Hasfusel: They must have been clapping at the ending of the movie, not cuz it was ending! It's cool, why didn't you like it? Not even a little bit? Was it just because of the length? I've heard a lot of people complaining about the length and I do agree it's a bit long.

I just got back from the movie. I cried at the end when they were all crying and they thought they were all going to die.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Now my eyes are stinging.

^3^ Overall I thought the beginning wasn't very good but the ending was great.

It was unbelievable rubbish. So the story is some bad writer and his kids come across this secret goverment site, where they befriend an official who just happened to have been one of the few hundred people to have read his book and is a crazy fan of his. And then they discover this random stoner hippy whose friend just somehow mananged to single handedly discover and chart a top secret government plot to build ships to escape the end of the world, which they somehow knew about before it had been discovered by the official's best friend in India. And then there's volcanoes and sh*t everywhere - the writer guy somehow manages to dodge each one in the nick of time, climbing out of a massive crack in the earth somehow after retrieving the hippy guy's map just in time to be rescued. Because the writer's ex wife's boyfriend had taken one flying lesson once, and then they all found a plane conveniently, and he was somehow able to maneuvre the plane through collapsing skyscrapers and stuff, and the group drives a car through buildings which are collapsing, and they just manage to escape getting crushed by the fraction of a second. And this kind of thing happens like fifteen times. And then the guy with one flying lesson flies a massive russian jet with some oligarch guy who the family happened to meet up with, and they land in Tibet just in time to sneak on board this massive ship that the government had secretly made to escape the end of the world. Oh, and the ex wifes boyfriend is crushed to death and nobody notices. And the writer guy somehow is able to just survive spending like 10 minutes underwater fixing this jam, saving everyone, along with his seven year old son.
The best moment of the film was when they said the American and Italian presidents had nobly given up their positions on the magic boat, the Italian president having elected to stay and pray. So they're saying Berlusconi would be the one to give up his place out of all the world leaders. I was in stiches at that bit.
It's a pathetic film, I want my £5 back.

Lol, I'm pretty sure you need to throw that entire paragraph minus your last sentence into a spoiler tag.

I actually enjoyed 2012. It was a lot better than Day After Tomorrow.

THAT WAS THE WORST FILM I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE

APART FROM MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 2 BUT THAT ONE DOESN'T COUNT

You sure got a funny way of typing, "The Brothers Solomon."

As for clapping for an ending of a film, my friend I clapped for Star Trek's ending which I rarely go to see a film on opening weekends (Houston, bad obnoxious groups of people are inevitable). Turns out it was just my friend and I who clapped and felt really awkward as we walked out.The snickers and chuckles were literally vibrating all over my body.

Hasfusel: Ohh, I get what you're saying. I know, it's a big coincidence. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) But that's just the way it worked out, you could call it fate? Haha!

Poopkeeper: Are you saying you guys clapped because it sucked? I want to rent Star Trek soon...

My mother really wants to see this film.

...She's just reluctant to shell out the money for it. XD

She was going to wait until it came to the cheap theatre, but since our town's ONLY cheap theatre closed last week, she'll either have to see it at a more expensive theatre or wait until it comes out on DVD. --;

She LOVES the cheesey disaster movies, and after I told her Hasfusel's synopsis of it, she...wants to see it even more.

It sounds like one of those movies they show on SyFy. She made me watch some of those last week, when we were at a hotel. Ugh, that was PAINFUL--but I must admit, I got a good laugh out of the stupid plots, bad acting, and un-scientific approach of all the "scientists." Those films ought to be considered as comedies.

These people aren't bad actors, I thought they did a great job. I guess it just comes down to if you like the theme of the movie or not. I ignore the scientific evidence in any movie, really. It's usually always fake or based around something crazy. BUT just watch it, it's entertaining and don't look into it too much! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalagrin.gif) There are people that actually are starting to think the world will really end like that in 2012...

Oh, your mom should see it now, cuz it's just even more expensive on DVD. Unless she rents it at RedBox.

Or from the library, where she can rent it for free. (If they get it.)

I guess I have an overly analytical mind or something, because it's hard for me to tune out all the scientific stuff. Especially when it comes to weather. I took a year and a half of earth science/meteorology in college, and it's hard for me to tune that out. XD

The acting was almost unexceptionally terrible. I really don't recommend spending money on this, just wait till it's on the television or something.

My friend got a copy of the movie, and we saw it yesterday.
It was way too much of a coincidence for my tastes, like sometimes I was just like "wow..really?" but it wasn't horrible.

I've definitely seen worse. Then again I didn't pay to see it, I would probably be a little bitter if I had.

Wasn't John Cusack in this? If he sucked then either he's lost it or the script was awful. Or both.
