. I know you keep your tools, but everything else I'm not sure. And I'm kind of lazy right now to roll over and open my guide. c: <3

Soooo I'm stuck between names for my first girl child. </3
I'm torn between Foehn and Eris. At first I was really into Foehn until I heard the pronunciation of it. Eris has a nice fit to it, but it seems a little too normal for my tastes. :|
Opinions?

Never met a girl named Eris so it's uncommon to me, and how do you pronounce Foehn? My first son was born just today on my game.

Most commonly like "fern". :/
But in my head, I think a kind of "fehn". Though it looks more like "phone".

Eris is like, a Greek mythology name that rings a bell for me. I believe.
Goddess of Rainbow maybe?

Ever watch Billy & Mandy? That blond chick with the golden apple. That's Eris, goddess of discord.

Oh yeah! I had completely forgotten about her (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Billy and Mandy was one of the shows I watched growin up sad they took it off the air though. Anyways it really just depends on what you like (name wise) it sounds like a generic answer I know, but your the one who is going to see it whenever you play AP. Though I do lean a little more towards Eris...

I like the look of Foehn. Though, to me, it looks like it'd be pronounced "FOE-in." :\

I named my boy Archer, because for some reason, I felt a great need to name him after one of the characters from a book I really liked. I'll name my little girl Fire, after another character in it. :3

You can give your child a present as they leave, then you start the new game as usual, and your child gives that present to your new character. You still have to go around collecting tools from villagers (except the hoe and watering can which you always start with) but all of your tools are level 5 and the watering can and hoe are both goddess level. You also have a maxed out energy bar, and while you can still collect the power berries they don't actually do anything the second time around but refill the energy bar. Unfortunately money and lists don't transfer over like they did in ToT.

Pretty much.

At the start of new game +:
The child you sent over gives you a present the previous character gave them at the end.
You get a Goddess Level Hoe and Watering Can
You eat two or something power berries

Like its been said, money, lists, and other items do not carry over. And occasionally, you get letters from your parents. Not sure if that part is true yet. Stupid King Salmon, only coming in Summer and Fall. That at least gives me time to get my fishing pole to level 3.

You do get letters from your parents on occassion. I've seen it in too many places, including the guide, for it not to be....

That chihuahua from AWL that you could supposedly get was literally everywhere, and that was just a rumor.

I'll see if I can find a YouTube video with the letters or ask someone who's actually done New Game+ to confirm it.

Honestly I can't remember if I've gotten any letters from my 'parents' or not, but next time I'm on I'll check.

I don't know why you'd get letters if you aren't really playing as your child like in ToT.

No one had the attention span to find out by playing as long as you had to. xP Good game, but it's waaaaaay too long.

That's a good point. You wouldn't be getting letters from your parents, you'd be getting letters from some random people who's kid walked over a rainbow to give you a present.

. . . 0_o

Yeah, I don't think there are family letters in AP.

I don't recall there ever being a mention of getting letters. All I had heard was that you get the Goddess level tools, and the one item you send with the child.

Save before doing that. I remember I divided up my rare ore into threes and processed them bit by bit until I got the most for 'em and then sold off the unprocessed ore. It's awesome.
