IdlersDream: We're all doing well. Actually, one of my brothers will be visiting in a couple of weeks... That might be interesting. He's never spent much time down here before
Darth: Because my friend pestered me into it. I used to like Pokémon waaaay back in the day of the original red and blue games, but it eventually got too complicated for me and I lost interest. So I was gonna try one of the remakes of an older game. However, as you saw, I had no luck and ended up buying a Fire Emblem game instead. ^^ I don't really think Wal-Mart is likely to have one of the games I'm looking for, and that's where I do 99% of my non-online shopping... But, I'll give 'em a try anyway. |

Erg. Not only would purchasing the remakes of red and blue be a pain to find not at EBgames or whatever but used copies still cost a lot for no dang reason. You may be better off waiting for the Gold and Silver remakes to come out in English... though you don't really care about those do you? At least it still has the R/B area in it. Iunno. =\
Fire Emblem for $10 is amazingly awesome though. Makes me feel like an idiot for preordering it, getting a few missions in, and then losing it and Chrono Trigger until just recently. When I could apparently get it for $10. Were the headphones totally worth it though? |

The rarer a game is, the more it costs, new or used. >.>
Well, I'll just keep looking. We have two GameStops in town, so maybe I should look there (though I haven't been inside a GameStop for nearly a year). I'll buy it online if I get really desperate, but... I'm not that desperate. XD Gold and Silver were OK. I might considering getting the remake of one of those. (I think I had the original Silver.) Yes, the headphones were worth it. The cords have thicker padding to protect the wires, and since I seem to have a tendency wear down the padding on the cords... These headphones should work well. I hope it takes me more than 5 months to wear them down. (My old ones lasted only 5 months.) |

How does my friend have a jacuzzi and I don't? There has to be some reason.

Typically. But I wouldn't exactly call Pokemon "rare." Anyway.
1: Today we're gonna do MARCHING UP AND DOWN THE SQUARE. Unless any of you've gotten anything better to do? Well?! Anybody have anything they'd rather be doing than marching up and down the square? 2: Whenever I close Pinnacle Studio 12 it decides to crash as it does so. Doesn't save anything or do anything important then does it? |

Headtrip: Because life is unfair. I want a jacuzzi, too. **sniff** Let's pool our resources and
Darth: I'm not marching up and down the square when it's less than 50 degrees outside because I'm a cold-weather wimp. (And I used to live in Wisconsin. Wow. How did I survive...?) Instead, let's play Magical Melody. I started playing again this evening... Man, I am majorly rusty at this game. XD But I'm starting to get the hang of it again. Thank goodness I have a guidebook. I'm still in early spring of year 1. Yay. You got a Dazzle, eh? Pinnacle Studio does that to me sometimes, too. But it doesn't seem to have any adverse affect on anything that's already recorded. I think that at times, that's the "normal" way it closes. |

It's a fairly nifty tool. So far I've only used it for screenshots... just don't know what I could do with it aside from that since I don't have much to record. People around here are too boring for anything I can think of. Anyway.

Headtrip: There's only one way to find out, right? Maybe the polish will make it gold or something. Who knows.
Darth: You could use it to add subtitles to the HM 10th Anniversary DVD...once one of us translators gets around to sending you the info for subtitles. XD I just felt like changing it. I just took Level 4 of the JLPT last weekend, so I have Japanese on the brain. mezurashii shitsumon (rare questions) or kawatta shitsumon (strange questions) would have worked, too, but I wanted it to be a play on yoku aru shitsumon - "common questions." "amari" is the opposite of "yoku," and "nai" the negative of "aru," so, yeah... |

I can add subtitles with this thing? Neat. I was just going to find out how to use that annotations thing or whatever. Proper subtitles might look better...

It wasn't until I was well into my video-making that I learned how to do things like subtitles and transitions. It REALLY took me a long time to find out how to do transitions. It also took me a while to realise that you can do both a voice-over AND add an MP3 track to a video at the same time. I might force everyone to hear me sing in Japanese in a music video. Mwahaha. >:D
I just remembered, I recorded another another video for the MM playthrough, but... Forgot to edit it. Oh well. I'll do that tomorrow. XD It's just a one-part video this time. What exactly do you mean: "Would you go to the place where nobody dared to go?" That's an extremely vague question. |

Screenwipes and subtitles and singing? This sounds like an amazing amount of fun. I may need to mess around with it soon to get used to it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalagrin.gif)
It was just part of the opening line of Electric Light Orchestra's "Xanadu" changed slightly to form a question. I had the window open for a while and completely forgot whatever I was asking, so I just went with that... I suppose it could be used to apply to anywhere from Xanadu to the Garden of Eden or Shangri-La that's supposedly a penultimate paradise that may or may not be touched by modern man's disastrous hands. But as you say, 'cause of the vagueness of the question I may as well had been making a religious/biblical reference to even an unbelievably dirty one. Should've thought that through. but back to Dazzle and it's twelfth mystical studio designed to be the pinnacle of video achievement. Where are some of these options? Only thing I see you mentioned was screen wipes/transitions. I'm not sure if I'll ever use this stuff, but knowing it couldn't hurt just in case, right? |

Darth: To be honest, I haven't done a whole lot of experimenting. XP Most of the time I'm working on a movie that's going to be uploaded to YouTube, so I just do what I think is necessary. But, to make those movies, I guess I have had to "experiment" with a lot of stuff, but... I've never yet made a video for the sole purpose of finding out just how many cool or wacky things I can do with Pinnacle Studio. I really ought to do that, though.
Tolby: That's a lot for one montage. Heavy techno themes are popular but overused. I think some form of classical music is better. Actually, it's hard to go wrong with some sort of classical music theme. That's why it's...classical. Don't really have any real suggestions, though, since I don't know music very well. Being half deaf has nasty disadvantages. Headtrip: Lolita fashion can be really cute, and I actually like it...sometimes. ^^;; However, I find the whole idea of older guys being attracted to young girls kind of creepy... "Lolicon" and "pedophile" seem to be interchangeable at times. But that's just my opinion. |

Yeah, but running into loli in practically every every anime and manga has kind of desensitized me towards it. Is this part of an elaborate conspiracy?

Probably.
My great-grandpa evidently had a lolicon. At the age of 27, he was first engaged to a 13-year-old girl, whose parents wouldn't let her marry him until she turned 16, but then he met a 14-year-old girl whose parents were happy to let him have her, so...he married her instead. (Though he ended up marrying the first girl years later, after his wife died.) Then the second wife died, and his third wife was twenty-one years his junior. Just thought I'd throw that in there. |

That wasn't all that unusual back in the day, if that helps. I read about a guy in school who was 50 and married a 14-year old family servant after getting her pregnant.
Can you top that? |
