I watched purely to see if Dexter would win, or if Michael C Hall and John Lithgow would.

I read that Michael C Hall was in remission for cancer but when he won and I saw him and realized he had lost all his hair. Which obviously made me extremely sad for him.

Michael C Hall won best actor in a drama tv show, John Lithgow won for best supporting actor in a drama, but the overall show lost to Mad Men - bleh.

If anyone missed it and wondered who won, here is a list of the winners :

Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture
Mo'Nique

Best Actress in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical
Toni Collette

Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television
John Lithgow

Best Animated Feature Film
'Up'

Best Actor in a Television Series, Drama
Michael C. Hall (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fangirl_katie.gif)

Best Actress in a Television Series, Drama
Julianna Margulies

Best Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television
'Grey Gardens'

Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy
Meryl Streep

Best Actor in a Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television
Kevin Bacon

Best Actress in a Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television
Drew Barrymore

Best Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical
Alec Baldwin

Best Television Series, Drama
Mad Men

Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television
Chloe Sevigny

Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture
Christoph Waltz {Inglourious Basterds.... Hassy may be happy about this?!}

Best Director - Motion Picture
James Cameron {ugh....}

Best Televison Series, Comedy or Musical
Glee

Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical
The Hangover

Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama
Sandra Bullock

Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy
Robert Downey Jr.

Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama
Jeff Bridges

Best Motion Picture, Drama
'Avatar'

---

I took out a few, like foreign movies, the list took forever to copy. -.-

Overall, I think it was a good year and I'm just happy Dexter won some well deserved awards and Christoph Waltz, aswell.

Discuss. ;D

I didn't watch, largely because I fear potential spoilers of Dexter.

My mother told me this tomorrow. I wasn't aware beforehand though. Hopefully he'll be alright.

Your mother told you tomorrow? Harharhar.

I understand what you mean though.

Yeah, seeing him without hair kind of really makes it sink in. Well, he was wearing a hat but it's obvious. When he accepted his award they showed Jennifer Carpenter {his wife} and she looked like she was going to cry. And they've only been married a year, that would've been hard.

But he says he's in remission and almost done treatment and they're still planning on shooting the show later in the year. I just wonder if his hair will be back by then. Ugh, it's so sad.

Wait, what? How did she tell you something in the future? Or is this another backwards Canadian/American thing?

And YAY GLEE WON!

Take Mariah Carey for example. She really showed her golden globes off for the world. -.-

Flapjack, we only spell a few words differently. Such as 'colour' and 'favourite', and that's pretty much it. It's only because we were part of Britain for much longer than you guys were.
And if you didn't watch them, why'd you bother posting?

Is it true that Avatar won best picture?

That's awful. I hope it doesn't start a trend where movies focus entirely on special effect and imagery, and completely forget plot and acting.

It just won best drama.

James Cameron said the since he now has the technology set up, he will focus on plot and all that for his next movies. I'm sure he will! He's already got down the amazing technology.

James Cameron is boring. All of his movies have focused on how pretty or good technology. I doubt he'll change now.

Now the Acadamy Awards added more movies to make the people who really don't care about the actual art of film and just go to the movies to see some action to watch the awards. Pathetic.
